Best Spyro Game to Date

I think this is the best Spyro game yet. The graphics are awsome, the sounds are amazing and the jokes...well the jokes are a little lame, but it's a kids game.
The new melee attacks are very matrix like which makes this game even more enjoyable. The story is even intresting, which in most games like this are pretty lame.
To keep it short, if your a kid, get this game, if your an adult who likes to play adventure games rent it first then buy it. Either way, you won't be disappointed.

This game had its goods and bads. The graphics and sounds were awesome. The new melee attacks ruled but this game was a bit too short (unlike the past Spyro games) and not very challenging. Seems like all I did was go around taking out those ugly laughing baboons. Where was the adventure? Ugh! So that's why I only gave it a 3 star rating.

My 5 year-old son begged for this game. He had played a previous Spyro at his cousin's house and was sold by the commercials. We found it on sale and gave in. He's played it non-stop for a week. Early comment from him was that "it's so easy". Still he hasn't completed the Dojo, yet.
Even from my point of view, the game is repetative, but that doesn't seem to bother my son. The visuals and script are impressive. I do enjoy the zany names of the villains that Spyro has to get passed.
The game is marketed as E-10, but it's no worse than some of the E-rated Sonic games my son plays. Some of the attack modes are down right confusing (XXXX-AR), but what do I know, I'm just a Dad.
I think older kids and fans of the series may be disappointed with the game's lack of depth, but A New Beginning is a hit with the pre-kindergarten set.
Waaayyyy too short

I've loved all the previous Spyro games and was really excited to get this new one. It only took about 4 hours to finish....very disappointing.

Wow I loved this game from the beginning with the great graphics and melee attacks... but then 7 hours after I started playing, the game was over! I've played every Spyro game so far and this is the shortest one yet. It was very dissapointing. They had a great game going, but stopped the action too soon. Too short.

We all love Spyro so we enjoyed playing this game. A little different but just as entertaining, as in the past!

I really like this game. spyro has a whole new look and really cool powers and is even more entertaining than the old ones. I would say that this game has an average story, not to good and not too bad, and there weren't many levels, but they were pretty long. I dont exactly like sparx new look, but he is funny, I have to admit. This game has very good graphics, and I think that it has good replay value, I've played it over about three times. Spyro fans should like this new side of spyro.
Not bad but could be better.

This game disapointed me a little because i thought that it would be a little longer. However the theatrics were great to tell the story of the game. But because of all the theatrics the game is farily short. Fun game but not a lot of gameplay.
Fine game for 5 year olds

I loved all the other Spyro games I've played. Then I played this one. I was highly disappointed. I beat the game in about 6 hours of actual playing time. There were no special levels, no puzzles, no anything except unchallenging combat.
The developers spent more time on cut scenes than anything else. While the dialog was entertaining, I don't buy games to watch mini movies. I buy games to PLAY. I think I spent more time watching cut scenes than playing the game, actually.
This game is likely a lovely starter game for children, since you never truly die and get as many do-overs as you can stand. If you're over 5 or 6, it's a waste of your time.
