Icewind Dale is probably the best RPG I have ever played, althought Morrowind may be right there as well. I loved playing this game, all the way from creating my characters to completing the end-game content. One of my favorite parts of this game is in the haunted elven fortress, it is a very difficult place to get through, even for experienced gamers such as myself. This game is true to the D&D rules and lore as well. The storyline is incredible, and the controls are fantastic.
I only wish I had the time to play it again.......
Overall = Superb

1# game Is great, you get to save the north from a demon.
There is truble in a small village. And you are hired as mercenaries to help get rid of the things that are trubeling this place.
The adventure will be fun, interesting and surpricing, you will not be bored for a minute.
The game is developed as Baldurs Gate, and is played the same way.
- with small characters, and a camera in a *bird perspectiv*.
2# game is an expension pack, and is a no brainer, if you are a full time gamer you will most likely win it in a day.
3# game, there have been few times when I have been amazed by the adventure and history in a game, but this was just amazing, you start to think that it will never end (and I mean that in a good way)
You will always have something to do, and the exitment factor is so thrilling!!!
This game pick up the ends from the first Icewind Dale, and now there are new races to pick in your pack of characters, like the drow who are my favorit!
A great triology, I will really reconmend it!!!!!!!!
HAVE FUN!!!

We are enjoying this game very much. We would not recommend it for anyone under 13 as it is challenging even to us as adults. There are so many factors to consider when deciding strategy!
I would prefer the video to be more bright, but my husband likes it as it is, so I guess that is a matter of taste.
The role-playing is very true to form as compared to R.A. Salvatore's characters and because of this, we believe it to be beneficial if players would read his books. I especially like the voices of the characters making comments while battling vicious creatures, or while healing your comrades.
This game rocks

It's the Ultimate Collection, alright. I'm not sure how a collection of Icewind Dale computer games could get any ultimater. It's got both the actual games as well as a bonus CD-ROM. Anything else and it would cease to be an Icewind Dale Ultimate Collection and become, for example, an Icewind Dale Ultimate Collection with a side order of french fries. Fries, for what it's worth, tend to go "bad" when placed on a computer store shelf for weeks at a time, so that's probably a good decision.
You can create all kinds of characters to be in your party. I created the Charlie's Angels and teamed them up with Jack, Janet, and Chrissy from "Three's Company" because I have always wanted to see how well they could fight crime in the form of goblins and were-beasts. As it turns out, pretty well, although casting Jack Tripper as a paladin was stretching things a bit (maybe Mister Ferley LOLOLOL!). The second one has various and sundry "quirks" you can give your characters that will remind you of Knights of the Old Republic if you forget that the Black Isle people actually ripped the idea off from Interplay's Fallout I and II. Anyway, it's still a cool idea.
The one thing I don't like about RPGs like this one is that they give you all these skills to choose from and yet they're all combat-related. If I wanted to create a swashbuckling pack of accountants it would be impossible to do so because the game does not recognize accounting or even accounts payable as an actual skill. I don't know about you but to me that's a serious mark. I still gave the game 5 stars because it's so old that accounting was not I don't think around in the late 1990s.
Great fun for D & D and any RPG fans.

A thoroughly enjoyable game. If you like games like Neverwinter Nights or Diablo, then this game is for you. Lots of fun! A wide selection of races and classes to choose from. I recommend this game to anyone who has a fondness for RPG style video games.

There are 2 games in this Ultimate Collection, IWD + Expansion Pack, and the other is IWD2. And there's a BGM CD in it. and of course, manuals included.
This Ultimate Collection is better than I thought, because I purchased Baldur's Gate Ultimate Collection, too. But only Game CDs in it, no manuals.

I love playing this game. The Icewind Dale II is 3rd edition rules and the graphics are great.
IWD1 does in fact run in XP. I'm playing a game of it now.

The reviewer below must have some other conflict with the game, because I am currently running a game of IWD1 with Windows XP as I make this post.
