I came into this game and didn't know what to expect. I was amazed. For starters, half-life 2 was insane and i just beat it. I didn't start episode one yet but after i beat all of the half life 2s i plan on going back and replaying them. Half life 2 is the best single player expierence i have ever had with a shooting game. The first few levels are fun but once you get every weapon oh man it is fun. Anyone who hasnt played half life 2 yet here are the list of weapons: 9mm pistol, SMG, .357 pistol, shotgun, crowbar, pulse rifle, sniper crossbow, grenade, rocket launcher, pods that will let you shoot enemies at things (only effective in 2 levels) and last but not least the gravity gun. In the last 2 levels the gravity gun gets maxed out and is insane. Next is portal i am at test chamber 18 and i have had a blast with this game. Although it sounds different it is loads of fun. It is simple you shoot portals and go through them. It is pretty hard and some of the last testchambers but it is fun. Last but not least Team Fortress 2. This game is fun and trying different classes is loads of fun. I havent played it that much but when i did play i had a lot of fun. It is pretty easy to pick up and play and trying out different clases is sweet.
Note: I am adding to Team Fortress 2 here. Team Fortress 2 is a lot of fun. People may be turned away by its cartoon graphics but don't. TF2 is really fun because of the classes. I have tried every class and all are fun to play as. I tried out every class and switch off between classes. Sometimes if i am doing bad i will become a spy and sneak behind enemy lines and wreak havoc. Every class is a lot of fun to play and anyone with xbox live should check it out.
Overall: For the normal 60 bucks you are paying this game is a lot of gameplay hours. This game is not for everyone so for people who are playing half life for the first time RENT IT FIRST. If you like it i encourage you buy it but if you dont well that stinks because this game is amazing.
A Must Have! To add 2 any 360 Collection!

The Orange Box, is deffinatly the greatest purchase iv ever made in all gaming. Since i already played Half Life 2 before (PC), it took me about 17 hours or so on normal. Keep in mind, this is extremely unusual for an First Person Shooter. So it took me a little less time then it did on my first run-through. Episode 1 & 2 are unbeliably more enjoyable then i would have expected. Episode 2 in general, is quite steller and you certainly will want to watch the story unfold until the very end; by which time you feel so emotionally attached to the characters in the story, that it's hard to put the controller down and watch the last few seconds. Heck, im sure gamers would be happy with HL 2, episode 1 & 2 but Valve wanted to make us even more happier by including Portal & Team Fortress. the depth that portal puts into it's puzzles is far more advanced then i would have imagined and the addictivness of it all is very high. Team Fortress is my least played one but only because iv gotton so many other great games as of recently. Overall i would give the whole package a 10 out of 10; Half Life 2 - 10, Episode 1 - 9.5, Episode 2 - 9.75, Portal - 9.25, Team Fortress - 9.25
This is my estimated breakdown of how long i spent playing each game till the end. -
Half Life 2 - 17 Hrs
Half Life 2: Episode 1 - 10 hrs
Half Life 2: Episode 2 - 12 hrs
Portal - 13 hrs
Team Fortress 2 - 4 hrs
Great games at a bargin price.

The Orange Box is 5 great games in one package on one disc. All of the games are first person shooter style games. However Portal doesn't have much actual shooting because it features a unique puzzle/strategy twist to its gameplay. Team Fortress 2 is exclusively Xbox Live or system link and has no local multiplayer, so it is useless unless you have Xbox Live pretty much. All of the games are very fun if you like first person shooters, and at the price of one game for 5 games, you can't afford to not buy this game.
Some general advice I have is to just never buy preorder games from Amazon, even with one day shipping you will get your games anywhere between 3-14 days after the game has come out. Amazon consistently has "stocking problems" and says that the shipment is allegedly "late" but if the game is already out then by all means buy it.
Stop reading, go buy this game

