Great game!

This game is incredibly fun and I love playing it on my DS. I only have one issue and it's because I've played the PS2 version, which doesn't have this quirk: you have to complete a level before you save, which is a little annoying since the levels can be long if you're trying to get all the studs.

I love this game so much! its awesome! A++++++ It does get annoying that you have to complete the level before saving but it's fun. If you have the other star wars don't bother. (lego, i mean) It's basically both together. great game! i recommend it!! You save $$ buying the complete saga rather than the other two seperate.

The first good 3D DS action game

TT Fusion was able to pull off a great translation of LSW:TCS for DS (when keeping in mind the limitations of DS hardware).

If you love the franchise and cannot get enough of it on the next gen platforms, pick up the DS version. The levels are recognizable, but different enough to give a fresh experience.

I found none of the bugs that plagued the LSWII DS version in this one as it was built from scratch thankfully.

The DS version keeps True Jedi gold bricks for both Story mode and Free Play mode. I prefer this over the new approach with next gen LSW:TCS using a new challenge mode in replacement of a True Jedi.

Criticism: TT Fusion should have gone with a larger cartridge size so they could have had the room needed to make all 36 main levels (instead of only 30), improved some levels like Speeder Showdown to be closer to the original, and have smoother cut-scenes. The extras like Indiana Jones and good outdoor Cantina area are missing. There is a lot less incentive to collect all gold bricks.

Overall this title has set the standard for 3D DS action games. I look forward to more developments from TT Fusion.

I own both the PC versions of the trilogys and wasn't sure if the DS version would be as good.
Well, it is.
I have had so much fun playing the levels. I was hoping that I could play the game entirely with the stylus, but after a few levels I didn't even notice. One thing is that there are more levels per film in the PC versions. I believe they skip several levels here, so that there are six levels per film (i.e. A New Hope or Phantom Menace) instead of the ten or so in the PC versions. However, after playing the game and "unlocking" it, thus enableing "free play", you are able to go in with new characters and play a much longer and extended level. Loads of fun. Very cool. Nice graphics. The levels are very close to the PC version, but there are differences to make it new. Also, new mini games not in the PC version make for a very good very cool buy. It's worth the money.

A big disappointment...

I played both of the original Lego Star Wars games on Xbox and loved them. Trying to decide what DS game to buy at the store tonight, the choice was between games I didn't know anything about, or one I already knew I loved. Upon getting home and putting it in, I was immediately disappointed. Having just finished The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass, I have come to expect full use of the DS's touchscreen functionality, and this game fails in that respect. You're forced to control your character with the directional pad, and jump and attack with the ABXY buttons, leaving the touchscreen awkwardly useless, occupied with a big blank spot for force powers and character selection.

Beyond that, the graphics are disappointing, the inability to control the camera is frustrating, and cutscenes are painful to watch in their total lack of effort in 3D rendering.

I may warm up to this title if I keep playing it, but if it weren't too late to return it to the store I would have done so immediately. I never planned to write a review on Amazon (this is my first), but I had to put the word out to hopefully prevent someone like myself from picking it up. If you haven't played the series before, or don't mind playing with GBA-like controls, maybe you'll enjoy it, but if you bought the DS for its unique touchscreen gameplay, this one is an enormous letdown. 0 stars out of 5.

I'm not a very active game player, but this game, I can hardly put down! It's addictive and you look forward to picking up where you left off. This game combines the first 2 Lego Star Wars games into one, and is great fun for anyone into Star Wars and Adventure games in general. A+++++++++++++++++

I'm just getting into playing this, but I have to say this is a pretty awesome game. I am a Star Wars geek anyway, so I would have bought and played this regardless of how good this is. It is good for a laugh because of the way your enemies "die". They break into their Lego parts. LOL It's great. It's a good way to burn some time when there is nothing to do.

My son really likes this game, however had wanted it for PS2. Unfortunately, they only make it for PS3 and Wii (of course, now he has a Wii, but didn't at Christmas when he received the DS game).

If you are purchasing it for the 12 and under crowd of Star Wars lovers, you can't go wrong.

Star Wars Complete Saga

This is a great game. My son hasn't been able to put it down since Christmas. I have even found myself playing it and very cool to be able to follow the story line as it corresponds to the different movies. Highly recommend this game. My son enjoys the fact they are lego characters.

I bought this for my girls (and myself) and we're having a blast. We do need to read the manual as there are a few things we're obviously missing, but it's all fun just the same. :)
