Tomb Raider 2 is the best 3rd person game to date. This game set's the standards for all other action adventure games. Once again, Laura Croft takes us on one of her adventures. The graphics are ten times better than the original and should be picked up buy anyone who enjoys a really great game!!!

Tomb Raider 2 is even better than the first one. Although the same graphics problems are still visible, this game will keep you jumping back in horror, sighing in victory, and laughing at the corny movie clips in between levels.
a lot better than tomb raider 1

If you are familiar with the first game, then there is no need for a backstory. Suffice to say that this game has improved graphics, more weapons, and a cool new "backflip" maneuver. Lara even gets a motorboat to get you around the Venice levels. The only gripe is that there isn't a single tomb in Tomb Raider 2.
Less exploration, more action

As a huge fan of Tomb Raider, I was really looking forward to this release. Compared to the first Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider II features better graphics, more action, and a much higher difficulty level. Many players of the original Tomb Raider complained that the pace was a little too slow. In response, Core Design practically turned Tomb Raider II into an action title. A new save system was added whereby you can save your progress at any point in the game. This is a good feature because you'll be saving often, believe me. Of course, doing so breaks up the continuity of the game which lessened my overall enjoyment. The game includes some wonderful environments to explore and tricky puzzles requiring nearly perfect timing to complete. Core definitely intended to make Tomb Raider II a challenge, and they succeeded almost too well. The game has many high points, but it can be very frustrating. If you're a fan of the original, you'll certainly want to pick this up. However, be prepared for an incredible challenge. A decent player should be able to complete the game in 40-50 hours.
Tomb Raider 2= Terrific times 2!

Tomb Raider 2 is terrific! I didn't think that Eidos could make another Tomb Raider that was just as good as the original, but they did! The graphics are far better than the ones in the original, it's more challenging, TONS of enemies(Most of them human this time around, though), better weapons including uzis, automatic pistols, a shotgun, an M16, a harpoon gun, and of course, Lara Croft's trademark pistols, and her training course is WAY cooler than in the first one(Except that the freaky old butler follows you everywhere)(Tip: To get rid of him, run into her kitchen, open the meat freezer, and stand in it until he comes in. Then, just blow by him and slam the door in his face. He doesn't move fast, so don't worry. Or, just lock him in the house, but sometimes he gets out).In her training course, you can go outside this time, and I've heard a rumor that you can get her guns in the training level to shoot her butler, but I've yet to find them. Also, there are more and better rooms to explore in her house. And in the real game, the levels range from Venice to the Great Wall of China, or from a sunken ship to the Tibetian foothills. (Sorry if I spelled that wrong). I really enjoyed this game and the FMV sequences between levels are great! If you are an old fan of the Tomb Raider series or a newcomer to the world of Lara Croft, you should buy this game! NOT rent, BUY!
BUY THIS GAME!

In retrospect, with 4 games behind her, Tomb Raider II captures most of Lara's finest moments. The cerebral, compelling Egyptian storyline of TR1 is sorely missed, but is replaced with a spectacular variance in exotic locales - Tibet, beneath the ocean, Italian villas, and much more. Each level is a lavish challenge. Although the control is somewhat frustrating at first, you'll find that it becomes empowering and intuitive the more you play. The plotline is compelling and a wonderful adventure, and the variance in the number of foes and puzzles you must overcome will keep you interested throughout the months it takes to beat this colossal game. The problems? Well, the main one is the difficulty level. Since Eidos included the "save anywhere" feature in this game, they felt a sick and twisted need to make the game extremely difficult at the most awkward moments. You'll find yourself tearing your hair out or destroying random objects as you fail to guide Miss Lara through the gauntlet for the 100th time. But, when you succeed, the satisfaction of victory is sincere and overwhelming. An outstanding adventure game, for all fans of Indiana Jones, 1930s serials, Edgar Rice Burroughs, and the best "exotic" action flicks. Buy this!
Much better than I expected.

I highly recommend this game. I am approximately 2/3rds through the game and I'm very impressed. I wasn't sure I would like it as much as the first game but now I think I like it more. The graphics are much better and the ability to save whenever you want to is delightful. If I hadn't completed the first Tomb Raider, I would have had a much more difficult time controling Lara in jumping and evading gunfire. It has a different feel than the first Tomb Raider and it is much more shadowy. The underwater scenes are nifty looking but the harpoon gun is difficult to control. Tomb Raider II offers a good balance of puzzle solving, clue searching and action.

fun, scary, exciting and amazing are just four of the words that i can use to describe this game. the sexiest gaming character of all time, Lara Croft, returns in the sequal to the original Tomb Raider. i love this game so much, and all of the ones that follow. the levels are puzzles full of assassins that are trying to kill you on your route to winning the game. excellent fun, and can be enjoyed for all ages.
