Demolition Racer No exit is in one way a racing game and in one way a demolition game. But unfortunately the racing part kind of takes away the demolition part a little. Because it is hard to concetrate on both aspects. If you are in first (which is the point) you wont be able to blow up cars. Because they are behind you. However the graphics are good and so is the control. So overall DRNE is a good game and will appeal to the casual gamer.

Fun game

This game is pretty fun, you get various modes of play and as you complete them more will be unlocked, also there are a variety of vehicles.

Graphix

Could be better, the damage is the same for every car and your car will go the same speed even if your car is trashed. this gives an unrealistic feel, but it's still fun

AI

Best that I've seen, I'n previous titles(mainly ealier playstation version) the computer would have this death wish towards you, It was 19 computer controlled cars against you, so there was no way you could win. But in this game the computer controlled cars will randomly select thier target from the other running cars, this doesn't mean you won't get ganged up on, but you have a better chance of surviving the fight.

Controll/gameplay

The controlls are laid out nicely, I use the defualt settings cause they are right on the money. One minor issue is all the cars are automatic, I'd like to have the option of a standerd. also i feel that the tracks are a little empty, there should have been more obsticle to try and force your oppenant into.

Overall

fun exciting game, one minute you'll be cursing and yelling at the game, the next you'll be jumping with joy cause you reaped havock upon your opponants. there is a lot of replay value here, unlocking new cars and tracks, new races plus playing with a friend.

Satisfying racing smash em up

I will be brief this game is fun if you ever played the old arcade game demolition derby (remember the game with the wrenches and oil slicks and the undressing hottie) anyway this game has a camera angle that lets me relive one of my alltime favorite video games. The amount of things there are to unlock is great including a car soccer game that is fun for two players only. The amount of customization is also sweet. If you like the genre and aren't obsessed with accurate racing pyshics you will have a good time with this one.

Remember Destruction Derby? It was an unexpected hit and classic for the PS1 years ago where you got to smash up cars for no reason other than for good 'ol fun. Demolition Racer was a game that would come out a few years later for the PS1 with basically the same premise and was just as fun. Now enter Demolition Racer: No Exit for the Dreamcast, an insanely fun (for the most part) racer that was a nice addition to the DC's overbloated racing library. The premise stays the same, smash up other cars as much as you can while trying to keep your car from getting junked. You can either race or enter the Demolition League where you can participate in all kinds of other races like Chicken, Last Man Standing, and No Exit which has you and a bunch of other cars confined in a small arena where the last car functioning wins. Controls are tight and solid, the sound effects are half decent, along with a soundtrack featuring Fear Factory and some lesser known bands, but the graphics seem a little blocky, almost N64-ish, and don't take advantage of the DC's graphics horsepower engine. All in all, Demolition Racer: No Exit is a pretty good game that any DC owner will enjoy.

I used to play demolition racer on a friends Playstation and thought it was great especially in two player mode. So I'm really glad they've put it onto the Dreamcast. The graphics are vastly improved and there is NO slowdown even in two player mode! I'm not much of a racing 'simulator' fan, so I like that with Demolition Racer you can get up to full speed smash into someone and recover really quickly so you're always in the thick of the action. One of the new aditions is 'pickups', which really adds tactics to the gameplay. There's been loads of times where I've almost been dead, preying that I can find an armor or shield pickup before someone smashes into me. There's also loads of game modes, cars, and sub-games to unlock so it should be quite a while before it's completed. If you want a different kind of racer, buy this game!

Extremely Addictive

We tend to like the driving games best, and this one is at the top! Terrific graphics, exceptional soundtrack and really fun game play. Still have to try it with the racing wheel, though. Personally, we like it even better than Crazy Taxi. You can satisy your road rage impulses in both, but this one gives you the satisfaction of destroying others on the road - you'll see the smoke and fire coming out of your competitors, and nothing satisfies like a good t-bone or even landing right on top for an instant kill! (Yes, we are adults) A must have!

The Best Game Around

Do You Like Cars? Thought So. Do You Like Destroying Them?

Thought so, too. This game is the ultimate stress reliever. If you're under a lot of pressure, is there anything more gratifying than destroying hordes of cars? Not unless they create a game where you can strap dolls to firecrackers.

The graphics are great, but not incredible. It's no Gran Turismo 3, but it's still pretty, with a good framerate to boot.

The soundtrack is ho-hum. At least it keeps the action going.

You'll keep wanting to come back and play it. Thank you, I'm done. Buy and destroy, friend. Buy and destroy.
