This is one of the worst games ever released for xbox, but thats not the point, the point to buy this game is that its the only way to transfer music and videos to you xbox without hacking it. So this is definately a primo choice for only 9 bucks. So if you want to transfer files to your xbox this is your one and only choice w/ out voiding your warrenty. Definate a worthy buy.
Music Mixer is actually pretty good for a mere $20.

I don't know why this has received such a bum rap. For only $20 you get the ability to transfer your files to your xbox. Sure, MP3s take longer, but WMAs are pretty fast. Make sure to turn your firewall off or open ports TCP 3074 and UDP 3074 if you are using the wireless adapter and a router.
Also, the Karaoke is actually pretty fun. My kids and I hooked up the microphone and the xbox live headseat and had fun singing and then listening to the recorded performances. Most of the included songs are pretty bad, but there are a couple of good ones. The vocal stipper works OK too, or you can just sing along and not worry about it.
Again, this is only a $20 set-up, not a $200 Karaoke machine. I think it performs adequately given the price. Yes the controls can be confusing but the ability to share music files with the xbox is great and I've gotten $20 of fun out of this.
Not bad at all!!

I've really enjoyed the musicmixer, being able to transfer all my MP3's and Jpeg photos was very easy and to me worth the money. The Karokee is pretty neat as well...

I have read some reviews that were terrible about the Music Mixer. I see it like this: If you want a fun add-on to your xbox for only $40, this is definately worth the money. If you are looking for a high-end karoake machine, this is not it.
What a POS, do NOT waste your time

I was hoping to find a simple way to play mp3s across a network on the xbox. This product looked promising. I realized that it would not stream the music from a share but rather require importing, however I thought I would give it a try.
What a horrible, horrible product. I am giving it one star becauae it at least has potential.
Microsoft, listen up. This product sucks. Its interface is horrible, its too cludgy, doing simple things are not simple.
For instance, transfering songs onto the unit works with id3 tags. I hate this. Let it work with file names for frig sakes. I dont want to sort by album or genre, I want to be able to sort by folder!
Piece of crap. [...]

Mixer is mostly a music player, karaoke machine, slide show viewer, video mixer, and visualizer collection (bong not included).
It is not a music making program, but it is an awesome and INEXPENSIVE karaoke machine with a good mic if you already have an xbox.
The only "professional" thing it can do is interactively mix and blend videos with special effects to the beat of any song or under your control.

My mother bought this for the family since it had to do with Karaoke and one could sing into a microphone and hear their voice out of the Television for all to admire or painfully listen through because they love you. And maybe do some of the many "options" available while you're at it. But the reason I liked this game is the option to import MP3's and WMA's onto the Xbox. Unfortunately, except for the importer, this game is a heedlessly made abnormality trying to make it on the karaoke scene. Be Warned: This game is NOTHING like the hit Karaoke Revolution on the PS2. In fact, it is not even close to it at all. Sadly, I am too late with this warning for consumers. So many of you are most likely disappointed with this game. But with the cheap genius that is Microsoft, they took out a page from a little game called Madden 2002. Where EA made very few changes to the game at all, yet they just put on the Madden trademark and they had turned trash into gold. Just substitute few changes to Windows-style eye candy and Madden trademark with an MP3 Importer, and you have a match made in heaven! And even worse than this is that people have bought this game and they will continue to buy this game only for the Importer. It is Sheer Madness!!!!
Pros: 1. The MP3 Importer (Finally fixes the infamous unreadable CD-RW problem on the Xbox)
2. Windows-Style Eye Candy (SO distracted)
Cons: 1. Windows-Style Eye Candy (SO hypnotizing)
2. Actual songs, but very cheesy versions of them (If we wanted this, we'd torture ourselves with Kidz Bop!!!)
3. Very Limited Video making capabilities.
4. Songs downloadable for $5 (like any poor sap would download them anyway?)
5. WIll cost more money for Peripherals for Importing (you first have to download the PC exporter off the internet (free), but the System link cable for connecting the two will cost you $30!)
6. And the worst sin of all for a Karaoke game: You can barely hear yourself out of the speakers!!!!!! Even with the mic set on the highest volume you still can barely hear yourself over the voices (hey, maybe they were saving the family members from certain torture) But as I said, Sheer Madness!!!!!
Final Verdict: The only reason you are ever going to come along this game in the future is for the MP3 importer and only for the MP3 Importer. This is NOT a party tool, that Abominaton that is named Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing is a better party tool than this (Okay, maybe i'm stretching it way too far, let's just leave it at Halo) But yes, If you have MP3's and you want to put them on the Xbox, this is your only option (makes me sad to say that.)
it's alright but not great

this thing has an option to take the voice off when doing karaoke but it's no good so it's only good for singing to karaoke songs already on there and u can only transfer to the xbox and not back to the computer which really sucks

I bought this because it said I could transfer MP3 and pictures to my xbox. This has been done successfully three times. I repeatedly have problems with it not being able to connect to my PC. The interface is clunky. Save your money and get a linksys media adapter. This is but another example of Microsoft stealing a good idea and ruining it.

Read the bottom of the package when you get it- specifically says "wash your hands" after use to avoid cancer. Real nice.
