MMMM how should i start.... well i was NOT AT ALL happy with these games i played them for 3 or 4 hours then go sic of them personaly a was of time and money. These games are for the hardcore fans or people that are into flight simulation. when i played this game i found that the enemy IS EVERYWHERE even on the simplest setting. GO get ATV offroad fury or GTA3 those are MUCH MUCH better games and for those people that love this game i respect your thoughts and dont mean offense to you.

Space Combat is Fun!!

"Star Wars: Starfighter" & "Star Wars Jedi Starfighter" are two great games from Lucas Arts. In both games you take part in side stories during the movie leading to the climax of each film. Both games offer adjustable difficulty, training modes, bonus missions, and bonus material with secrets to unlock. Jedi Starfighter is the only one that has a two-player mode on the PS2.

"Starfighter" takes place during "Episode I". It allows you fly as three different characters, two in fighters (Rhys, Vana) and one a heavy fighter/bomber (Nym). Each plane has it's own advantages and disadvantages that complement each pilot and their personalities nicely. The story is as good as any in the Star Wars universe (the game got a spin-off comic). The voice acting is also enjoyable making the pilots seam more real. The game difficulty increases steadily for every mission you play. Each level/mission has a set of goals that must completed in order to win. There are also a few bonus objectives that, if completed, open extra material and missions. Music is very fitting for each level and takes you right into the Star Wars universe. One drawback is probably the load time as it can be a little slow as compared to other games. This is minor compared to great graphic quality of the game and smooth game play. Also for those of us who are avid gamers, this one might seam a little short. Despite that, this is a game worth having.

"Jedi Starfighter" differs from the original right-off-the-bat by allowing two-player co-op and head-to-head modes. Even more interesting is that they're some items and missions that can only be unlocked with a second player. Other differences include a new character, the Jedi Master Adi Gallia, which uses the same Starfighter that Obi-Wan did in "Episode II". While the ship isn't very powerful it's very maneuverable, and Adi's powers make up the shortfall of any secondary weapon (i.e. force shields and force lighting). The second plane is the Havoc, flown by Nym. This is the more powerful of the two with its missiles, mines, and rechargeable plasma bombs. Aside from that the game is primarily the same as "Starfighter". With the two-player mode and increased bonus items, including new ships to pilot, this one a higher replay value than the original game.

I personally take pleasure in these games very much and hope that if another is made in the series that it has online head-to-head fighting. That would ROCK! Two for one is a great deal in just about any situation, especially for two entertaining games like these. Remember these are Flight Simulations; if you don't like flying don't get these games. If you are a Star Wars fan this is a deal you don't want to miss.

Great deal, lots of action

Star Wars fans will enjoy the game. Graphics are so-so, but easy gameplay (compared to Rogue Squadron) and lots of spacecraft available to fly between the two games. the Republic Gunship is also superb to have in Jedi Starfighter.
