This game is a blast and it truly teaches you how to make just about every drink you can imagine. Not only will you learn the recipes to drinks but you will learn proper technique all while having fun.
The characters are funny (although not at all politically correct) and the animation music and sound are all good. Most surprising is the wonderful interface they made for the bar, it really is just like the real thing (well, you know what I mean).
Bottom line this is a great game and a great way to learn how to mix drinks.

Last Call is much more sophisticated than your average shoot-em-up or punch-em-up computer game. You are the bartender..you have a fully-equipped bar in front of you..and a succession of eccentric New York characters are your customers. They order their drinks--from beer to Alabama Slammers. You mix the drinks, moving glasses and bottles and mixers around with your mouse..measuring quantities with a meter that shows the ounces you are pouring..and serving them up to the customers as quickly as you can. If you get the drink right and get it served quickly, the customer tips you generously. If you've got it wrong or take too long, expect some caustic remarks from the cutomers. The point of the game is to earn tips for drinks mixed correctly and served quickly, and also--like most games--to become more and more skilled, moving up to higher levels of speed and difficulty so that you are serving several customers at the same time, flirting with the women and joshing with the men. The game is a lot of fun; the cartoon-like characters are well-developed; and the dialogue is witty. And you get the recipes for dozens of different cocktails.

Last Call was very much what I expected. Graphics and sound is very good.Drink recipes has a full range. The bar area and set-up is very realistic and especially the way the drinks are poured it is like the real thing. I particularly liked how each level would really test your knowledge and memory. The cast of characters are very funny and imaginative. My 14 year old got a hold of this game and played to levels that amazed me. This is with no experience in a bar , ofcourse. This is a very forgiving game and anyone can play it. Recommended for bartender's and customers alike.

It seemed like a novel concept, but now I know why a bartending job would be boring if you only had the same 10 customers all night every night. The charactors in this game are very weak. Sure you make them different drinks, but they say the same thing all the time. It can be challenging to keep up the pace, but I found it more challenging to keep awake.
Ehhhhh, fun for a day....

Well, I was really excited to get the game. I popped it in, started to play, and it was lot's of fun, or so it seemed. Basically, it's the same over and over again. I thought people sit at the bar and you keep servin em, and they get rowdy and you kick em out... nope, they come, you read in the guide how to make the drink and they go "ohhh" or "great" and leave. Like I said, fun, but I spent 20 bucks and only played once. FUN FOR A DAY!!!
At least I didn't pay that much for it....

A fun game for the price, nothing too exciting after you reach the fifth stage of the game. Everything is repetitive and you pretty much get the feeling that "I've seen it once and don't need to see it again".
Another thing is that I'm using an iMac rev D with 96 megs of RAM. When there was a lot of graphic movement and talking going on my cpu was really working and the game began to get jagged and skippy.
Overall I was not impressed with the game and will probably be selling it soon.

What a great game. I am currently learning to become a bartender. We have many bartenders here in my city and any of them I show it to say that it is a great educational tool.
If your plan is to spend Weeks and Weeks on this game go somewhere else. This is no RPG,Simulation or any shooting game. it belongs to it's own genre because a game like this has never been created. A bit old but you could never tell that when playing it.
You learn cocktails, shooters,on ice drinks, and coffee drinks. Black Russian,Rum rickey,Melonball, and basic shots are your starting off drinks. Along with the ocational SCREWDRIVER. This is a wanna-be bartenders best dream.
With this game you learn fast, learn quick, and learn alot about the wrold of bartending.
I hope this helped! Good luck and happy tip hunting!!
Repetitive, but fun nonetheless.

...P>Now, onto the review! I first downloaded the demo for this game and was immediately intrigued. Such a novel, yet simple concept kept me hooked until my eyes bleared with exhaustion and I had to call it a night. It amazed me at the ease that I could rip off a perfect martini or even a simple Scotch and soda. The in-game personalities, which are, admittedly, a little annoying at times, are nonetheless peppered with humorous quips that had me rolling. ("The next drunk-... that pets me, I'm goin' feral on their ... ...unless it a chick." Riot!)
My advice is to buy it for a night, but save it for a party. Let your friends try this game and they'll be begging you for your copy. However, it's an acquired taste, and not for everybody. Shame.

The main plot of the game is pretty fun, but the graphics are very choppy and cartoon like. There are 7 levels to master and each gets more annoying than the last. On level 4 you will have a customer order a drink from you and as soon as you put the glass down that you are going to pour the drink in they are complaining about how long it takes for you to serve them. After two customers it gets very annoying.
P.S. If you need help mixing different drinks this game is perfect. If not save your money.
