POSSIBLY THE BEST MULTIPLAYER PS1 GAME

HOW CAN THERE BE A NEGATIVE REVIEW FOR THIS GAME?!
Lode Runner is easily one of the MOST FUN games on the PS1! That's not simply my opinion - it can be proven.
Here are six reasons why:

1. Unlike the PC version, it comes with a couple hundred levels. The ones found in EXTRA will take especially long to conquer, but for patient challenge lovers, the adventure is so mind-boggling that it's funny.

2. YOU CAN CREATE AND NAME YOUR OWN LEVELS - five levels can be saved to one memory card. That may sound limiting, but it's actually a good amount - by the time you've made a fifth level, you'll want to stop building and start playing. Play the levels with or against your friends! And yes... you can erase any level that you build.

3. The gameplay is EXTREMELY intricate - you'll find yourself discovering secret techniques that you'd never expect to be possible. And there are MANY of them!

4. The PS1 version allows you to alter the background art (by scrolling,) which the PC version couldn't do.

5. The Construction Mode controls take a day (or two) to get used to, but after that, it's easy to create levels quickly. The game's controls can be changed to your liking - you can only play at normal speed, but it gets comfortable.

6. You can play this version from the comfort of your living room. How great is that?! Oh, did I forget to mention that all the midi music has been remixed? Yes, that is a plus.

If you think FFVII is the greatest PS1 title, you should check out Lode Runner - because then you'll have the greatest multiplayer PS1 title. When it comes to fun, Lode Runner is BOSS!

Personally I thought this to be a truly pathetic game! The controls are horrible and its not a very good storyline at all.....but it has its moments (i.e. the 3 stars)

This game is not very good and makes a poor transition from the old PC days with the blue bricks and red villains to the Playstation console. The gameplay is the same, but the controls are terrible and do not react quickly. The graphics have been improved, but without smooth gameplay and unless you are a die hard Lode Runner fan with patience, this game is not worth the time nor the money.
