Very fun as a multi-player!

The stroy-line isn't very good, but It is a great game for people who like to kill evil beasts or if you have lot's of people in the house!

A great multi-player game for sure!

Just don't buy it unless you like LOTS of killing and/or multi-player games!

It DOES take up loads of memory space, though...

Great multi player game...disturbing story line

Gauntlet Legends is a great multi player game if you have the friends. It does get boring as a single player, fast. The graphics are less than spectacular (as with ALL Midway Dreamcast games), but the sound is passable. The game has a disturbing story line which is kind of a turn off and if not for that it would be a great game.

Worth getting if you play it as a multi player, if not then you can let it slip under the radar

The only complaint i have for this game is that it uses 1 whole memory card, no other room to save a game on it. But it's as fun to play with as the arcade version.

This game is alright. Its sortof borring because all you do is shoot people arcade style. It has poor graghics, when your playing with your friend you can't even tell who's who if your the same color. All in all this game is ok.

The best game yet

This is my favorite game that has came out on dreamcast, the plot isn't the best but the fun is nonstop. They have plenty of characters to choose from and the multi player battles rule. The game is niether to easy or to hard, you will play this for hours before you ever want to stop!

Arcade games, a genre of game that should be fun and action packed. Gauntlet Legends is just that, fun, action packed and plotless. Well, it does have a small plot but one that you really shouldn't concern yourself with. You can choose from a variety of characters to play as, each with its own special power to go through a maze shooting, destroying and surviving hundreds, sometimes thousands of enemies, collecting gold, food and power-ups. All this in order to collect rune stones and defeat the evil Skorne.

Up to four player simultaneous makes this an ultimate party game. With the 12 characters, all-new levels for the Dreamcast version, cooperative combos and 20 in-game quests you will be playing this along time. There are even levels and characters to unlock. The graphics are awesome and game play mindless and fun, this is a winner.

Unfortunately the camera sometimes makes this a frustrating romp into hell. Also the sound gets repetitive and annoying. So this game is not without its flaws, but all can be forgiven for the fun that Gauntlet Legends gives you.

A Legend, NOT!

It's a shooter, you run around through a maze shooting. You find occasional powerups, and you shoot. You go into different levels and worlds and shoot. Not much skill involved. All you need is 2 thumbs/controller/half a brain and shoot! I guess shooters are just not my BAG! Graphics and gameplay are good. Didn't play it long enough to actually find the plot (2 weeks or so, surprised even that long) Shooters just isn't my favorite genre, and my review may in someway be biased. If your into shooters, then its your call, but as for my personal opinion, this game is ok. Maybe a little fun with multiplayers, but replay value=( Try to find it used, or wait for the price to go down. This game get's 3 stars: Grade: C. Gamer247 is OUT! GAME ON!

One of the few awesome American-made games

Most American-made games that are released for a console system are low budget, uninspired trash. Midway has been responsible for quite a few horrible games in the past, but this is not the case with Gauntlet Legends. For those unfamiliar with Gauntlet, it's a multiplayer romp through dungeons and caves with a medievil theme. The gameplay is rather simple, as you only really have a few attacks for each character. This makes extended one player sessions kind of tedious and boring, but it's the multiplayer mode which brings out the real fun in this game. In addition to containing everything from the arcade version, Midway has added a few new levels from the arcade update, Gauntlet: Dark Legacy. You even have more characters to choose from, which is always a welcome feature. The music is nicely composed, and fits the mood of the game well. The only obvious flaw with Gauntlet Legends is the choppy frame rate when the action gets intense. There's also some noticable frame rate problems during the cinemas. Even though there's a couple of rough spots, Gauntlet Legends is absolutely one of the best action/role-playing games to come out in a long time.

Not recommended!

I boughty Gaunlet Legends a few months back when my friends were coming over. I played it for about a week and haven't played it since. The game's sounds and graphics are not bad, but the game gets extremely boring after a while. Even in multiplayer it is the same old thing again and again, the bad guys keep coming and coming. The worlds you can explore are dark and shabby.

The only good point about this game is that it is one of the few multiplayer games which allows two people to explore a world at the same time. Furthermore the game does not really harness any of the features the Dreamcast was designed for.

I would not recommend buying this game.
