My brother encouraged me to get it, so I put it on my wish list. Vouila! I have it on Christmas! Anyway It has very nice graphics, and you can even go into fishing mode. But to be on the safe side, you might want to rent it first. Also it has blood and violence. Now I am trying to get Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2. These Cabela games are great for kids ages 9-adault. And it is also good for Future little hunters.Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2

I purchased this game for my 10 yr old son as a birthday gift.
He really enjoyed it and it was not as difficult for him to operate. The game is challanging and has alot of different options the use in creating your own specific hunts!!!! I rate this game an A+..

I really enjoyed TrophyHunter and DeerHunter 2005 for PC, so I thought I'd try a playstation game and see what it's all about. I'm not a hunter in real life, but I do enjoy playing hunting games more than other sorts of shooter games. Fewer aliens, more rifles, maybe some bunnies - I guess that's what I like.
Cabela's Outdoor Adventures is a pretty good game. Personally, i don't find many, many different vehicles that interesting. I do enjoy all the firearms, though. And bows. I really like the game options: you can play Adventure mode and create a character, you can compete in a markmanship or trophy contest, or you can take a Challenge and beat a record. You can also play in Free Hunt mode, where the game fits you out with equipment and thrusts you into some locale.
The graphics are good-to-okay. Repetitive motions on some of the animals get a little tiresome - this is where Deerhunter and Trophyhunter have spoiled me - but the basic animal forms look good. Animal AI is good enough - could be better. (Calls work well, but you must be close enough. Tons of Apparently Unrealistic Things occur with the animals, but c'mon - it's a game! It's unrealistic, but do you really want to be playing this game for ten hours, waiting in ambush?!)
Ambient environment - clouds, animal noises, ground cover, wind, rain, etc - is excellent! I love the eerie sound of foxes barking in the woods! Weasels, badgers, mountain goats, bears, wolves, and those out-of-control vicious bobcats make the game richer than just walking through the trees, hunting hoofed creatures.
The fishing option is repetitive, yes - it takes no talent, only timing - but I enjoy it when something else in the game has frustrated me. (Like finding the right Trophy Mule Buck...) You can only fish near a fishing sign, and you can't move once you begin casting = dumb, but you'll get over it.
My fave part of the game is when the warden steps in and assigns you a special task or mission - rescuing a lost helicopter pilot, taking out a rabid coyote, finding the poacher's camp, harvesting ten rabbits - these surprises are great, and I wish there were more of them! Also, I enjoy the shotgun competitions.
A good game, especially if it's on-sale! Occasionally heart-pounding, so make sure you have a good sized screen to fully appreciate the stalking experience.
AWSOME!!!

I love the game. It is really fun. Although it is easy on greenhorn mode (that is easy mode) it is fun on sportsman and simulation. I love it. It is worth every penny your heart will race as you get farther in the game.
worth every cent

This game really does lack! I wanted the game for the fishing. It turned out that it was the worst, most unrealistic fishing expeirience I've ever had! This came, although lacks in it's fishing feature, has a nice hunting feature! There are no red dot's to indicate where the animals are, so it's just a little more realistic than the recent cabelas Games! But to replace the red dot's you have a radar that has different color dots. The different colors indicate what your animal is: Pink= small game, yellow= deer, and green= large game! But there is one more thing about the fishing: you have to get beside a fishing sign to be able to fish! This game is something I would only rent, nothing else. So please, do me a favor, and play it before you buy it!
Pretty fun!

I have been playing this game the last few days and it has been a blast. The graphics are pretty decent and the ability to fish in the waters is a nice touch although the fishing aspect could be greatly improved to make it more fun. It's really neat though to find a boat and drive it through the creeks. So far the season hunts have been fairly easy (i'm on level 3 now) even though I am stumped on mission 2 in the mission section. They say to take down an elk in any stand in under 3 hours. Each time I take one down they say I failed to complete the mission. Maybe it's a particular kind of elk only, I don't know... It would help if I knew exactly what one looked like in the game instead of guessing at it. But that fact aside, it's still a very fun game and i recommend it to any hunter, exhunter, or even someone interested in hunting. There are 4-wheelers, boats, trucks, snowmobiles.
