This is a fun game.
It's great to play with the kids and adults. No killing/violence/language
You don't have to be familiar with video games (like some games) to figure out how to play it.
I like that you have to actually do something to play the game.
Unlike the "guitar hero" game where you just push a button-which has nothing to do with playing guitar, this one you actually get to bang on the drum.
One thing I was dissapointed in, is when you are drumming, it doesn't matter which side of the drum you hit on the single hits-both sides count, so you end up using your dominant all the time on the "single hits."
The game is still lots of fun and great to play with the kids. We always end up laughing and yelling when we are playing (maybe not a great idea if you live in an apartment with the drumming, laughing and yelling).
I'd like to get a second drum controller to be able to play head to head.
Kids and Teen love it!

My kids, including my 16 year old son, go back to this game quite often. They have found it challenging and fun. Would recommend.
Excellent fun for all ages!

This game is simple enough that my 4 year old can grasp the concept and yet is engaging enough that even the adults in the house enjoy playing and watching it. The drum is fun to beat but the game also allows you to use a standard console if you don't wish to hear the noise or want to play while there are people sleeping. Would be a plus for people who live in apartments as well and folks who don't want to pay extra to buy a 2nd drum for 2 player action.
The game comes with several popular songs and a variety of genres, from classical to classic rock. In the same vein as Dance Dance Revolution and Guitar Hero, this game is definitely a winner. Not only is it entertaining but it teaches the player how to listen to and keep a beat.

Many other people describe the game in their reviews, so I'll just say that this game is tons of fun. More songs would have been nice though. We get shafted and only get one Taiko Drum Master game when Japan gets many.
great fun

like the review by Michelle, this is a great game, great work out and family fun, the only down side is the music, it needed more taiko based songs and there are not alot of songs in it. But if you have two drums, it will be even more fun.
also there aren't taiko drum master games out there except this one which is a shame.
4.5 is my Rating score for this. (T_T)

Although this game is alot of Fun and deserves 5 stars I gotta agree with previous reviewers that they should of added more song choices and maybe throw in some japanese festival songs to drum to. What really bugs me most is the little itty bity grip pads on the drum stand dont grip very well so if you pick a song requiring fast movements and drumming be prepared to have your drum slip off the stand and constantly having to pause the game to place it back on the stand. I peeled off the grips and put velcro onto my drum to stop it from moving around while I drummed. Other wise this is an AOK game.
Leave it to the Japanese

After living in Japan for 6 years, I thought this would be great for the kids. Well - I (a grown adult) can't even pass the easy level. Leave it to the Japanese to create a difficult kids game. It is lots of fun though (when in the right mode). I like the fact that it has a tutorial, so you don't have to "read" the manual.
Coolest game ever!

I got this game a few days ago,and I can't stop playing it! This was the best game I have ever gotten! The songs are really cool and if you beat them you can unlock more. Kind of exspensive but it's really worth it. I have a blister on my hand from playing so much! The only bad part is that you have to hit it really hard or it won't work right.