If you liked the original Team Fortress, you should go buy the Orange Box. If you like playing games like Halo (2,3,whatever) online, then you should go buy the Orange Box. Be sure to match the version you get with what your friends have though! Players with the Xbox version play Team Fortress 2 on different servers than players with the PC version. The cap on the number of players on a map is also smaller on the Xbox version as well. Shouldn't be an issue, so long as you make sure you get whatever your friends have. If you have no friends, then perhaps you shouldn't buy this game and should get out more.
Once you decide to take a break from Team Fortress 2, you should play Portal. It is a relatively quick game (2-3 hours to play through), but is probably the most fun I've had playing games in a long time. I won't spoil it too much, but it is a puzzle game with an incredibly twisted sense of humor.
I actually haven't played the Half Life games yet, but friends who have played them say that the new one is on par with the previous ones. Honestly though, you're making out like a bandit with just Portal and Team Fortress 2 in the box and you really don't need any more justification than those two to go buy this package.

A value that puts all other values in the video game industry to shame. Five next-gen games, 30, maybe even 40 plus hours of play. One disk, under 70 bucks.
Orange Box contains enough material to keep any hardcore gamer busy for a month. One single DVD holds the full Half Like 2 game, with it are the two semi-squeals/expansion packs Episodes One and Two that show Alex and Gordon escaping the Citadel, fleeing City 17 and drive deep into the game world's mountain wilderness. Capping off with a new puzzle game whose very concept that turns the laws of physics on it's head, if not breaking them, and a silly, highly addictive multiplayer that requires teamwork instead of running pell-mell into the opposing team.
Four of the games contain commentaries by the programmers and even some of the voice actors that give a deep insight into the making of a game. The 3 year old graphic engines still holds it own against the newer games like Halo 3 and Mass Effect. Alex's facial expressions are almost real, she smiles, she frowns, she laughs, looks puzzled, and even embarrassed.
Even if your not a collector and swap your games at Game Crazy or Game Stop, this is one that you will want to keep

I loved the original regular xbox version of half life 2 and it was one of my favorite xbox games despite the the frustrating loading issues (that seemed to come on every 30 seconds or so). The Orange box for the 360 isnt buggy at all and includes a non buggy version of the original half life 2. This alone is worth the $59, but the 2 new installations of half life 2 (episode 1 & 2) are greatness, and could be a stand alone sale as well.
Episode One seemed shorter than episode two and was more of an urban battle, where Episode Two is out in the wilderness and you get to use a vehicle (similar action to the dune buggy in HL2)! The puzzles also seemed more intricate in Episode 2. Together Ep 1&2 represent the best sequel to any video game I've played. Halo sequels have become unimaginative and tiresome. This was well thought out and well done, a real roller coaster ride that is totally immersive with some new enemies.
One negative, is that I wish they offered some sort of coop campaign through xbox live or some sort of battle royale in the HL2 environments with HL2 weapons through Live.
That said, this is one of the greatest sequels ever. I havent even played the other two games on the disc but based just on the HL2 part it is five stars all the way.
5 Awsome games in 1 box! You can't go wrong with this one!

I've been a big Half Life fan from the first PC game years ago. Half Life 2 is a whole game in itself and with "The Orange Box", you not only get Half Life 2 but all the expansion packs with it! It's hours of quality gameplay for the price of one. You can't go wrong with this purchase. I am also currently deployed over seas and recieved my package within a week.

The Orange Box. All five components are excellent, with Half-Life 2 and Episode Two being the two finest single-player first-person shooters on Xbox 360. Accessing the five games is easy, thanks to a simple, but elegant menu system. You can hop into any of the Half-Life components without having beaten the prior versions. So, if you've played Half-Life 2 before, you can skip it (though you really should play it again), and go right into the episodic content.
Awesome Games, All of them!!

I originally bought this game for Portal. Then I got into the Half-Life series and I got hooked right away. The campaigns take a long time and are very challenging, even on the easy level. Every game on the disk is a LOT of fun though. A great deal for the money!
