The game works if you have windows 95 or older. The newer computers seem to have a problem with it. It either does not work or it has no sound.

This is a classics. They get boring, but you grow out of it!

Atari has returned! I am setting a goal to make a series of classic games in my room, living room, and Game Boy Advance! This Atari 2600 collection has helped me get further into that goal. You play classics like Pitfall! and River Raid, Sci-Fi shooter adventures like Megamania and Laser Blast, and enjoy the 8-bit effects which make it true, safe for all ages simplicity! I have a small Atari collection but with this, I have lots! If you want games, get this!!!

This is a great jewel case!

Before I bought my Atari 7800 in February 2003, I was lost. Atari was my favorite company and game system line. I craved the 8-bit classics when this angel came from Heaven. I asked if I could get it for Christmas and I surely did. Thanks to this nice collection of classics, I have truely felt what Atari really was. This 30-game collection with adventures that last from a minute to a half an hour really shows what gaming was. These games beat modern classics by a longshot. The gameplay is very simply and the graphics are fulfillingly crude. When you play these games, you find what true gaming is.

ATARI BABY

Atari introduced Generation X to a little thing called a video game. The rest is history. When it was over, you were socially handicapped if you DIDNT have an Atari. Kids that didn't even have LEKTRICITY had them. Parents didn't understand them and that made it even better. To be a kid in the 80's was to witness something historical...the birth of the computer age.

Brings back memories

I have to say that I was overwhelmed when I first installed the CD. After all, now we can get 30 games. Overall, it is worth the price to relive old memories, but the fun only lasts a little while, then the game goes on the shelf to collect dust.

Kaboom! and Stampede were hard to control. Pitfall was as great as ever, but who really wants to put the effort into relearning the patterns to beat the clock and win? That takes hours and hours. I found myself playing Keystone Cops and Barnstorming the most. This was a big time, but don't expect the same entertainment value of long ago. This CD is purely a novelty.

Major compatibility issues

This title has major compatibility issues: I could not get it to run on Windows 2000, and I suspect Windows XP and WinNT would have similar issues. I *WAS* able to get it working under Windows 98, but it crashes on startup if you don't *EXPLICITLY* set your desktop to 256 colors before launching it.

I thought these games were way cool when I was 10

Now I'm 30. I thought it would be cool to have Pitfall and River Raid (and it is) but the problem comes with having to control everything on your keyboard. There is probably a way to hook a joystick up but I could not get it to work. I gave up since I had such a time installing it on Windows XP (major compatibility problems). I eventually got it to work but it did not work with my sound card. Be sure you have Windows 95 or 98 with the proper soundcard (they should be listed somewhere). Sure it's a blast from the past but it's not like playing it on your 2600. Best games: Pitfall, Barnstorming, Seaquest, and Grand Prix. Many games were to hard to play or figure out.

no 2600

These are great titles but lets face it its not the 2600 experience. You dont get the feel of an atari joystick or the classic look while playing it on your big screen with the ole atari system next to you while you jump over gators in pitfall or when you are riding down a river shoting things in river raid.
