A realistic FPS for those who beat Medal of Honor.

This is a realistic first person shooter. To answer the main question that everyone has, no, it is not as good as Medal of Honor. However, it is still worth checking out. For most of the missions, you fight alongside squad members, and the plot follows that of the movie. The mission designs can become frustrating once in a while, but for the most part, they are pretty good. The game's difficulty will stay challenging, but has never got me to a place where I wanted to quit. There are better FPSs out there, but the main highlight to this is that it will give Gamecube owners an enhoyable, exclusive title.

This game has been released on the computer and will be released on the PS2 and Gamecube. Comparing games is not really the best idea with this game since the concepts differ a lot from most FPS games. The Sum of All Fears is one of the most realistic first person shooters around. Unlike most first person shooters which allow players to run around like a maniac firing a gun at demons and soldiers, this game requires players to plan all their future movements. The player can assign nav points to different squads and have them move to that spot and even face a certain location if assigned. If your not up to planning each movement and slowly moving through enemy territory then don't get this game. This game requires a slow steady pace and lots of patience. You can't rush through the levels too easily, and if you can your definately playing the wrong difficulty. In my opinion, the best part about the game is that you can move slowly and take out every enemy terrorist.

In my honest opinion, this is one of the best FPS out there, other than Rainbow Six.

I traded Matt Hoffmans BMX 2 in for this game and I was pleased I did. With a very nice look to it and weapons it serves out to be a pretty good game. I would reccomend other one's like Ghost Recon and Timesplitters 2 but if you have them this would look fine on your shelf. Don't worry about the reviews it is better then what they say. The only bad thing about this game is the sound. I would give out of 5 a 3.5 for this game, it really is good in ways.

Not too bad.

The Sum of All Fears is a fun and challenging game, but it does not compare to Ghost Recon. The story line is great and the graphics are awesome but the challenge isn't nearly as difficult as that of Ghost Recon. However, at [the item price] it IS... cheaper and it IS worth every penny. If you own Ghost Recon, save your money. If you are thinking about purchasing your first shooter game, this is worth every cent.

Had lots of potential

The Sum of All Fears has you leading a group of anti-terrorist experts on a wild goose chase to nail the guy who's supplying all the baddies with arms.
This game simply didn't do Tom Clancy's book or the movie justice. There are only 11 simple missions. There isn't even a multiplayer mode!! AuuGGhH!!!
The one thing I liked was the true-to-life weapons. Frag grenades, M16s, M4s, and so on.
Seriously, though, don't waste time or money on this game. It will only prove to be a bore.

Fun but needs an overhaul.

If this game would have been an N64 title it would have been great, but on the Game Cube it lacks depth. Sum of All Fears is the little brother of Ghost Recon but plays more like a Rainbow Six clone. My major complaint is the lackluster graphics. The environments are some what detailed but they and the characters seem not quite finished. Enemy AI is moderately challenging, however your team is clumsy and a burden.

You command a three man team (which you cannot switch between unless someone dies), that is given a specific entry route to follow generated by the game (you don't get to choose your own waypoints). While you are executing your tasks, other assault teams (friendly AI, 3man teams) conduct simultaneous assaults which generally provide effective supporting fire. In this game your not the boss like in Rainbow Six, instead your a middle manager taking orders from Jack Ryan and John Clark. I kinda like this bold move, it makes you feel like your part of a large assault on most levels.

OK, weapon assortment is very good, BUT the auto-aiming can get easily distracted by multiply enemies (solution : grenade, spray and pray). Enemy weapons fire is realistic, you start getting effective fire and you're going down. Sound is decent, but transition screen is slow and frustrating. I gave it 4 stars because even with it's problems, the game is a fun, challenging SWAT style FPS. They should have put more time into this, but it's worth the bargain price if you are a Rainbow Six fan.

good for the cube.......how about xbox

this game is really exciting for the cube but will it be out for xbox? Ubi soft really knows how to create a winner. Tom Clancy is a champion.

Good, but get Ghost Recon instead

This is a very well done game. You are part of an elite HRT (Hostage Rescue Team) and you fight your way through 11 very fun levels. But this game played just like Ghost Recon only this game took me 3 days to beat. On the bright side, the missions are pretty fun and someimes moderetly challenging. One part of this game that really sucks though is that your tam is a bunch of morons. They just wander near you as you are fired on and you cant see anyone but your team can and they just yell "Taking Fire!" and dont do anything about it I think the only good thing about your team is that if you die, you become one of them to keep fighting. Good, but I reccomend Ghost Recon for those who want a real challenge.
