Best. Weather. Ever.

PGR4 totally lives up to what PGR3 should have been. The career mode is actually has a bit of depth to it, the arcade mode is classic PGR medals comps, the online racing is superb and they use a very halo-esque party system.

The most impressive thing however, is the weather. You have light rain, heavy rain, storms, wet... and those are just the 'water' types of weather! You have icy conditions, various levels of snow, etc. It actually makes a huge difference to the handling (as it should) and you can even see the weather change during races. It starts out a bit rainy and you end with lap three on the 'ring drying out on the pavement and it just shows a great attention to detail not often found in games.

the online community has sorta fizzled out a bit but on the plus side, I've yet to run into any jerks playing online unlike most other big-name games (COD, Halo, etc.)

A must own for any fan of good games.

PGR4 is the best in the series so far, I was expecting the graphics on the cars to be a little bit better, but the environments are where the graphics really shine. Cities like New York, are amazingly detailed and accurate in the placement of buildings such as city hall and the peter cooper village. And shanghai shows in great detail the "Bund" area as well as the side streets that show real life small buildings that you would think a game developer would not care to add.
One of the few problems that I have with the game is that when you are racing with a motorcycle it is very easy to blow through the game quickly. The motorcycles can take corners much quicker then the cars and it creates an unfair advantage and usually creates a huge lead by the first lap pretty much eliminating the competition.
The career mode is very fun and makes you want to continually advance and get new cars or bikes to get the edge against the other races, but he way you buy cars though is a little strange now. The game forces you to buy bundles, which I don't really like. But regardless of a few small qualms with the game it is overall a very fun experience and worth the low price that you can find it here. Definitely a recommended title for racing fans or people looking to try a new game.

Great Addition to the series

I'm a huge fan of the PGR series and PGR4 has delivered and nearly perfected the PGR formula. The game is amazingly fun both online and off, has incredible graphics yet to be matched by another racing game on the market, and will surely keep you entertained for the foreseeable future.

Bizarre Creations just announced additional content available for download introducing 7 new cars and 3 new bikes.

I'm blown away by this game and for the current price you can't go wrong.

PGR4 sucks in so many ways. I bought this game because I thought it would be awesome visually, but the graphics are actually pretty dull. They just didn't impress me. It just wasn't very pretty or interesting to look at. The cars handle REALLY badly! Most of the cars seem to handle MUCH worse than real life cars. I crashed into the corners so much that it's like I was playing bumper cars. The cars slip and slide so much, they handle worse than a BOAT!! You might as well be driving on a glass surface lubricated with oil! This is nothing like when I drive my own car! Next, the tracks are terrible! Most of the time the tracks are extremely narrow, often just ONE lane wide. PLUS they have many ridiculously sharp turns, which means you have to come to almost a full stop to go around them without crashing. This is just absolutely horrible! It really ruins the flow of the driving and ruins any possible enjoyment when you have to crash and crawl around all these stupid, narrow hairpin turns. Also the game gives you NO sense of speed. Like when you are driving 130 miles per hour, it looks like you are driving only 30 miles per hour. This game feels SLOW. Since I drive a car of my own, I should know what different speeds look like, and driving in PRG4 does not feel fast at all. So when you put all the above really bad elements together, you have a game that really really blows. There is just no sense of fun, imagination, or beauty in PRG4. They obviously put almost no effort into making the gameplay fun. Also, I really disliked that they give you only really lame, stupid cars in the beginning and you have to play this awful game for hours and hours in order to be able to buy the really cool cars. Lastly - they left out Paris!!! Paris is my favorite city! That really sucks! I really wanted to drive past the Eiffel tower. Everyone knows that Paris is the most beautiful, fabulous city in the world, so it was really stupid to leave it out of PRG4. I feel gypped by that! I really think they put very little effort into this "game." I don't think it's truly a game. I think it's just something they slapped together without fully developing something that's fun and interesting to play. Trackmania United is far better than PRG4 or any other racing game. I also liked San Francisco Rush. I wish they'd make new versions of those games for Xbox 360.

Quite possibly the worst racing game I have ever played.

