There are lots of negative reviews for this product, but they seem to be all by adults. Just looking at the box graohics, it's easy to see that the game is clearly aimed at kids, and for that audience is a big hit. It's simple enough that my 7-year-old boy, who has never played any Madden or more sophisticated football, says it's his favorite game. We have Star Wars, all the Mario games, but this is his favorite by a mile. The controlls are simple enough for a kid to learn without reading the directions (after some experimenting) and nothing is overly complicated. He now practices plays outside - hooray!
Not Bad! I like it

This game is pretty great. IT's so much easier than Madden. I think the hype about Tom Brady being in the game is really overrated. Other than that , this game is game is amazing. There are a ton of pros that the trailers don't tell you about like, LaDanian Tomlinson, Shaun Alexander, and Vince young. One bad thing is that when you're on offense a lot of plays make you throw the ball backwords for a loss. A really cool thing that the game does is when you score a touchdown if you wait a minute there will be an instant replay. There is an anoucer named Chuck and he's an idiot! That's another great thing, it's hilarious to listen to this guy ramble on and on. Overall this game rocks!!!!!!!!!!!
Good grief!

I purchased this title mainly due to my enthusiasm for MLB Power Pros - I was hoping that this would be the football version of it. Boy was I wrong.
While the controls and plays are a lot easier than Madden 07/08 for a casual football fan to get a good grasp of, the graphics are so atrocious, I will venture to say that this is possibly the worst looking game for the Wii right next to Far Cry Vengeance.
The instruction manual is basically a waste of time. They should have saved a few trees and just skipped the manual altogether.
But the absolute worst thing about this game is the OUTRAGEOUSLY ANNOYING voices of the children screaming at you to pick them for your team. Instead of taking my time to methodically pick a team that I thought would work well, I just picked the first kids on the list in order to shut up the hideous chatter.
MLB Power Pros is proof positive that great sports titles can be made for the Wii. However, Backyard Football is proof positive that if you love football, you'll be waiting a while longer for the great FOOTBALL game for the Wii to come along.
Great game for all ages!

This game has it all - great action, great announcers, and some real NFL players! You have to get past the kiddie faces, but other than that a really good game to own and for adults and kids of all ages! My son and I play it almost nightly for an hour for me to calm down from a hard day and for him to have an incentive to finish his homework!

I have Never played this game but if you ask my 9 year old it's the best game he has ever played!!
My son only plays sport video games from baseball to bowling. His most favorite game was Madden Football, but then I bought this Back Yard football and he plays it all the time now.
He told me it's so much Easier then Madden, with this game he his able to Win alot. Where with Madden he would struggle to get to superbowls with his favorite teams, for kids usually with Madden you have to play only super bowl winners to get to super bowl. But with Backyard Football he can be any team and get to supper bowls. Also he likes that he can make up his own team; sort of like Fantasy Football pick all the best players.
He likes the game so much for christmas he asked if he could have the older 2007 & 2006 Back Yard Football and all Back Yard Baseball!! Unfortunately one draw back of the Wii, they don't make the older games for Wii but we also own a PS2 and can get all the older games.
Fun for kids who love sports

We just got this game and it is already the favorite of our two boys 6 and 9. They both love football and were asking for Madden but I thought it would be too complicated for them. This game seems to be really great for kids. My older son doesn't want to stop playing and it's easy enough for the little one. My husband even likes to play with them.
