I won a brand new-shrinkwrapped-never before played (you get the idea) copy of this game off ebay. I played some japanese versions of bomberman games on the gameboy my friend had before he moved. It was like a 12 pack on one gameboy cartridge an i remember there was pocket bomberman, bomberman GB, Warios blast (starring bomberman), an a bomberman game where you could get armor kinda looking like a hovercraft which was possibly bomberman GB 3, possibly bomberman GB 2(included), and the rest were games like super mario land and doctor mario (all in japanese), i rented bomberman 64 (US version) an it was fun an i own and beaten pocket bomberman (US version) for the gameboy. I read reviews an this game looks great. I will update as soon as i receive the game.

WHAT a surprise!!

I have never been disappointed with a Hudson based game :) I thoroughly research a game before purchasing it. Read reviews on here and on Game Faqs.comThis is one of the few, unadulterated games I have played, apart from Golden Sun, in awhile. The quest is VERY original-Zelda-type and addictive. ACTUALLY enjoyable. This is Bomberman fun with a nice blend of RPG..unfettered. I cannot stand those platform RPG combos (The latest Zelda games)...very few pull that off effectively. Bomberman Tournament is a great game for those days when you don't want to break your fingers and controller. SURPRISINGLY fun game!!If you want epics this is not for you. If you want fun gaming with some challenge...this is it!PS: BTW according to Nintendo The Legend of Zelda is not an RPG but has always been classified as an action adventure. Was I surprised with that one :)

Short and a rip-off of Zelda

First off, this game is way too short. Plus, there's not much replayability involved in it.

Also, it seems more like a Zelda game than a Bomberman game. Yeah, there's Bomberman action, but let's see what it has in common with the Zelda games:
-Various dungeons with puzzles in it, where you find items to help you continue, and also a boss in each.
-At the end of each dungeon, you get a "heart" that increases the amount of damage you can take.
-You'll find a map to help you out somewhere in the dungeon
-As you go along, you'll get different kinds of weapons
-And others.

Also, the Charaboms are clearly a rip-off of Pokemon. And finally, as stated previously, the game is too short, and it lacks replayability. However, it IS fun while it lasts, which is while I gave it 2 stars instead of 1.

I love this game! ...wait. There's an RPG included?!

The multiplayer feature rocks. Picture this: Up to four people can play with one game pack, you can play in eight different levels, along with revenge and a fishing mini-game. Now, that would be worth the price of the game, right? Well, there's more! There's a Bomberman RPG-type game too! And it's very long! It took me two hours to get out of the first forest! Trust me, you'll have a blast(get it?) going through this game. You can collect Karaboms to battle and help through different obstacles. There's puzzles to solve, missions to complete, bosses to battle. There's even more stuff to do, but you just have to pick it up for yourself! This is a must-have for any Bomberman fan. And even if you're not a fan, just try this game!

A Great Game!!!!!!!!!

Bomberman Tournament is an awesome game. When I first got the game for my birthday, I didn't know what to expect. But after I started playing it and got the hang of it, it became really, really fun. It is a lot like the original bomberman, only this one is an adventure game. Another thing is that your bombs can be upgraded. Also, there are these creatures called Karabons that can be trained and they can be used in battles. It might be hard for you at first, but keep at it and it (if your like me) will probably get really fun. It is a rather hard game (but not too hard) so it will keep you busy for a while. The only thing is that the time in between bosses is a little short, but otherwise this is a really, really, really great game!!! Anyone who liked the orginal bomberman will loooove this one.

Bomberman has travelled from system to system, and now he's made his way to the GBA. This adventure's not really different than any of his others with a few exceptions. Bomberman has always followed the same formula of navigating through levels using your bombs as tools to defeat enemies, and eliminate obstacles. The inclusion of your friend Pommy though, does make things slightly more interesting. With great cartoony graphics, excellent play control, decent music and sound, and a tried and true game design, Bomberman Tournament is a fun game for one or more people. The multi-player fun keeps this game interesting for quite some time. No matter what way you look at it though, Bomberman is still Bomberman. The lack of change makes the game lose a star, but it's still quite fun to play.

Some may remember Bomberman back as a one player puzzle game. Than later he grew into a party game with an incredible multiplayer funfactor. From there he grew and blossomed until his last great game on the Sega Saturn under the name of Saturn Bomberman, where you had a total of ten players on one screen try and blow the hell out of eachother. Then there were a few sad attempts on PSX and N64. Now he is back.

Bomberman Tournament reverts back to the over the top screen play for multiplayer as in the days of yore. 4 players competing consecutivly in the multiplayer aspect. There are 8 arenas to compete in each with a different stipulation. Whether it's pipes, landmines, conveyer belt and what not.

Now that is not the only aspect. There is also and incredible good, and fun story mode. A disturbance somewhere in the solar system has provoked Bomberman's buddy Max to investigate, a few weeks later when he doesn't respond to calls the Doc. sends in you, Bomberman to find out what the problem is and fix it. You land on a planet and in a Zelda like style try to save the planet from the Evil Bombers once again. Along the way you gather little critters on the planet which provide you with unique powerups. These include swimming, opening doors, remote bombs, or teleportation. You can also use these critters in a fun mini game, which is actually need to compete in at the end of the game.

Overall Bomberman has come a long way from the little demolition robot who wanted to be human. He has had many adventures and many cherished memories for gamers world wide. He is one of the few gaming icons that we will never forget. God bless you little Bomberman.

I had heard of Bomberman, but I had never played one of his games until now. It was a blast!(Pardon the pun.) Medium to low challenge on the single player, but the multiplayer computers are tricky. The ten different types of bombs are interesting.
The karabons(Pokemon like creatures)seem like a somewhat heavy handed attempt to jump on the bandwagon of creature collecting games, but they are an entertaining side attraction. This game is worth buying, especially if its used.

Underrated

I bought this game thinking it would be easy and fun for a month until i could buy a better game, but it is amazing! other than the playstation bombermans, this one is hard, and does not get boring because of all the different battle options, and the quest. Buy this game, its way better than sonic advance
