I think this game is not as good as the nintendo 64 one.

I think this game is not that good you can not do any tricks on this once and you can not do rotations with the few tricks you can do and you can not tell when you are grinding. If you want a Tony Hawk game get the one on Nintendo 64.

The challenging THPS

I got this game on my birth day,and as soon as I played it , I loved it.This game is VERY addictive. The graphics are't the best either, the corses a fine but the skaters...thats a different story. The skaters all drop in 'regular' stance, they are mostly one color, and there arms are similar to the Power Puff girls. This game is also challenging, unlike THPS2,the tricks are much harder to land. There are abunch of tricks, but at the same time, not that many. Now I average over 1000 points with tony hawk,1000 points its not that much in other video game, but in this its awsome.I highly sugest buying this game.(also check out my review about THPS2 for the GBC)

I bought this game for my game boy at [a local store] for [money]. This game is not even worth [money]. I brought the game home and I put it in my game boy. I played it for 5 minutes and I lost intrest in it. The graphics stunk. Every Time time you do a trick like an Indy, they stop the game and say congratulations! You did an Indy. You only get 3 points and they stop the game for a couple of seconds and then you get to go back to the game. Their are only a couple of tricks you can do and it always says you did an indy. I also beat this game in 5 minutes. It is not worth it. Save your money and buy a better game!

Wow--this game is really bad. I remember it being pretty pathetic the first time I played it a couple years back, but after getting TH4 on the GBA, I realized this game isn't worth a buck.

Save your money.

This game stunk! First of all, it was WAY to short. Three minutes, tops. Also, too few areas.

This game is ok- but the accuracy of graphics needs work

Tony Hawk's pro Skater for Gameboy is an ok game. The halfpipe and races are ok. The sound is great for gameboy and it's pretty much fun. The control needs work as it is hard to get everything the way it should be. I only have beef with the graphics. The stages are ok, but every player, including Kareem Cambell and Elissa Steamer, looks like a white male with short hair. This is the only problem. Otherwise this is a pretty fun game.

not good,not bad

I gave Tony Hawk's Pro Skater a 3.It wasn't great, but it wasn't completely horrible. It has great sound(although there are only a couple of tunes).Being aware of that, the graphics still are bad.It had pretty good gameplay but the graphics?I loved the console versions(I played demos at K-Mart)and I knew that the GBC version couldn't be as great, but they were just horrible. And another thing is that when doing the tournament mode(getting points for tricks)there were only like 2 possible tricks:Indy and Stale Fish. The vert wasn't that great either. You could only get up to about 1500 points maxium(whole thing),while in console modes that's like the lowest point value for ONE trick. And it takes like 10 seconds to get enough air to do a trick.Wat's with the crashing? You go on one side of one of those big ramps and you crash! It has to look slanted because of GBC graphics, but it doesn't mean you have to crash when going near it! ...I would recommend this game because it is pretty good, but I think that you could definately find better....

The gameplay is fun but to get fast you have to go side to side whick hurts your fingers. it's easy to learn to play and to do tricks. The graphics could be better.

Pretty Good

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater is a pretty good game. The game has good graphivs for a Game Boy and the Half Pipe Mode keeps me going back for more. On the game you can choose from Half Pipe Mode, Tournament Mode, and this other mode that you can play with a friend using a connector cable. The one thing that I don't like with this game is that the Tournament Mode is very hard to use and very confusing. I must say that this game is probably the best extreme sports games on the market for a Game Boy.

So, Tony Hawk Pro Skater is a pretty good game. I would reccomend this game for a nw Game Boy user due to the easy controls or any Game Boy or roller blading fan. Buy this. You'll like it.

HAPPY GAMING!
