Much Too Short

In three words that really sums it up for me. The game itself is pretty fun, but I ended up beating it in a day because it was just too short. I was also disappointed with the ending being much too easy and hurried. Additionally, I second whoever wrote in their review that the camera angles are just not helpful and that the issue of losing your beans every time you're hit is such a pain. I suppose that was it really.. most of the levels are pretty fun, just not long enough.

Much better the 2nd time around

We are a family of Harry Potter fans. I am actually a bigger fan than my two boys (40 and a fan gheez, makes mom proud!) We rented the first one the graphics on the 2nd game (Chamber of Secrets) are so much more superior and the game is more challenging and although my 8 year old finish the game to the end in one long evening *very long evening* but it is still fun. It gave him a sense of contentment. He was able to beat the game so he is smarter than the game. That sort of stuff. He is now mentoring my 5 year old on how to play. (he was less interested)
I think the perfect age group is 6 to 101 well at least 40 + since I am not a gamer and I play harry potter because...well because I can!

VERY, VERY, VERY dissapointing

This game is the worst game I have ever played! ok, so not as bad as Syberia for xbox but bad enough that I would rate it 2 stars! even though the storyline is ok, the game ended to quickly. Also, the battle scenes (Harry practicing his magic on the washing machine) was very fake and very boring. The washing machine moved in a pattern all the time so there was no surprise to what it would do next.

If you ever want to play this game, I suggest that you should be able to withstand the annoying save games (you can't allways save the game whenever you want). So go ahead and give it a try if you aren't afraid of wasting your money.

Cute and fun game.

I loved playing Harry and the animation, music, and settings are beautiful. I only wish the teachers played a more important part and Gilderoy exposed like in the book and movie.

Also, Aragog was more tough to beat than the Basilisk, but still I enjoyed this game and have played it many times since.

Good game, but.....

First off, this is a very good game. My wife played it, and I watched (I'm writing the review for her). Anyway, she has read all of the books, and we both enjoyed the two movies that are out very much. So we thought we would rent this game and see if it was worth buying.

The game is very, very fun, and addictive. It's hard to find a good stopping point, and you just continue on and on. The game stays somewhat true to the movie, but wavers enough to keep the story interesting (after all, who wants to just play the movie word-for-word?).

However, because of the addictiveness of the game, the largest shortcoming becomes apparent pretty quickly: the game is too short. My wife played it over a course of about 3 or 4 days, for maybe a total of 10 hours, and she beat it. Games are becoming too short, and I can't justify spending $... on a game that can be beaten in 10 hours. On the plus side, the game continues after you have beaten the last character, as there is a side quest to find all of the jelly beans to complete a set. You can trade jelly beans with other non-player characters, or find them in objects. So you can actually end up spending many more hours trying to do this. But if you ignore that part and simply run through the game, it is much too short for such a fun game.

The Best Game Ever

This Game is really good for all ages and is a good way to get your children to read the books too. As they get in the game they get interested and when you show them the Harry Potter seris they pick it up and read all of them. We had the Sorsoros Stone and We picked up the Book and read all of them in the summer and they really liked it.

Great for the kids, not for the parents...

Please keep in mind that my rating is based on an adult perception. My thoughtful sisters(aged 17 and 15)bought me this game for Christmas knowing that I was a covert "Harry Potter" fan. The game is great for kids. Challenges were both unique and well constructed throughout the game, and were kept very simple for the young'uns. Moving through the game was made simple by a system in which all you do is walk around and when an obstacle presents itself, you push a button to do what the system tells you to. This was probably the most annoying factor I found in the game, but again it IS a kid's game. Maneuverability was greatly hindered by the difficulty in the controls. I found it very hard to turn and such while the game maintained the correct camera angles. Graphics were very stunning and kept up with the outstanding performance the XBOX is known for. The character interaction was a little lacking, and mainly pertained to the task at hand. The game did a great job of following the storyline of the original book, though. Of course it had it's own embellishments to keep the game exciting. In conclusion, go ahead and pick it up for the kids, or for yourself if you enjoy the "simple pleasures" in life.

This game is great. I would question the buttons and handling myself but the magic and action makes up the missiong star. This is a great game for anyone.

Great game! Days of fun.

I bought this game for my wife, because she is a Harry Potter nut! She loves it and has played it through multiple times. The spells and interface were great, along with great character animations, detailed environments, and -lets not forget- Quiditch (I can catch the snitch in 55 seconds).

This Game Was GREAT!

EA has done it again! This time, they brought back the epic adventure based on the novel by J.K. Rowling. With fun features and exciting settings, you'll want to play day after day after day! The bad parts are: you can only save at special places (what if I get stuck somewhere? :(), the game ends VERRRRY quickly, the Chamber of Secrets is WAAAAY too easy, and everyone in the game has no life! (You'll see why if you buy, CHA-CHING!) The adventure never stops, and your heart quickens with every step. Every spell is exciting, and every turn you make can alter the course of your path.
