It's ashame Hasbro Interactive didn't test this game before selling it. Yes, the graphics are more exciting in this version, and it has updated game play, but there are piles and piles of errors, besides being very very slow. You get bored because the game play is so slow. Sometimes, if you are lucky, it will let you choose an answer for Fill in the Blank puzzles, other times, it will just shut off. Also, sometimes a letter will appear on the screen and remain there for the rest of the game. Many times you get the same fantasy prize 2 or 3 times in the game. This version also repeats puzzles much more often than the previous version. They made it too high tech without really make it "Work." Sorry For Those Of You Who Are Suffering the Same problems.
If you enjoy Wheel of Fortune, DON'T BUY THIS!!

We own WOF 1 and have a lot of fun with it. So, we figured the 2nd edition would be even better, right? Wrong. Vanna looks like some 2-year-old cut her cardboard picture off a cereal box and pasted her on the cheesy, fake-looking background. The sound stinks, the game play is nauseatingly slow. I will say this, however. The graphics on the CD cover are pretty good, and the box itself has an attractive layout. It will look really good on the shelf of your computer desk -- which is where you will leave it when you uninstall it from your hard drive after you suffer through your first game.
Do not buy this! 1st is MUCH better!

This game is not all that it is cracked up to be! The graphics although better than the first game are VERY slow. The volume is not easy to adjust. There is no way that I have found (and believe me I have tried!) to either speed up the graphics or turn them off. Very unhappy!

I am a big Wheel Of Fortune champ, but this has got to be one of the worst computer games ever! Probably because it's so old. The production looks so cheap and hokey and there's only one good category: CLUE. Wheel Of Furtune number three looks much better. The sets and overall production are greatly improved now. The only thing I miss about the "vintage" game is Pat Sajak. They only have Vanna White and Charlie O'Donnell in this game. If you prefer Wheel Of Fortune, I'd reccomend Wheel Of Fortune #3-it is probably far better than this one.

Ahhh... The Artifical Intelligence is something this game forgot, lets check out the PRO'S and CONS of this game.
Pro's
Many puzzles over 2,500
Vanna videos
Better wheel
Behind the scenes exam/interviews
Cons
THE AI, The computer players are so stupid because first of all they pick the most random answers like W,X,Y,Z. Also they buy all the vowels in the puzzles until they win all the money. They pick the vowels that you know aren't in the puzzle, like U.
Their groans are annoying when they miss
Maybe Hasbro Interactive forgot that minor detail hopefully the new 2003 version will fix most of these problems, or not.

I got bored with this game during the first two weeks, there was not enought variety, or real challenges. I purchase games all the time, other than restaurant empire, this one runs really close.

I would of thought the graphics would be better, to much of the same wording over and over without much of a change but over all the game is still fun to play.

My wife likes the show, so I picked up this PC game on CD at Five Below for five bucks. I knew it was a closeout first released on 9/19/2000 for windows 95 and 98 so expected to find some challenges running it on Win XP. The installation screen is straightforward, although I could not get the Read Me button to work. There is also an option to install Direct-X 7.0 which should be skipped unless you are running a very old version of Windows. I don't believe there is any harm in selecting that item, because the program did not overwrite the current version when I selected it. The game options let you customize whether or not you want to be limited to a 15 minute game and how long the (up to three, including Computer) players should have to answer. The only way I could get the sound to operate was to run the game in compatibility mode for Windows 98 (click the shortcut, select Properties, Compatibility, check Run in mode for Windows 98 / Me). Playing does have some quirks - occasionally the letters selected are not posted, right answers are ignored, the game may ignore one or more players (Vanna asks her questions, but accepts no responses), prizes awarded may be wrong, cash may be awarded in the wrong amount and sometimes the game just quits. However, despite her complaints, my wife keeps playing, so I give it three stars. Just don't expect tech support or perfect performance and you'll enjoy the game. Hey -- what do you expect for five bucks?!
PS The game may run better in a DOS "front end" like DOS-Box, but I haven't yet tried that.

To much time wasted on introduction and closing the game out. It could be simpler on telling you where players stand.
