Too Cute!

Pets is a great addition to the Sims 2 experience. You can adopt your pet or "make" your own. They need to be fed, given attention, love, etc. They learn tricks, play with other pets, bring in mice from the yard and destroy furniture if bored, just like the real world. Very fun!

Lots of fun! Get the stuff packs.

This game is truly amazing--especially in the behaviors of the people and the pets. Very lifelike! My only disappointment is the very limited selection of furniture and accessories to choose from to fill the houses. I would definitely recommend getting the stuff packs to supplement the game. There are sites online where you can download new objects, but I have had a lot of difficulty getting most of them to install into the game on my mac.

Great Game

like the game. But watch your memory or it will go slow. And be careful of what you download-may slam your game. And Only download a little at a time. And keep notes of the file names in case you need to remove it.

Where's the Mac support, Aspyr?

Sims 2 Pets is an endearing expansion for the Sims franchise, but Mac users beware: although Aspyr has released a patch for the Windows platform to fix the game's many bugs, there is currently (4/6/07) no patch available for the Mac. Errors include taking a puppy or kitten to work if you're interacting with them when the carpool shows up, children floating when chatting with each other, and -- when your pets retire from a job -- your Sims are silently demoted in their career path.

Please release a Mac patch, Aspyr.

Good and Bad

The game altogether adds more to the Sims2

And I although I didn't have any problems installing them, the pets are way too time consuming. You can't have a dog and a child in the same family because they both take up so much of your attention. Another thing I didn't like about it was the fact that you can't control your pet. For example, I had an adopted pet, who wouldn't eat pet food, as a result of that, he was almost always starving.
This game is good if you like single families but anymore then that and it'll be very hard for you to keep up.

Great software but if your child is under 16 you should monitor the use of this software

this software is appealing to children but the software content does contain parts that are definitely targeted at mature teens. The pet module of SIMs 2 will not operate without the full SIMS 2 program. This program enables the users to select suggestive content for their sims family. i am not a prud and believe in not sheltering my daughter from the world but if your child is under the age of 16 there are types of choices one can make with their SIMS character that involve building "personal relationships" (not explicit intimacy but suggestive) within the SIMs2 program software. I have discussed this with my daughter who played this at a friend's house. I read the other pets reviews and thought it would be ok for my 8 year old. The software has a teenage rating. My daughter enjoys the simulation family building but I monitor her use to make sure her simulations at this point in time don't go literally to the bedroom. it is very creative software and with proper use at proper ages is fun for the entire family.

I love this game sooooo much!!!

I just bought the Sims 2 Pets, and I've really enjoyed it. However, it has a lot of bugs. I've noticed a decrease in performance quality since I installed it. It's not anything super serious, but you can tell. I also had some trouble with Sims faces' being different if I altered a pet profile last in the create-a-new-family section. Weird. It also doesn't have as many new objects as I would like (new clothes, hairstyles, etc.), but the stuff that is new is pretty cool. It's also really fun to give your pets jobs. So overall, don't be scared to get the game, but also keep an eye out for a patch that will correct the problems. I haven't been able to find one yet.

I feel this is THE BEST Sims 2 Expansion Packs! I liked Nightlife, but I felt
the Sims 2 Pets has a lot more creativity. You can really achieve a lot in this game.
Not only can your pets get jobs to earn more income for you, you are also making a family very happy
when you create a pet. I love also being able to meet other animals in the neighborhood. You can adopt strays
once you become friendly with them. It's a cool game. A MUST for any animal lovers, and Sims/Sims 2 fan!
