BAD BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I purchased fly2k off of amazon, so I asumed it would be decent. Unfortunately it didn't work on my Mac OS 9. Not Knowing what to do, I called the recomended tech support #. The first time I called I couldn't understand a word the guy said, so I called again. The guy who answered me this time told me to call mack soft, who told me to call the guy I had already called. To make a long-story short, after all that I lost a lot of time and money.

Mac users, keep hope

I am a private pilot (The flying-nurse), since I am 24 years old. I played on FLY! with great pleasure. And FLY! 2K makes a great improvement.
There is more choice of planes. More sénarios, more maps.... You can go to Paris, make a flight travel from Salzburg to Vienna in Austria. And the landscape is real. Salzburg is in the mountains and Vienna is a plain on the edge of Danube. The reactions of the planes are real. Even with my experimence, I still make catastrophics landings. I advise you to start by "walking in the air", just relaxe, enjoy the view. Then practice your take-offs and practice your landings. All your life, like real pilots. We do not have the chance to have a PC, but the serie, FLY!, is what is best for the public how does not want to have fighters. Good luck.

the best for the Mac

I own all the flight sims for the Mac.The fighters are fun and there's a more conventional flight sim for the private pilot that even lets you design your own plane,a cool game! But they don't compare to the versitility Fly2K. The realism of the cockpit and the gauges and controllers is incredible. I am currently learning to fly and it is great to have an airplane sim at home that let's me keep the control panels in front of me between air times. The sim is not something a person could just sit down and and get immediate gratification from but, as well as being an advanced flight tool within a couple of hours with the manual I think teen users could get into it and have a good time with it.

Didn't work on my monitor, you need a large monitor!

I have a 15 inch monitor and this game did not fit on the monitor. Because of this, I couldn't play it. I couldn't reach the button that started the game. I was stuck. I found the problem to be that my monitor was too small. It never once says you need a 17 inch monitor in the system requirements, so I had to go back to Comp USA and return it. So if you have a 15 inch monitor, this program will NOT work on your computer. DO NOT BUT IT UNLESS YOU HAVE A LARGE MONITOR. Though it looks like a really good game, that is why I gave it a 3.

Scores Points For Realism

Let me just note that this game is strictly for those who are a. either learning how to fly or b. already know how to fly. The reason I say that is because Fly!2k mirrors real flying and with that said, mirrors all the complexities that come with flying. If one is not well skilled or has more than average knowledge of flying, the game will not be enjoyable and a little too complex. Don't worry though because if you are interested in learing how to fly and do not know how, the manual provided is well sufficient in preparing you. As a matter of fact, the author of the bulk of the manual is a flight instructor and thus the manual is written as though you are a student. The book alone has enough information to teach a person with no knowledge of flight how to fly-fundumentaly speaking. The actual coordination of flying is a whole different story. Read the manual before you play the game. As long as you have the basic ideas of flying and the "how to" coordination will come through actual play of the game. The realism of the game is amazing, every switch, nob and lever is pretty much usable. The cockpits are exact identicals of their real counterpart. One review made a comment that the game became boring. Note that the game will be boring only to those who think flying is boring because this game holds true to what real flying is about. If you want action, then I recommend to get a fighter jet game instead. This game is about authentic simulation and thus holds true to what it is. I can play this game for hours and boredom doen't set in. With such realism and authenticity, I was having too much fun for boredom. The only part where this game does fail in realism is the crashing of the airplane. In this game there is no such thing. For those with a little "Evil Kanivel" in the back of their minds, might be disapointed with an indistructable airplane. However it didn't bother me none.

My only gripe about this game is the fact that in some airplanes you can't see the full cockpit on the screen and therefore have to scroll to see different dials. It can detract from the flying experience because in real life flight you can just turn your head to see different dials in a split second. Guess you can't have everything, but other than that, an excellent game and well worth its weight in gold.
