Warning this product is addictive

I am not being facetious when I call this game addictive. Seriously a year ago I had to quit because I played far too much...and then this expansion came out and I was sucked in again.

By far the most expansive and enjoyable gaming world available, it is possibly one of the best games ever made. But play at your own risk, because the more you play the more you want to keep playing.

Made WoW even better

If you already love World of Warcraft, you'll love it even more with the Burning Crusade expansion. The new areas are beautiful, the battles are more challenging and I love the fact that Alliance finally has a shaman option.

For me, few games compare to this one. There is always something to do, even if one isn't questing. The ONLY qualm I have about WoW, in general, is that I can't play with my friends on the Euro servers. Other than that, however, brilliant game, brilliant expansion. I'll be playing this one for months to come.

Outland Outstanding

I started playing WoW in November of 2007 so this review is as much about WoW as it is about the Burning Crusade expansion. Wow and BC are sophisticated MMORGs in that the story development and plot lines are well constructed and thought out. Playing the game and leveling can be a bit of a grind now and then, but there are plenty of in-game activities from battlegrounds to seasonal quests to arena PvP events that make the game fun month to month, week to week, and even day to day no mater what. The environments are beautifully rendered with a variety of complex terrains and texture mapping.

Fun but repetitive

Fun game, with a lot of content while leveling. If you like leveling multiple characters you'll love it. But at max level it's very repetitive. Everything at 70 is a grind of some sort with little 'just for fun' content. New high level content is frequently just new textures on the same mobs and quests are frequently almost identical to older content. PvP is lame, requiring either a grind of a few maps or else arena content that's heavily biased towards certain classes/builds. Real large group PvP and world scale PvP are almost completely absent.

Extremely buggy and horrible support

The original World of Warcraft was a huge leap forward in graphical RPGs. I've never had more fun or been more addicted to a game. As a result, I was extremely excited to get my copy of the expansion pack in the mail. I rushed upstairs, sat through the hour of installation and patch downloads and went to log on. Disconnected from Server. Every attempt to log on resulted in this message almost immediately. Attempts to contact Blizzard Technical Support were a wasted effort. Their phone line is constantly busy, they don't respond to emails, and they ignored every forum post by the myriad number of users facing the same problem. Since you are asked to upgrade your account to a Burning Crusade account upon starting installation, I was unable to go back and play the original game sans expansion pack. I have been forced to cancel my account with Blizzard and will never buy another product of theirs. Highly recommend passing this one up.

I was already a World of Warcraft addict. Burning Crusade only made it worse but I'm not complaining. The new Blood Elf race is interesting and the storyline engaging. The new content is very exciting as well.

The best just got better!

You've heard the hype and the other reviews. I just wanted to chime in and say this is the most immersive game I've ever played.

The new Lord of the Rings Online looks interesting but they shut off several million gamers by making it Windoze only. Thanks Blizzard for being "forward thinking" and making Warcraft for both systems!

Best MMORPG Current Playing Overall

4 Rating: 4, Useful: 1 / 3

If you enjoy Massively Multi-Player Online Role Playing Games (MMORPG) this add-on to World of Warcraft may be the best one out overall. It has everthing Ultima Online (remember that one?) had but done much better and has true three dimensional graphics. Two really interesting races have been added to the original eight and the storyline enhanced. It is very playable and fun to develop your characters and not too cumbersome to play. Player development takes a reasonable amount of time and can be expedited by the use of tricks of the trade or guides to how other players went from Level One to Level 70 in 7 days of play time. The "getting there" part is only half the fun as the storty unfolds.
The bad part is that with 8.5 million players you can have a wait to just to logon to play which is totally unacceptable but Blizzard opened more servers (virtual realms). How the new realms work out remains to be seen.

Oh my god this is epic!

"WOW" is the only word that can describe this game (pun intended). The 2 draenai are great and the new starting area is amazing. Personally, I don't like the blood elves that much, but they're starting area is sweet and shiny. The allience Shaman and Horde Pallidans change PvP for the better. All the battles are more epic and the game is just different. Not having the pleasure of being level 70 yet, I will not review the outland, but I can say this, it's amazing and fun. I recomend this expansion to everyone that enjoys games and such.

Life in the Outlands

Burning Crusade lives up to all the claims of adventure and intrigue. You are pulled from one great location to the next as each new quest takes you deeper and deeper into the story and the wonderful scenery of Outlands and beyond.

Leveling has never been so much fun, whether you like to go it alone or with friends, the instances are exciting and the quests challenging.
