I've been playing this game for years and it still is interesting to me. If you like city building games, this is a very good one. That is if you like a classical, ancient China approach. I also like games like AOE III and SimCity :) but all in all, this is a very good game ... especially with the cheats! *wink*

great game, needs to be updated into a second release

Well, first of all, I decided to buy this game after enjoying Pharaoh and Caesar III for years. I wanted to give the new one a chance.

The similarity of the colors of the ground and colors of the objects ( houses, buildings, mills etc. ) in the Emperor, makes everything hard to recognize. The buildings and stuff are like " Chameleons ". Plus, they are much bigger in this game, so, you don't have the " Pharaoh-ish " or " The God " feeling when you are playing.

When it comes to the game itself, its kind of boring and complicated. The World Map is nothing like the one in Pharaoh or Caesar III. However, you have more options this time ; " Invade that city ", " Have diplomatic relations " or " Send a spy " :)) Its more than a city building game. I think it is more " realistic " than Pharaoh and Caesar III, and that's the thing I don't like about this game. Because, I'm playing these to prevent reality :))

So, let me tell you, if you are interested in this product because you liked Pharaoh or Caesar III, don't buy it. You probably won't enjoy it. I mean, I didn't :)
