Compared to games like Gran Turismo, this game is really poor. It kept my attention for a day and now it is going to sit on the shelf, unless my girlfriend wants to play it. She enjoys the game much more then I do. If you are looking for an even decent racing game, this is not it.

The physics in the game are very unrealistic, and the sound is annoying, but the fun factor makes this game a 4. My wife even loves this game. Also, using the tremor pack with this game is highly recommended.

Dreamcast has a lot of bad titles, but this is not one of them. This game is worth buying and the AI can get very competitive.

Though some have complained of Speed Devils' unrealistic handling, this is a truly fun, creative racer whose tracks will amaze you. Not only are the graphics superb, but the track lay-outs--with aliens, tornados, King Kong, and far more--keep you coming back again and again. Championship mode is great fun; competitors have distinct styles and personalities, making one player mode worthwhile; and taking side bets raises the stakes in exciting ways. Maybe there could be more tracks and vehicles, and it's certainly nothing as realistic or detailed as a Gran Turismo, but extremely fun nonetheless and suprisingly deep for an arcade racer.
Best racer on Dreamcast.

The graphics are stunning. Not only do you get to drive in places like Aspen, Hollywood, Vegas & Louisiana, but you get to drive them at different times of day & in different weather conditions. You get to drive Lousiana in the middle of a tornado that rivals the ones seen in "Twister". You get to drive cool cars w/ styles ranging from the 50's to the 90's... And the cars handle like real cars. Let's not for get that in real cars you have a steering wheel. This game takes into account that you are steering w/ a thumb joystick & the steering is TIGHT. So much so that it's easy to get so into this game that you feel like you are really driving in it. BUY THIS GAME. Especially now that's it's only $15.

I would have to say if you are looking for a realistic game such as Sega rally 2 you are not going to find it in Speed Devils. It is a fun unrealistic game. The tracks are not the same old boring bland scenery laps but the courses have some innovation like for example in the Hollywood track they have King Kong intermingled into the scenery and he takes his fist and tries to bash your car. The tracks are fun and seem long after the first lap but they aren't too bad.The best part of the game is the gasmbling.you cannot make a bet yourself but other people come to you and offer u a wager. The cars are sweet looking, especially the reflection effect off the car's chrome.I wish the game was even longer than it already is and that there were more tracks{there are alot of tracks}and that it provided a harder challenge. All in all this game is great fun......the whole concept is just fun about it. The frame rate on this is very smooth.....unlike Sega rally 2.I payed 50$ fer Speed Devils. It is definitely worth 30$+.If you do not really like the sega rally 2 feel and realisticness....go for Speed Devils it is the most funnest innovative racer.
Great game and Great fun

Speed Devils may not be very realistic, and if you want something realistic, go for something else. However, to most racing fans this is a great addition to their game library. One problem though. It gets harder and harder and is practically impossible to get through some of the classes. It can get frustrating. Otherwise, this could be one of the best racing games yet on the Dreamcast console.
Fun, moderately silly racer with good amounts of realism

Speed Devils has a lot of aspects that make it seem like a sillier, cartoony sort of racer, but it still keeps up in the gameplay area, with impressive terrain simulations and superb environmental mods such as weather.
While its tracks don't approach the world aspect of Beetle Adventure Racing for the N64, there's still plenty of interesting diversions such as a T-rex in Hollywood, a tornado in Louisiana, and flying saucers that actually attempt to levitate you up in Nevada. The gameplay is obviously not on the lines of Gran Turismo, but it's adequately fun. One aggravating aspect of the game is the fact that cars have 3 documented statistics, Acceleration, Speed, and Braking. While handling seems to scale somewhat with braking, it's largely a mystery.
The place where Speed Devils really shines is the simulation of weather affects, such as rain and varying degrees of snowy roads. The addition of night driving was interesting when coupled with car damage. This makes it quite a task to keep your headlights not broken when driving at night in snow.
The personality of the different racers is a nice touch, along with them making bets with you (really, the best way to make quick money in the game).
All in all, Speed Devils is a fun racer.
Must...stop...driving...Oooohhh!

Speed Devils is a real tight little racer with a lot of big ideas. This underhyped game puts you in some of the most creative and enjoyable environments seen outside of Soul Caliber. I have gotten a kick out of the Hollywood disaster track where you race through a tinsel-town on the virge of armageddon, and avoiding the crashing UFOs on deserted Nevada highways. Great arcade feel and some seriously risky gambling make for an intense experience. Lots of nitro boosts and long drops add to the fun. Free hint: this is fun with your friends, at the Hoover Dam, try to drive off the road in such a way as to flip the car upside down by the time it hits the water. Hit replay after a few minutes of this and enjoy your own Dukes of Hazzard. You can also see who's car does the most 360's when you drive into the hurricane in Louisiana. Sound like fun? It is.
