I loved the game, but I think if your serious about poker there may be a
few things you might like added. A teaching mode where you receive
comments on your play. A percentage indicator telling you your chances
of winning (part of the teaching mode).
Also the announcers comments are so boring and so repetitive you could
barf, thank god you can turn it off. The comments should be more
informative (yes teaching mode).
So you wonder why I gave it 4 stars, well because I enjoy playing the
poker side of it. Its fun worth 4 stars.
Never saw that coming!

I was just playing this game and pulled a three of a kind sevens. I went all in with another player. Turned out he had a three of a kind sevens, also. That's six sevens. How does that happen? Isn't there only four in a deck, or have I been living in the twilight zone all this time? Either way, I know I've never seen that in a real poker game.

I really enjoyed playing this game. I am an avid fan of poker and it's great to get some practice in on something other than the internet. It can be very difficult too and is fun for people of all skill levels none-the-less.

World Series of Poker (the so-called official game) is a farce. The game is completely programmed to make you lose. The player does not have the freedom to be aggressive or bully. The game is programmed to make you play one style, and that is controlled poker. If you get too aggressive the computer will automatically give the opponent a bigger hand. Also, even when you adjust your play to the computers style, the opponents still "suck out" all the time. The opponent players will raise and call with hands that even the worst amateur players wouldn't dare play. Therefore the gameplay is completely unrealistic. Another example of the unrealistic programming you can find in this game is when you fold a hand and then watch the opponents go against each other. They will turn over some of the worst cards and hands you've ever seen, and then you can go up against those same players and they will turn over emmaculate hands. The opponents don't vary their style, the computer only adjusts to the fact that "You" are in the hand. If you want to lose all the time buy this game. If you want to constantly play your best and still lose, buy this game. If you want to feel like you have the worst luck in the world, buy this game.
Anyone who knows anything about poker and has played online and in real games can attest to this game being a joke. Why the previous 10 or so reviewers on this site rave about the game is beyond my understanding. The game looks cool, but once you lose to an opponent holding a J 7 or Q 4, while you raise the pot with an A K or Q Q after playing for about 4 hours trying to win a tournament bracelet, you'll not only wanna break the game but your TV as well. Like I said, and its worth repeating so you get the message, the game adjusts to the simple fact that "You" are in the hand, thereby cheating to beat you. And almost everytime you go all in the opponent will either have a much weaker hand that they suck out with, or you will be completely dominated by an opponent that has been playing garbage all day. Oh, and good luck trying to put a bad beat on them, cuz it ain't gonna happend. Poker players know that bad beats happen and they hit everyone. Not in this game though, they only hit you. You can play perfect but the game still makes you lose and thats not the EXCEPTION, that is every time you sit down to play this game RULE.

With that being said, its the best poker game out there ive seen so far. I do like how it has alot of the different tournaments, and not just the final WSOP. Its a 4 in my book mainly because for anyone that plays for money, you will feel like you wasted hours of your time when you win and have nothing to show for it. If you are interested in learning more about the game, or just have no desire to ever play for money, this is by far the game for you. Otherwise, save the 30 bucks and play on pokerstars or partypoker and enjoy the excitement of what makes poker such a catchy game.
Great Poker game...better then the rest...

This one is real. A Doyle hand is a 10/3. Players go "all in" on it in real life. I live in vegas and see this all the time. It is gambling. This one game is better then WCP2 and Stacked. I have all of them. This one has all the features you want. Realistic hands. You lose with A/K or Pocket rockets sometimes. Quick play. Good graphics. Cool intros. Chips are on the table (stacked doesn't even have a stack of chips!), players walk away (stacked player's turn black!), ESPN coverage!, extra custom players if you like colors you could adjust RGB as needed! cool feature. Cool music. Options to change tons of stuff. Great games and really fun gameplay. Decent interface with decent videos if you win (could be better though). It is like watching espn sometimes.

I got this as a Christmas gift and I LOVE it.
This is the kind of game you look forward to playing after work. Kids will be bored, but if you've ever played Texas Hold 'Em, or watched it on TV you will enjoy this. I like playing in "career mode" the best, where you can design your own character and go toe to toe with the pro players. I agree that the graphics are not the greatest. Who cares?!? This isn't Grand Theft Auto, it's a card game. If you want to work on your poker game, relax, and have a blast, you can't pass this one up.
Wow.

This is a very good game. This is worth a round of applause for quite a few reasons. The Quickplay mode is a very good way to spend a few minutes with WSOP Superstars. The Career mode is great. You get to play any kind of poker you see on TV along with the Main Event. The main event is awesome! You get the sights, sounds, and feeling that you'd see at a real poker table. I did one without saving and doing cheats with my friend, we finished 37th. Alone, with a little help from my dad, I bent the rules a little & I finished 1st. The prize, over $13 million. Now, the cons. The graphics are terrible when a person is moving their lips. They look like a combination of a chipmunk and a baby with baby cheeks, but you can easily phase that out. Unlike WPT, your opponent always seems to win when you have a decent hand, and when you get a crappy hand and fold it, you usually would've won if you stayed in. Let's say you folded 9-3 offsuit. The flop comes 9-3-King. Checks all around. The flop, a 5, nothing helpful. Someone bets, other person calls. The river, another 3. You folded a full house. The winner has an ace high. That gets you really pissed off. One time, I got so pissed off. I folded 8-Jack of Hearts. I folded what would've been a straight flush. Man, I was so PO'd. The last con, the gameplay is WAY too aggressive. Everytime you've got a good hand, someone comes out betting or raising. You always think hard, and you fold. Most of time, though, their hand is crap. You want to punch yourself for folding. That is what brings this game down. Still a good title though.
This game is all I expected it to be.

I got this game for my birthday thinking it would be better than playing online with a bunch of random idiots. Since I only play for money in real life, it made a lot of sense. This game has been all I expected it to be and more.
While the graphics are not the greatest, I can't complain. How great do they really need to be when all you are doing is playing your cards? Game play is good. Selection of games is also good with Omaha, 7 Card Stud, Holdem, and Razz with tournaments with over 6000 players to single table "invite only" games.
While it may not be an 'honest' player's game, since you can save when you have a high chip count so you can always start again when you are in a good spot (which makes it fun to screw around and go all in a couple times after a save just to see if you can double up!!) it's a great poker game.
Rubbish!

This game is awful. The graphics are really bad, and the character creator is way worse than WCP which came out a year ago. The online bails everyone out when the host leaves and the AI is a joke. I returned this game when someone bought me the World Poker Tour game which is cheaper and MILES better.
