Fun, but Needs Better Gameplay

Dementium gives the player a first-hand experience going through a monster infested dark world. In terms of the horror-game genre, Dementium does not disappoint.
In fact, I highly recommend the game just for that reason, but the gameplay is absolute and total crap. If you are the kind of person who will not play a game, no matter how good the story (and it's okay, by the way) if the gameplay sucks, then this is not the game for you.
Otherwise, get it! It's a worthy DS game, and better than most.
Good not Great

it's a fairly mediocre game. Decent graphics for ds and excellent sound. I almost never play my ds with the sound on but found myself using headphones so I wouldn't bother whoever else may be in the room.
My only complaints are that there really is no story. There are less enemies
than I had expected and you find yourself just wandering around trying to figure out what to do next. Over all it entertains but disappoints a little.
Not Good!!

Ok my last review may have been too straight forward, but the map is hard to understand, the handgun makes no difference then the baton, and don't get excited when achieving the SHOTGUN,still not much difference,No story line, just wake and roam around, boring monsters!! UGH!!

This is hands down one of the most ingenious games for the Nintendo DS made today. It's in the style of Silent Hill, and it has THE BEST graphics I've seen in any of Nintendo's handheld systems.
It's controls are easy to get the hang of too. So this is not only a great graphic game but fun too.

This game was great but your thumbs will be in a LOT of PAIN . Very difucilut to move with the style stick be much better for a big screen game ,your alwasy running from the monsters that keep comming back when you re-enter a room but the amo and health don't !what a pain I hate that there is so much to see but can't because your alwasy running for your life! was scary ! you can't save when you want another pain ! and the ending you won't like it big disapointment ! it's a fun scary game.
Not perfect but still a great game

Like everyone else says, everything about this game is great except for the frustrating fact that you have to restart from the beginning of the chapter every time you die. It's a pain, but it's not really that bad because the chapters are short. Once you already know where to go, you can get through them very quickly. You shouldn't be dying that much anyway though. This is one of those games that you can't blame if you don't have the skill to be good at it; it's not the easiest or the hardest. It's one of the best for the DS though.
So much potential

I was excited to play this game after all the hype. Unfortunately, I found the game to be extremely disappointing. As mentioned in other reviews, the save function for the game is poorly implemented, causing the player to repeat large aspects of the game.
Additionally, I was frustrated that the enemies continually respawn if you reenter an area. This discourages exploration of the maps, especially when you find yourself short of ammo.
It's unfortunate that these shortcomings hamper the game to this degree. I thought the environments, graphics and sounds were top notch -- but the gameplay left me frustrated and disappointed.
Twisted, creepy, good music, good atmosphere, but lack of originality and uniqueness...

well, this is going to be brief:
the game box says: "This is Doom 3 meets Silent Hill",
and yes! it is indeed.
pros:
the dark, creepy, twisted touch is definitely there.
the music and sound is really good and helps to create a great atmosphere.
the usage and variety of tools, and the overall riddles are quite decent.
cons:
for an experienced gamer, who has already played a lot of 3-d shooters,
and seen a lot of twisted and sick scenarios...this is just plain the same...
all backgrounds and scenarios tend to repeat a lot, making it quite boring...
enemies tend to repeat themselves a lot...and lack of clear objectives through the game makes it boring...
for a young gamer, this should be pretty attractive.
for me it was, at least for 2 days... :P

The lack of online play is disappointing, especially since I know it could have been included since Metroid Prime: Hunters was just as impressive and pulled it off a long time ago. Otherwise, I thought it was a great game to get as a holiday present.

First off, this game is great. I bought it with some misgivings because of the save feature after reading the reviews on Amazon and I am glad I did. I am a huge fan of the Resident Evil series (I own all for gamecube and the one for DS) and this game is so much more. It has a darker tone than the RE series. Both me and my son jumped when the first undead(?) character jumped out at us and it takes alot to make us do that.
The graphics are great for the DS screen and the controls are good. I don't know yet how easy it will be to aim a gun with the touch screen but moving around is fairly easy.
I have had no problems with saving my game where ever I'm at. I touch quit, touch save and quit, and my game restarts in the exact same spot I last saved at. Additionally, I don't see a problem with having to replay a room. I personally wouldn't stop playing in the middle of a room.
Overall, I am very happy I purchased this game and I would definately recommend this to others and tell them not to be too concerned with the negative comments on the save feature.