I would like to comment for a minute on how terrible this game is. Usually I do not like to leave reviews for anything, it's just not my style; however, after recently playing this game, I became so irritated that I felt it completely necessary to share my anger with others. First off, it is not a racing game. It is a game about elementary "showing off" on a course with fancy cars. You get points for power slides, wheelies, peeling out, and all sorts of other things you cringe if it happened to you on a real race track. You may think to yourself, "that sounds like fun!" And believe me, it does! But in the harsh reality we live in, it is not. In fact, it is far from fun. You cannot race whichever car you please whenever you please. I personally like growing through the ranks with a terrible car and slowly tuning it up and saving enough money to buy another car. You are required to follow guidelines and only cars within a certain "class," which shows how poorly of a developed game it is. I thought the game was about free spirited driving. Well which is it Bizarre? Ladies and gentleman, listen to me, please. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!! DO NOT EVEN RENT IT!! DO NOT EVEN ALLOW THOUGHTS OF POSSESSING THIS GAME IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM EVEN COME INTO YOUR MIND!! and what in the world is up with Kudos? Speaking of Kudos, congratulations on developing such an awful piece of non-entertainment.

This is quite simply the best racing game I have ever played. It is literally two games. one is a car racer while the other is a motorcyle racer. The game features both a very extensive arcade mode and also a great career mode. Online is also a blast. Overall this game is very challenging and a must buy.

I got this from Gamefly on Saturday, and I've been playing it all weekend. This is definately the most beautiful racing game I've ever seen, and really shows what the 360 is capable of.

The racing is solid, the sounds are great, and the cockpit view is as immersive as it gets. I'm a big Forza fan, and the differences in the driving is clear after your first powerslide, but Gotham does a good job of accenting some of your favorite things about cars and driving without going over the top, and leaving you with a believable and visually appealing experience. The driving in Forza is still more rewarding, as far as the cars go. But the BIKES!! I ride an SV 650 myself, and I've been waiting for a serious motorcycle racing game. The motoGP series is decent, but its lacking a lot in excitement. Gotham integrates the motorcycles into the races almost perfectly. Their performance is balanced, and shows strengths and weaknesses everywhere they should, except for the crashing. The bikes are more resistant to impact then they would be in reality, to prevent the cars from just ramming them off the roads...and the weather system was really a suprise. I wasn't very enthusiastic to hear that all of the hype behind it, but it really adds some serious depth to the came.

I could go on and on about how [...] COOL this game is, but if you don't at least rent it, you won't be able to appreciate it.

UNEVENTFUL AND SOMEWHAT BORING 5.5 OUT OF 10

I can honestly say I did not have much fun with PGR4. PGR3 was okay, but this one feels downgraded and less exciting than most other racers I've played (Though not as bad of an experience as Gran Turismo 3 A-Spec; I hate that game). The tracks are not very interesting to look at, the controls feel unresponsive at times during things like turning a corner without crashing into a wall, there is no crash modeling at all, the cars feel slow don't give you a sense of speed, and the background music just isn't interesting. Some moments like some racing sequences, knocking some dude off his motorcycle, some multiplayer activities, and decent graphics prevent this game from slipping into the depths of crappiness, but still there isn't derived from it, and that's pretty disappointing.

My kind of racing game

Some racing games are a little too sim for me, like Gran Turismo and Forza. I don't care about adjusting gear ratios.

Some racing games are a little too arcade for me, like Burnout.

Some racing games just aren't my style, like the NFS street racing games of the last few years. I don't want to lower my car and get a huge wing on my Eclipse.

I still enjoy those racing games, but for me, PGR 4 (and PGR 3) is a perfect combination of simulation and arcade racing. The feel is "sim" enough to require a lot of practice to get really good, but forgiving enough to be fun from the start. The graphics are fantastic, the online play is great, and even the music is diverse and entertaining.

Also, You can drive amazing cars from the beginning, unlike GT, Forza, and NFS. I don't like being stuck with a Mazda Miata for the first few days. I see a lot of Miata's in real life. This is a videogame. I want to drive a Ferrari.

Get this game if you're looking for a great all-around racing game.
