I have not yet finished SI but am finding it a great addition to Oblivion. It has a well developed plot with a variety of quests and missions. The NPC characters are more varied with better developed characters. The only problem I have with at the moment is that you cannot take your horse through the doorway into SI. I would really like to have my horse with saddlebags available for carrying loot.
Not worth the money

Took me 2 days to finish this addition. I wouldn't suggest it. Good content but not enough of it!

I like the mad looser and the wierd area in this expansion, u start with a very nice scenery and totally new monsters and ppl, everything is very different in this expansion which makes it nice. BUT the game itself is archer based. U get arrows to kill a gate keeper so if ur not good with a bow u will throw them by hand ? untill now i only got archer items and bows and nothing interesting for the shield and sword lovers. Another thing is this game crashed my pc so many times, it ruined my windows and burnt my ram so be very carefull with it. They say the new patches fixed it but i havent installed it since the accident, the game gets boring when u keep starting over so many times.

I like the addon it is good, but the security on the disk itself was very hard to get past. I had issues with the dvd burners on my machines to reconize that it is legit. I had to attempt multiple time because one out right failed.
The content is good, a worthy add on.
Original art and story, no gameplay changes

If you liked Oblivion, then I'm sure this expansion is great. It has some beautifully weird scenery that is completely different from Oblivion's or any of the other TES games. In addition, the quest are involved, original, and fun
On the other hand, it has the same gameplay issues that made Oblivion a terrible RPG: leveled items/creatures, fast travel, and generic dungeons.
Fact is, this expansion is even easier than Oblivion. If youve already levelled high enough in Oblivion, the whole expansion and most of the items in it are a joke. I dont think I died once. How fun is that? I know I dont like it when I never die in FPS's but for some reason people think its ok in Oblivion.
Shivering Isles.

This add on is OK. Not up to the hype, but still worth getting if you are bored with the original.

I have really been enjoying this expansion. If you really enjoyed the original Oblivion game then you should really enjoy the expansion. The Shivering Isles adds a new land with many new items and characters.

This game is best if you have played the main quest of oblivion and some side quests. Also it is good if you have starten Knights of Nine because it helps you get the ropes a Shivering Isles is so different and creepy it is a lot better that way
Mostly more of the same, but same doesn't get any better than Oblivion!

New creatures, characters, landscape. Same basic music, gameplay, etc. But why fix what isn't broken? I've only been playing it for a couple hours, so there may be more that I haven't seen yet. One minor detail I've noted is store owners are sitting until you enter. I guess that's more realistic than them standing all the time!
Great game

Although it's not as fresh as oblivion, it's quite good. New spells, new ingredients to make potions and new armor are excellent aditions. I would've liked more side quests though.
