MOH Airborne Fun 2 Play

MOH Airborne is a Relatively fun game, but really falls short of it's potential to be a great game. The game play and graphics are on Par with the PS3, but the game itself lacks some luster when compared to some of the next gen FPS games. The game is fun and very enjoyable, but you have to know what you are looking at before jumping into it. It does not have a completely open environment like it advertises. Instead you will find that you have a series of missions to accomplish, but are free to choose which mission to do at any given time. The controls are a little loose and takes some time to adjust and the AI isn't all that great. The game is not lacking in action though, so if you need a mindless free for all shooter, you can find it here.
A Good Addition to the Medal of Honor Series

This is a good addition to the series and the game is fun to play, however, there are some things I dislike about this game, which is:
- It is not compatible with the dual shock 3 controller, so no rumbling when firing your weapons. Which is totally difference then the rest of the series, that's disappointing.
- EA didn't include actual WW2 video footage, like in the rest of the series. I'm a big WW2 fan, so I enjoyed seeing what actually happened in the war.
- You can't do a military crawl like the rest of the series and I don't like the way grenades explode - it's kind-of weak.
- It's too short; which is my complaint regarding the entire series, with the exception of FRONTLINE, which is the best one out of the entire series; in my humble opinion.
If I had to rank the series (FOR PS2 & PS3 users), it would be in this order: FRONTLINE, EUROPEAN ASSAULT, AIRBORNE, RISING SUN. I put European Assault ahead of the PS3 Airborne because of the things I mention above (no actual WW2 video footage, no controller rumbling, no crawl, grenades exploding and its too short.) That's also the reason why I gave it 4 stars. If I could have giving it 3 1/2 stars then I would have. It gets 4 stars because of weapon upgrades. But all and all, it's a fun game
Setting the Standard for Military Games

OK... first off, I'll have to admit that the game is actually a 4-star. But I loved it because of the Airborne aspect of the game. It reminds me of the good ol' days from when I was with the 82nd Airborne Division. The controls took some time to get used to, but I was soon on my way to earning my medals on each mission. The graphics were a bit typical of the MOL series, but still has some great scenes and beautiful pictures. Being in the military, I quickly noticed how real the weapons, airplanes, and armored vehicles sound; really great, crisp, and authentic sounds.
All in all, I really enjoy playing this game. I'm having some trouble with my German internet provider, so i can't comment on the online play, but I'm sure I won't be disappointed when i finally go online.
great gameplay, classic medal of honor graphics

I found the game to be fun to play, but lacking in the graphics department(we don't have hdtv's out here). You can tell what they spent there time on and what they didn't. I'm forward deployed to Iraq right now, so the online review will have to wait.

I'm really into military/war type games, so I decided to give this one a shot. And I really like this game. It's a bit harder than the older MOH games, however, game play is interesting! You actually get dropped out of planes for each mission, you can land anywhere you like! You can land with your teammates, or you can land behind enemy lines, it's up to you....Each time you play the game it's always different, which is kind of refreshing in today's world of video games.
Weapons are your standard 1940's weapons (American & German), grenades, M1 Garand, bazooka, etc etc
While I do find the controls a bit awkward right now, I'm sure after some time I'll get used to them. I must say the graphics are very nice, weapons are very true to life, game play is very smooth...
Overall, great game, with HOURS upon HOURS of replay value. Remember: Each time you play, it's totally different.

you can pick on every game that comes out. call of duty 4 will be tough to compete with for a while. MOHA is different but solid. best one in the series so far. looks great, plays great. real nice production. definitely recommended.
No 4 players :(

I have every single world war 2 era game. This is not the best but its definitely worth getting. For some reason they decided to change a few buttons around. Usually the fire button is R1 but for some reason this game made it R2. Not a big deal but takes a little bit to get used to when every single game out uses R1. The graphics are good- not Call of Duty 4 but still PS3 worthy. The really neat feature is there are a bunch of small missions when you are on a level and you can decide whatever order you want to do them in. I am half way through and I really like this game. The game play and graphics are not Call of Duty 4 but still worth getting right now.

This is the first game I've played for PS3, and I was intrigued with the concept of the game. I'm a veteran of the 82nd Airborne Division, and I was thrilled to see my former job (from an earlier era of course) being brought to life. For a video game, it's a hoot, a lot of a fun to play (like all MOH games). If you like any past MOH games, you'll love this one...and while I haven't been playing it for more than a day, I'm dying to pick up the controller again.
It is great how you can start anywhere on the map from the time you jump, instead of just appearing somewhere on the battlefield to face the same enemy and watching for the same enemy movement and such. The A.I. for the enemy is pretty good, they react to what you do very well. For instance, if you start hitting them hard with grenades and automatic fire, the enemy will start pulling back and digging in, they won't just start running toward you so that you can continue to mow them down. If they're dug in with a gun, you'd better be a sharp shooter, otherwise taking out a gun is a serious hassle (as it should be).
As for the graphics, I was expecting better, but when you're dealing with MOH, the gameplay more than makes up for any deficiencies there. I highly recommend "Airborne!"
Good, but not great

I have bought nearly every game in the Medal of Honor series and I've always enjoyed them. For the PS3, I was expecting something really stellar, but I was kinda disappointed. The graphics look like PS2. If you've played Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, then you know what kind of graphics the PS3 is capable of. I guess COD 4 has spoiled me for all future FPS games. The makers of the Medal of Honor series should study that game and give us something truly mind-blowing next time.
