Coaster Works For Sega Dreamcast

I have enjoyed this game many years ago, but in all the moves I had made I lost the game. I thought I would never play it again, but just in case I kept a game save on my Dreamcast VMU. I came across the game on Amazon and snapped it up. It was just as fun as I could have hoped. The user interface is very simple and fun to use. I highly recommend that you run a lot of "test" runs when you are building you coaster, it stinks when you finish the coolest coaster ever, just to have it fail a hill at the beginning.

One of my favorite features of this game to me is riding the complete coaster, because you get to sit in the front and you sometimes really get into the "ride". My wife gets motion sickness on real coasters, and when she was watching my complete coaster she had to look away because she started to feel queazy, that says something for the realism huh? The person I bought the game from on Amazon sent me a game in awesome shape and I played for HOURS the first day. Great game!

If you are an avid gamer and are looking for VERY DETAILED graphics and a HUGE plot don't look at this game, look at Shenmue. This is very educational because it shows the gravity and actual physics needed to create a roller coaster.

IT ROCKS!!

If your are ready to be disapointed buy this game. I would give it a ZERO STAR but it only lets me pick one. 6 boring levels, that take no time at all to beat is all you have to pick from. First of all price is HIGH, Second square graphics, Third there is really no thema to the game, you dont see a person in the seat of the coaster the whole game, forth IF you expected roller coaster tycoon (like me) IT is not there at all. Thats the main reasons and there are many more. BUY IF YOU DARE but be prepaired to have no fun

Amazing but brief

Simply put, Coaster Works is a fun and amazing game that is over far too quickly. I was able to complete this game in about 5 hours - that's just too fast. Now that it's complete, I'm not sure what more I can do with it. I could perhaps continue building coasters just to see how Thrilling a coaster I could create, but the game provides no way to name or compare coasters. It would also be nice if I could somehow extend the 240 segment limit or increase the maximum coaster height - some truly unique and incredible coasters could be built. Another nicety would be more interesting or editable terrain rather than just a large, flat rectangles.Ultimately, I think this game is really neat, but has fallen far short of its potential. Perhaps a Coaster Works 2 could be created to address some of this game's shortcomings.

Coasters RULE!!

I have been waitin for 6 months for this to come out. I admit, this game was easy, i am very good at building coasters. Unfortately i paid too much for it. If you like building coasters this is the game for you. I beat it in 2 and a half days but i still play the secret level often, but once you beat the game there is not much left to do. But on the other hand this game rocks. Graphicwise and gameplaywise. But i would pay more than ... bucks for it because it is not worth it.

This is the worst game I have ever bought

I can't believe they actually started selling this game. The should do a recall and give better games. Games as good as rollercoaster Tycoon. I was expecting ot build a whole amusement park, not just a boring 1 coaster per level. The track looks all dumb, and its way too unrealistic. They should be able to put 0 stars or a half star. I wouldn't even pay 5 dollars for this. My advise: DONT GET THIS GAME!!!

Another exceptional reason to own a Dreamcast!!!

I have been hunting for this title ever since I first heard of it in November of 2000. Each time the street date would near, it would be extended for another month. Finally, last night, my copy arrived via UPS 2nd Day Air. Was it worth the wait and the expectations that grew? In one word...(very loudly screamed as the train rolls down a 90 lift hill...) YES! A better way of describing this would be to say you begin to compete with yourself to continously increase your skill. It infects you with constand mental visuals, day-dreams almost, of new track configurations to try.

If creativity is your thing, and you're a roller coaster freak (like myself) you'll eat this game up in a second. It was a risky market to try and tap into, but it was done with grace.

All hail Millennium Force!!!
