Better than the original

In almost every way, Perseus Mandate is better than the original. Better detailing, more agressive enemies and still the same spine-chilling moments. I loved it!!

More Fear

Great new levels for FEAR

Lots of fun. Tougher bad guys, new implements of distruction, interesting extensions to the story line, and new unlockable levels. A must have for FEAR fans.

½ way through, doubt I'll finish

The game play isn't bad nor is the basic concept behind the game, but the graphics and environments are surprisingly uninspired, and sometimes rudimentary.

Apart from Spartan set design giving the game an unfinished feel, the relative absence of props and large flat surfaces puts the visual weight of the game upon the textures. Unfortunately some textures look like temporary placeholders for something yet to come. Additionally, it appears that little thought was given to texture placement and juxtaposition in some areas, nor does it seem that the game designers noticed how an endlessly repeated texture block can result in undesirable patterns.

I'm betting that monolith wishes they could pull their name from this release.

Good action - Weak Story

The action in this episode of F.E.A.R. is much like the first episode - in fact it uses much of the same levels - and in that respect it is enjoyable enough. However, there is only a very weak attempt to create a story line that explains why the action is taking place. All in all, it is no match for the first two F.E.A.R. episodes

Perfect

No problems at all. If you liked F.E.A.R., this is more of the same, but not as much spooky girl. I think the shoot outs are a little more intense (more bad guys that move faster and their AI is better). I had some computer issues (shadows looking odd) with the original but this version played perfect.

Rehash of the earlier versions

As an avid and long time gamer (I'm 60), I was disappointed in this rendition of F.E.A.R. While some of the new weapons are fun to play with (and slay with), the story line is pretty dull. I should have purchased BioShock instead.

More of the same.

Loved the original, this is OK, but lacks the back story or spooky feel. Much more of a shoot 'em up, ergo much less interesting. I read that Monolith is working on a new sequel and that they were not a part of this effort. Maybe save your $$ and bag the Monolith sequel, if and when it comes out. Bought this used, so didn't spend much on it. Don't pay retail. Guess it is a good buy from that respect. Not bad, just not as good as the original and not as good as Extraction Point.

AWESOME!!

FEAR altogether is one of the best first person shooters I have ever played. Perseus Mandate was an awesome sequel to "Extraction Point". If you liked the other FEAR games or just like FPS games, definitely pick this game up!

FEAR , Perseus Mandate is a winner

This is a good sequel, but it could be better. Lack of detail in some of the maps is disappointing for a series of this usually high caliber. It's still worth the $19 I paid for it.
