A Great Game for Beginners

Friends of ours upgraded to PS2 so they gave us their PS, I was looking for a game that my 31/2 year old could play without becoming fustrated and confused too easily. Since he is a big fan of the Rescue Heroes I thought this would be a good game for him and I was not disappointed. There are two levels (or modes) in this game, the "Training Mode" and the "Rescue Specialist Mode", the first level only requires that the player move foward or reverse with only one action button being used. this is perfect for my son who is just learning the controls of the game, it doesn't let him become fustrated and wanting to give up because he can't do it. He's not yet ready for the second level, where you have to use all the directionals but I'm sure it won't be long. This game is great for the 3-4 year old beginners as there are 7 Rescue Hereos that you help on their missions, but I think anyone older would be bored in no time because you are pretty much rescuing the same people or animals with each of the Hereos, just using their different equipment. I bought this and a few other games for my son and this is really the only one he can do totally on his own. We've only have had this game for a week or so but I have to shut the PS off or else he won't stop playing this game. I hope Knowledge Adventure and Fisher Price come up with a Rescue Heroes game that is a more challenging than this one because it would be great to have a game without all the violence for kids a litte older than the 3-4 crowd and I know my son would like to get another Rescue Heroes game as soon as he has finished with this one!

Help the Rescue Heroes - 6 year old gamer & mom

This is a Great Game. It is very repetitious to the average gamer but to a 6 year old Rescue Hero it is filled with saving people, animals and putting out fires. I would recommend this game to any children ages 4 - 6. By age 7 children seem to want more action and more levels and not be able to complete a game in a matter of minutes.

Too easy...should be for 5 and under!

my son who just turned 6 finished the entire complete game in less than 2 hrs...probably in about one really! I could not believe him and made him show me and he in fact did all the characters missions and got the certificate at the end. the problem is that the two modes show you or tell you exactly what to do with in one a voice and the other a big obvious arrow.

I love these guys, the Rescue Heroes and it is a big bummer that it ended up being too easy for my son. The concept was a great one...saving animals and people and Knowledge Adventure is in my opinion a very reputable company in the PC cdrom market, but this game is really made for a very young player in mind.
