I wanted Gearhead Garage, but did not read the fine print. They supplied me a useless game and obsolete racing game called Sprint car racing. One needs to take extra care or this vendor takes youfor a ride!
Don't Worry, Gearhead Garage is Worth the Price of Admission

If you're looking at this package because you want to play Gearhead Garage, then you're in luck. Gearhead Garage is a nifty little game that's easy enough for a five year old to play and fun enough to hold the attention of those who are only five in their hearts. If you're looking at this package for Sprint Car racing, ditch this title and look for the game Dirt Track Racing: Sprint Cars by Ratbag instead. While you'll miss out on Gearhead Garage, you'll enjoy a real racing game that's actually fun, as opposed to this waste of data that poses as a sprint car game.
Gearhead Garage is a point and click kind of game where you are presented with a virtual car and must disassemble, repair, and reassemble to meet customer demands. The game starts out easy, with a stable of virtual economy cars and clunkers that roll into your garage, as well as animated customers who will offer advice if you get stumped on a job. As you progress, more vehicles become available. Digitalized representations of classic T-Birds and Mustangs as well as beefy Ford Pickups and Broncos are brought to your garage for repair, and you have the option of buying salvageable vehicles at an auction. The goal of the game is simple--to make money--and you can do that by working on customer cars or buying cars at auction, fixing them up to your specifications (almost all have custom options and upgrades), and reselling them. Perhaps the best thing about this game is the availability of custom cars for download, such as '57 Chevys, '70 Dodge Chargers, and even a Santa and sleigh. Since the custom cars are creations of technically adept fans of the game, some work better than others. Many of the custom cars have very high polygon counts that make them look very realistic, but will choke a slower system. At least they're free, and their availability makes this game infinitely more interesting.
Sprint Car Racing, on the other hand, is an almost worthless game with no redeemable qualities. The controls aren't customizable, and the gameplay is about as involved as one of those plastic games they sell at gas stations with a bb inside that you try to navigate into a hole in the back piece. Actually, given a choice, I'd rather play the bb game than the Sprint Car Racing game that comes on this disk.

Gearhead Garage is a very addictive game for people who love cars. It's fun customizing the cars. The graphics could use some improvement but you will get used to them. well worth the money
-BUT-
The sprint car game that came with it SUCKED. The graphics and sound are poor and the game is jumpy and slow. TOTALLY OUT OF DATE.
Gearhead garage fun!

I have really enjoyed playing this game for more than a few years ! I ran across a fellow gamer who had a disc that allowed the "junkyard" to regenerate parts faster , should've copied it ! I am now trying to find one. Even without it , its' a great old game , even though the grafics are antique.
