A Game To Change The Genre?

"Not so good" pretty much sums it up. I have a high performance, new computer and it still does not perform well. The graphics are, at best, sub-par, especially in comparison to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City or even to GTAIII. Either of these would be a much better buy for anyone interested in exciting computer games. It was quite smart and a nice feature to have motorcycles and nitrto boosts and the whole idea of the game is quite good especially after the "Fast and the Furious" movies. However, this game simply does not live up to Rockstar's reputation or previous games. Buy your son/daughter/self a diffrent game (e.g. Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Soldier of Fortune II, Battlefield 1942, or something else!)

The most lacking game in 2003

I had high anticipations for this game. The commercials showed a very polished product of great desire, but it looks and plays like a game you used to see in the 1990's. Even with a top of the line gaming setup the graphics are very pixelly: there aren't any options to change your graphic settings. When you're driving around the controls on the car offer no realistic experience. When you tap the key to go right, you pretty much take a 90° turn. Compare that to the new Need For Speed Underground, and Midnight Club II looks like something your grandpa should play.

PC version is really lacking...

The game itself is a lot of fun - it is extremely fast and wild. It is certainly not realistic - you can crash over and over again at high speeds without getting damaged, but it is an arcarde game and not a simulation. The main complaints I have are with the graphics and the controls. I have a very good graphics card (GeForce 5900), but there are no video options for this game! I'm stuck at a low resolution, and it looks terrible by todays standards. Also, there is no way to adjust brightness or contrast, and in a game that takes place primarily in the dark it is often impossible for me to see where I'm going. I don't appreciate having to adjust the displays on my monitor just for this one game. For the controls, I have a force feedback steering wheel, but for some reason I can't configure the use of the gas or brake pedal! Overall, a very disappointing game.

Here's an idea -- get a cheap gamepad!

I thought these controls were awful too until I dug out my old Gravis Gamepad Pro and voila -- perfectly easy to control. This game is a blast. The enemy characters are annoying so you really want to beat them, and when you do, you feel a huge sense of accomplishment. As for the physics, it's an arcade game, so they feel perfect to me. You're doing 90-degree turns at 120 mph, so it better be a little forgiving. The music is pretty good too, though the same songs get old after a while. I thought from the commercial that the soundtrack would be mostly trance, but there's quite a bit of hip-hop. It fits, though. Great game!

This game is very similar to another game in the past called Road Rash. It is extremely fast and wild, and a lot of fun. The courses are very challenging, and it typically takes several attempts to beat a particular map. The only penalty for crashing is that you lose time. If you like extreme speed, this is a great game.

This game is so good it gives me the goose bumps all over my body. The cars are hot and so are the characters, especially the chubby one, Moses. The cars zoom by everything and it feels so peachy keen. I cannot stop playing this game, well I would stop if someone handed me a super fabulous car to race in downtown Toronto when the sun goes down, but until then this is the real deal "Evander Holyfield." The best part about this game is that it keeps my hand to eye coordination up to par, and my life partner tells me that is good because I spill, drop, and break anything in my hands all over the house. If anyone out there knows how to get grape juice stain out of a Persian rug, you must share this most valuable information with me. But seriously this game will blow your mind away, your pants off, and I guarantee you will have an organic experience like the ladies in the Herbal Essences commercials. In conclusion, I leave you with these final words...GO BUY "Midnight Club II" or your soul will be forever mine...BUY IT NOW~!

Controls are horrible

If you use the mouse is pretty much impossible to play this game. So I attempted to use the keyboard to steer. When I tap left or right, I go about 90 degress the direction I turned, crashing into whatever is to the left or right of me. Everything else if fine, but everything else is impossible to experience when I can't race because I'm always hitting building and trees because of the super sensitive controls.

This game kicks butt ( Don't listen to the other guys)

This game is really cool it has great graphics and the buildings look really neat. The control is not that hard once u learn how to use a handbrake and the brake itself. These guys did not know how to use a brake so they gave it a bad rating. Maybe there just dumb. The cars are sweat and are completly maxed out to the fullest. I had no problem using the arrow keys on my keyboard again you have to master the art of BRAKING your car to complete the races. Aslo, you can adjust the resolution. Try looking at everything in the game. ( To the guy who said you can't adjust the resolution. )
