Go outside to the Backyard, AGAIN!!!!

I am a large fan of backyard sports. This is one of my favorites!
If you want to see the backyard kids more grown up and more skilled, get this. Believe it or not, Sunny Day is older too. You can earn new places, people, and coaches! If you type in a certain name under create a player, a new kid comes out to play. HINT: Read all of the credits, you will see 6 names, one is a nickname, those are names you need. Copy them down fast! I wonder what the next game will be, but this one is great! If you get it, you will love it, I know I do.

I am looking forward to the release of this game tremendously. The first BYB was the debut by Humongous Entertainment for the Backyard Sports series. The second was much improved, offering Major League Teams and players, along with online play. The last three releases from Humongous (owned by Infogrames) have been fabulous games with computer animation as well as hand drawn. It's hard to imagine that Backyard Baseball 2003 will be able to beat the success of BYB'01, but with the return of players like Sammy Sosa, Derek Jeter, Jason Giambi and Alex Rodriguez coupled with new players such as Ichiro, Tim Hudson and Carlos Delgado, this looks to be one of the better Backyard Games. I was mildly disapointed with the performance of Backyard Basketball, not because of bad graphics or gameplay flaws, but because of having only two professional players (Kevin Garnett and Lisa Leslie) and no official NBA teams! One minor gameplay glitch miffed me about BYF'02, but it was a small price to pay for excellent graphics and 10 pros such as Brett Farve. BYB'03 wields 4 brand new fields. Go to the Infogrames web site and go to Children's games and click on Backyard Baseball 2003 for screen shot. Ichiro up to bat against the Twin's Brad Radke now encompasses my computer screen. I am saddened by the loss of favorites Mark McGwire, Cal Ripken Jr. and Tony Gwynn, especially Ripken. Regardles of popular belief, Cal IS the best infielder in that game (Sorry, Derek, buddy). Hopefully with the rise of BYB'03, will come more cheats. I think the employment of cheat codes could do no harm to the game. ...!! Well, the dawn of a new Backyard game is coming, and while I can't make the Yankees lose the World Series in the real world, perhaps my Mariners can pull of a few '03 miricales in the Backyard Realm. Until then, Jah Backyard Peeps, RIDE ON! go M's, make them yanks cringe. Out.

It's awesome

This game is great and carries on the same aspects as the other Backyard games. Choose to be an NHL team or a made-up team. "Draft" your players and play single game or a season in any of the various arenas. The Backyard series continues with another fun exciting game with the great aspect of a pickup game in various places from a "street" arena to a sophisticated indoor arena. This game is highly recommended.

This game is great and a little challanging! The menus are very simple. There are 2 modes that you can play on. A single game mode and season play mode. In single game mode, if you want certain players on your team you have to get them quickly because your opponent can get them before you do. A cool part of single game mode is that you can play tee-ball and watch a demo! On season mode you pick your players first so you have all the players that you want. Each player has four ratings, Batting, Running, Pitching and Fielding. There are three game levels. (Excluding tee-ball mode) A way that makes the game challanging is that there is pluses and minus'. Pluses make them stronger in a rating and minus' make them lower in a rating. If you want to play season mode I reccomend you first play some single games and watch some demos. Also you should start at easy level and work your way up to medium then hard. Heres a tip. Never get Sammy Sosa and Barry Bonds! They get tired to easily and get lots of minus'. A very fun game!

In computer class at school, I always play this game. It is like your are playing a real game at Turner Field or something like that . My team is pretty good, but I can't just watch the game. Be careful when you are picking teams because, you might get a person that is not very good. I get Nomar G. as my shortstop, I like the Boston Red Sox. Get Randy J. or Carlos D. as your pitcher. This is a fun game to play if it is raining and you just want to "PLAY BALL"

My daughter and sons love it!

I think this game is really good. People say this is too easy but i am 11 and I play on hard mode and I lose sometimes It is deffinetly better then the first backyard basketball because the originial only had two pros and this has ten. This game has good pros and good pro selections but they could have had better people as well like Steve Francis, Baron Davis and Kobe Bryant. Some of the people in there have not very good attributes like Tim Duncan has no outside shot but in real life he is a good outside shooter and Pau Gasol has no outside shot but can make all of the three pointers he shoots. Making a shot is very easy from outside but inside shots are kinda difficult. This game has the same graphics and gameplay as Backyard Hockey which I like the gameplay but the graphics i don't like. I would reccomend this game for 5-12 year olds and if you want the ultimate team I would pick Tracy McGrady, Dirk Nowitzki and Tim Duncan as starters and reserves Yao Ming and Paul Peirce. Other than the bad graphics and the choosing of the pros and pro's attributes this is a very fun and good game.
