I played this game in a demo and its a blast. It has all the roller coasters, attractions, and outstanding characters of the real Universal Studios. This game will rule in video games!
ridiculous waste-o-money

Thank God we just rented this game. This game is awful and frustrating. Many of the other reviews state specific problems so I won't repeat all of that. I just want to say to those who think that this game is good for young kids that they are wrong. I rented this for my 6 year old and he hated it so much that he refused to go to the REAL Universal Studios when we were in LA for a visit. So much for the game even being a good advertisement, huh?
Although unpopular by most, I still found it entertaining.

First off, let me say that this game was obvously designed for young kids. The only reason I even bothered with this game after hearing all of the negative reviews, was because I am one the biggest Back to the Future fans (not to mention a fan of the Universal Theme Parks themselves.) I went out and rented it first.
I was actually expecting a worse game, but it was funner than I thought it would be. The Back to the Future chase's opening and ending cutscenes were both mega-cool to me, but the chase itself was a little lacking, (however, I still played this mini-game more than the others. What OTHER game is there were you can fly around in a DeLorean?)
The Jaws minigame was about the only thing they could come up with that would make any sense for a Jaws based game, so no dissapointments there.
Backdraft was fun, although I found it very difficult to move your character (which you get to choose from a limited variety) around.
E.T. was so simple, I don't think it's possible to lose if you played blind-folded and moved the stick around randomly!
Jurassic Park was tough, until I realized you could lock on missiles to shoot down the dinosaurs.
And Waterworld must have either been an unfinished part of the game they just left on the game disk, or just designed for an easy point getter.
If you save up your points (which you must do to ride anything anyway) you can buy merchandise like hats to get on the various rides, and Hoverboards to get around the park quicker.
All in all, I wouldn't recommend this game to anyone, unless you like any of the movies this game has, or you just like Universal Studios (like I do.) If you do, this would be a fun little diversion that only takes about 2 hours fully play through.
Universal's mini-games are a hit!

At E3, I noticed a game that was called Universal Studious Theme Park. I was curious and looked more into this strange new game. The moment a T-Rex was chasing me down in Jurassic Park:The Ride, I was hooked. The demo had Backdraft, Jurassic Park, E.T., and Back to the Future. They had to practically rip that cool Gamecube controller off my hands to keep the line moving. E.T. was a very simple-minded ride. All you have to do is dodge traffic and police officers to get E.T. to his spaceship and escape Earth. Back to the Future has you in the past, present, and future. You have to stop Biff from stealing the other Delorean. Backdraft has you stopping fires as a firefighter and protecting lives from death. Jurassic Park has you stuck on Isla Sorna and you're driving in a Jeep to escape the jaws of a Tyrannosaurs Rex and a pack of Velociraptors and having to get to the helicopotor before you're a nice, lovely snack. The graphics are making you feel like you're in Tokyo's Universal Studios and the sound is nice and vibrant. In conclusion, the game is a big masterpiece.
Buy This Game If You Love Picking Up Other People's Garbage

This was the first game we purchased when we bought our GameCube, thinking it would be fun. What a disappointment! If we want to wait in line to go on rides, we'll go to the real Universal Studios. And how does one avoid the lines and actually play games? Are you ready? By PICKING UP GARBAGE! Yes, in order to actually play the games you spent $... on, you must first schlepp around the park picking up garbage. Then, once you think you have enough sanitation work under your belt, you have to find your way through the infuriating maze back to the main gate so you can exchange points for a special hat to wear, then try your best to find the ride again. The only reason I'm giving this one star is for the real feel of the theme park itself, which brought back very pleasant memories of our family trip to Universal Studios. Every ride(game), by the way, is not worth the effort you put in picking up the garbage and talking to the animated bores wandering aimlessly throughout this dreadful experience. But unlike them, I can turn the game off, and that's what I did. Don't spend your hard earned 50 bucks on this high tech infomercial.
Fun for a few minutes.

This game could have a been a world better. The premise is that you are in a theme park, and you must complete "rides" which are basically mini games that take a few attempts to master, and once you're done--that's it.
While it is cool to see different characters, (Woody Woodpecker, Frankenstien) the map is difficult to move around in. There is no real replay value once you've finished the game. It will just set on the shelf.
It's a definate bargain basket game if the price is low enough because of the great graphics and the fact that the mini games are somewhat fun. But, it is fatally flawed with a lack of orginality and low replay value.

I thought this game was very good. It's like the rides in Universal Studios, only animated, and it is really an adventure, not a ride. I think a lot of kids might want it even though it's rated [T]. I'd have to say it's good for anyone over 9. This game was great. You will like it.
Too short....

This was a game I was really looking forward too. It's easy enough for anyone. The only hard parts are the minigames E.T. (bad control), Backdraft (bad control), Jurassic Park (okay control, really hard), Back to the Future (you've got to be perfect in any mode besides easy), and Wild Wild Wild West Stunt Show (you have to be perfect). The game is fun to a certain point. The day I got it, I played it for 4 hours straight. But then it's over and there's nothing to do. A solid rental. Just don't go spending ... on it like I did and expect a great game.

Yet, the bad reviews are bad, but if you ask me, that is, I think the game is great and you should ignore the bad reviews. The game is actully outstanding, phhonemol peice of art. So the game is great because you get to go on real rides at the universal studios theme park in florida. The rides are: E.T, Jaws, The wild, wild west stunt show, Jurassic park river adventure, WaterWorld, Bactdraft and Back to the future: The ride. Along the way, there are quizzes, resturants you can eat at, shops, even parades. There's a Fastpass in this game, though the game you cannot use an inventatory. But sometimes, the fastpass dosen't work for some attractions (like backdraft, the wild, wild west stunt show) Some of the rides with Fastpasses are: Jaws, E.T., Jurassic Park river adventure and back to the future. Tip: The fastpasses in this game are called express passes. You can even talk to guests, name your character, even choose what it looks like. Ignore the bad reveiws and have fun at universal studios.
