This game gets SO boring after two weeks or so.
If you want a game to last long get something else.
It gets frustrating in some events too. How? I don't know about you but Table Tennis and Triple Jump is hard! Table Tennis is hard, but why? I never
win! I ALWAYS end up in fourth place!!! Triple Jump is hard because you have to do good timing and need to jump three times to go the farthest! I am not strong at Hammer Throw. It is hard to throw far! Well, at least it is hard for me... You have to do a fast continuous circle and gain speed and lift your stylus. That's not the hard part. When I do that, it goes high into the air and lands only 13 meters!( that is not very far.) Well, anyways if you wanted this game, borrow it or rent it.
Do not waste your money.

As a DS lover, I expected way too much from this game. I bought it because I thought it would fit in well with my other 30+ games, but I ended up selling this one within 2 days. It was not fun at all and the controls are a pain to deal with. The graphics are great, but what good is that if the game is a bore to play?

When it comes to minigames, Mario has shown he has the success. After the mammoth surprise success of Mario Party DS for the Nintendo DS, many were surprised by the new gameplay that brought life within the party. That also has shown within the rivalry between Mario & Sonic The Hedgehog back in the 90's with the console wars between Sega & Nintendo. But now that Sega had stopped making video game systems after the Dreamcast, they've made great games for other systems. But, nothing yet has shown the real head to head rivalry in the same video game of Sonic vs. Mario until last year when Mario & Sonic at The Olympic Games was released on the Nintendo Wii. The game worked well with fun, but didn't drive in the gamers. Let's see how the DS can handle the Olympic glory.
Mario & Sonic at the Olympic games for the Nintendo DS brings in the handheld action of the Wii title, as the Summer Olympics shine in with a new twist on gameplay, as your favorites like both Sega & Nintendo fight it out for the gold. You can play with anyone from Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, or your favorite Sonic classic characters like Knuckles, Dr. Robotnik, Tails or even Sonic himself. There are over 20 different exciting events that bring out the fun and gameplay of the Olympics that shine well, including a few events that are exclusively found on the DS edition too. You can play all the events that were on the other version like fencing, the long jump, or swimming, as well as new events like Canoeing, cycling and platform high diving. The graphic look well and the control is a bit easier to maintain through each of the events, where the Wii edition did show as a weakness.
While Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games doesn't shine as well to bring new DS gamers in as was the case with Mario Party DS, it still is a fun game for those who are eagerly awaiting the excitement of the upcoming Summer Olympics, and brings in a few nice twists into what Olympic sports video game have missed for awhile. I thought it was fun, but could've had a bit more to shine.

Not too many years ago, who would have thought that Mario and Sonic would be together and face off in their own game? Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games finds the beloved Nintendo and Sega mascots taking part in 24 Olympic events, most of which aren't all that different from one another. The gameplay itself offers some uninteresting touch screen and stylus options (which aren't always recognized by the game), and is pretty shallow overall. Flaws aside, there are some fine moments to be had with Mario & Sonic. Just seeing the two video game icons together is reason enough to check the game out, and there is a wide variety of characters to play as from both franchises. The game as a whole looks pretty good with some solid animations and colorful graphics, there's catchy music, and the game isn't all that hard to just pick up and play. Problem is though, the game just isn't meant for a long haul, like it could have been. All in all, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is good for some simplistic thrills, but the game isn't as good or fun as it could have been. It's worth checking out for fans of either franchise though, but it isn't nearly as fun as it could or should have been either.
extremly disappointing.

When I got this game for the Wii, I totally fell in love with it. so when I heared it came out for the DS, I was like "OMG! I must have!". so I got it, but it turned out to be no fun at all. For one thing, the game was impossible. the events are WAY too hard. 2, it was really weird how you did the events. Like table tennis, for example. you couldn't beat table tennis because the controls were so confusing. also, the graphics are horrible. I guess my point is THIS GAME IS NOT WORTH IT.
Fun!

I think this game is a lot of fun! There are lots of different olympic events like swimming, track and field, cycling, and table tennis just to name a few. The events are very realistic to real olympic events. You get to compete for medals and be any character that you want! There are also eight dream events that you have to try to unlock. That is the one problem I have found with this game. The dream events are very hard to unlock. I have unlocked some of them, but I have tried everything I can think of to unlock the others but nothing seems to work. But overall, this is a fun game and definately worth buying!

Another winner for Nintendo DS lovers. Using the same high quality 3D animation used on Mario Kart DS, Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games is packed with action. There are two teams, but the question is what are the teams? The title suggests Mario characters vs Sonic characters. The instruction book seems to suggest hero characters vs villain characters. Bottom line...it doesn't matter. The whole point is to do your best in the events no matter which character you choose.
The characters are:
From the Mushroom Kingdom:
Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, Wario, Waluigi, and Bowser.
From Mobius:
Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Shadow, Blaze, Vector, and Dr. Eggman.
The selection of events is impressive.
100m Dash, 400m Dash, 400m Hurdles, Long Jump, Triple Jump, Javelin Throw, Hammer Throw, 100m Freestyle Swim, 10m Platform Dive, Trampoline, Vault, Archery, Table Tennis, Fencing, Skeet Shooting, and Cycling. Plus, there are several special mini-games you can unlock.
So far, I kick butt in Archery, Javelin and Trampoline. I really suck at Skeet Shooting. It takes speed that I haven't yet developed. Also, the cycling has some complex controls I have yet to master, but I shall! I'm so-so at Table Tennis (Ping-Pong to us old timers), but watching those super charged finishing moves is always a blast. It's nice that some games are difficult to master. No point in making everything too easy.
Bottom line, this game rocks. Definitely a must have.
this is nice,

I really like this game because you can be anyone you want, like Knuckles, Shadow, Sonic, Peach, Daisy, etc. Cycling is fun but hard. Table Tennis is cool, but hard because sometimes you miss your serves. This is tons of fun for ages 6 and up (I am 6).
