Many secrets and hidden character that you can get.
Collecting the original game and music scores will have you repeating the levels. But the levels have different paths you can take. Audio track for both English and Japanese are superb.
Great Castlevania, but...

First of all, I enjoy the Castlevanias that I currently own. So far, all of them have great controls. But Rondo of Blood... the graphics was great and the openings are great with one major problem: the controls suck. It's like the developers didn't take their time fixing that problem. Symphony of the Night was great and even though I have to unlock that game by putting up with this crappy one, then so be it. Once it's beaten and the game is unlocked, i won't turn back. Screw Rondo of Blood. The controls are outdated and the levels are too short it reminds me of those cheesy computer games from back in the early nineties.
Best game to never come out

I bought a turbo duo for this game back in 98', played it then loved it. Now I bought PSP for this game over the summer. Its amazing, a MUST have and the graphical improvements really bring it up to the level of younger more graphic-oriented gamers. Its great that you get the original version, so you can see just how freaking hard it really is. Throw in Symphony of the Night and you have yourself a lot of vampire whipping fun in time for Halloween!

its finally here and i wanna say im lovin it. first off this game is a remake of one of the best castlevania games ever made. the thing is it was never released in the u.s. well it was and wasnt because when it was released it was really sloppy and wasnt the same at all. this game was made for the pc engine but it was released for the snes.(dont ask me why) but this time not only do u get the original game and the remake you also get another master peice because it includes symphony of the night. so why havent you bought it? now be warned though, this game can be considered hard by soft gamers and may get on your nerves. but with all the newly remastered levels, voice cast and extras its worth the challenge and 30 bucks. woa only 30 bucks? your stupid if your a fan and dont buy it.
Awesome! An updated classic to a great game!

This game is awesome! There's so many hidden areas/items in this game. Plus, with the addition of the original Rondo of Blood there's also Symphony of The Night. I couldn't believe all that in one game, wow! If you enjoyed the Castlevania's of yester-year, then you'll love this one! An instant cult classic.

You can't beat Castlevania for old-school side-scrolling action, and this collection brings two of the series finest entries together at a hell of a bargain. Buy it.

If you are buying this game to get Symphony of the Night then you will be happy with buying this game. The other two games in it are not worth the time or money. I even went as far to download a gamesave so I wouldn't have to burn time unlocking the game I actually wanted to play. I wish they'd come out with another Symphony of the Night sequel that actually followed the same format and had the role playing aspects and all the hidden items that Symphony of the Night has. Util then I keep buying these re-treads.
As for the PSP version of Symphony of the Night it is pretty spot on with the PS1 version and they don't take full avantage of the wide screen format on the PSP but at least give you some decorative bars on this sides and it isn't too annoying. I still would have preferred they just recreate Symphony of the Night to fit the PSP resolution and leave out the other games they tried to redo and include in this.

I've always enjoyed Castlevania games...well old school Castlevania games. Well...in general I'm a fan of old school games anyway. So I may be just a bit biased. However, in the end Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is a strong addition of the PSP library and Castlevania lore. "Rondo Of Blood" is a challenging in both it's original and re-invented form. Those enjoying a strong platformer look no further. This is hardcore Castlevania.
"Symphony of the Night" (the best of all the Castlevania titles) is the perfect addition to this compilation. The one complaint is that it must be unlocked in order to play it. It's not difficult to do...and lord knows video game developers love unlockables!
Pick up this treat for yourself if you're a fan of the series and want to try out "Rondo of Blood" in either of its forms. It's a great bargin and especially fun to play.
