This game is fun enough for one time through. It has some funny moments, and the girls are looking notably better than the girls in Leisure Suit Larry 1 ;)
However, nothing can really make up for the fact that this game is extremely repetitive. And I mean really repetitive. Like the most repetitive game ever. Broken record repetitive.
The game is essentially a sequence of a few mini-games that get replayed over and over again, getting a bit harder over time to be sure, but ultimately just the same old stuff over again.
The game also has three alternate endings, but you don't really have to choose between them, because you can save just before the last sequence and quickly go back and see the other two.
In the end, the game transforms the Larry series into something less than what it once was. There's more nudity (at least in the Uncut & Uncensored version), but that does not in itself make a good Larry game (consider that the originals were fun despite having very little except as easter eggs). I can still go back and play the original Larry games and have fun with them, but I can't think of any good reason to go back and play this one again.
And did I mention that the game is repetitive?
Not what I was expecting.

This game is nothing like the old style Larry games. Mini games distracts from the main goal of the game. It wasn't what I thought.
Great game.....not so great controllers

This is one of the funniest games I haver played and would recomend it to anyone with a sense of humor and open minded about sex issues because that is what the game is about, teen sex.....But they really blew it with the controlo designs. Some of the mini games are almost impossible due to this. That issue set aside, I just love this game.
For the most part this is an enjoyable game.

Overall I enjoy this game. Although it is not exactly what I expected it to be. The game is sexy and funny at the same time. I could do without the arcade style mini-games that you have to go through in order to advance in the game. I would have prefered more of a strategy style game were your decisions on what Larry should say and do would determine how far you advanced.

I can't honestly say whether the game is any good or not, simply because I have not managed to get more than 60 seconds into the game without its crashing. This has happened on each of the dozen or so times that I have attempted to play it. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it several times in an attempt to eliminate its "bugginess", but to no avail. Frustrating and ... thirty bucks wasted.

NUDE, NUDE, NUDE. LEISURE SUIT LARRY UNENSORED AND UNCUT IS ONE OF THE BEST FUNNY AND HILARIOUS GAMES I HAVE EVER PLAYED. I LIKED IT CAUSE UNLIKE THE SIMS IT DOESN'T HAVE CENSORED PARTS OF THE BODY. I AS A LONG TIME GAMER FOR NEARLY 20 YEARS THIS IS THE ONLY GAME I PLAYED PORTRAYING SEX SHOWING THE DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE HUMAN BODY. I DON'T WANT TO SPOIL ANYTHING ABOUT IT JUST BUY IT AND I GUARANTEE YOU'LL LIKE HOW THEY DO SEX.
I LOVE LEISURE SUIT LARRY...............

I had heard of the leisure suit larry series since I was just a boy but had never seen the pc versions. I didn't look hard though. So when I saw this game on the shelf, I had to rent it. I have since played one of the older ones and althoug this new one is not like the others it is fun. I understand that the older folks are disappointed and hate this game. But don't all old people lose reality on what is FUN as they get older? This game is all about drinking and getting laid. After a few close encounters it makes you want to jump on the PS2 right after work or hurry to put the baby down for a nap so you can accomplish getting laid. Married men who don't get it much should love this game. Yes I fall into that category haha. My wife is a prude but she is addicted to this game and she even has the girls rated from hottest to least doable. Imagine my suprise when she played and wouldn't put it down to come to bed. This game is fun and deserves to be played and purchased by everyone if for no other reason for them to create a sequel. The uncut version is recommended for childless families.

When I first saw this game on the shelves I almost did a back-flip. The memories it brought back! But what a dissappiontment.
This game has virtually nothing in common with the originals. It is an adult game made for kids as you have to be lightning fast on the keyboard to play all the silly side games.
The humour can be funny but to hear it all you have to be able to conquer these side games. As a 50 year old who enjoyed the LL series this game lacks imagination and I find my reactions too slow to be able to play this game.

It is not Leisure Suit Larry 8! Even though Vivendi Universal's calls it a Leisure Suit Larry game, It is not an adventure game and there are no adventure like puzzles, and plot is hard to find. Leisure Suit Larry is not even in it. Minus a small voice over.
What is worse is Al Lowe was not even part of making this game. The man who created Larry had no part in this game. So how could it be good?
I am pleased to say that I enjoyed all other Larry Games, they were 6 games that Sierra and Al Lowe made that I am glad I played, I feel part of something special.
Any fan of the original Larry games will be and should be upset.
This game is a disgrace.

Ps excuse my bad french below.

More of an attempt to create a Leisure Suit Larry Xtreme Party Games title, rather then a continuance of the classic adventure series, Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude will disappoint a majority of it's long time fans. It was a wise move not to make the game about Larry Laffer, but his nephew born from market research, Larry Lovage. Instead of talking to women, working out puzzles and trying to persuade them to spend some quality time with you, here you have a number of arcade games to complete to pass the game. It's the most laziest game design I'd ever seen, my heart sank when a majority of the puzzles required you to play Pong or take photos. The comedy in the game is okay, but it does wear out its welcome when most of the jokes rely on swearing and the fact they've all been done before to better effect in previous titles. Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude also has little replay value compared to its predecessors. A game like Larry 7: Love For Sail had heaps of secrets programmed into it that kept the gamers busy for months playing with shortcut keys and program files. In MCL, all you have to do after you finish is keep playing annoying arcade games until you can afford to make everyone nude.
There's almost nothing here for the long time fans except slight nudity and a few cheap references to the previous titles. Although it should be noted, Sierra tried to win the old time fans over by saying the series creator, Al Lowe, would participate in the creation of this title as a creative consultant. However, months went by with Lowe not receiving any word from the developers. People had grown impatient and evidently gave up hope on Sierra making an effort to contact Larry's creator. However, just before the release of the game, Lowe recieved an e-mail from the developers. It turned out the only involvement they intended for Al Lowe was to make him sign a waver that wouldn't allow him to criticise the game when it came out. Lowe humbly refused their offer.
The bottom line is any Leisure Suit Larry title where Larry dosen't even wear a leisure suit is just going be trying too hard to be hip.
If you're just after a little computer nudity, can't you find cheap Hentai instead?
P.S. The difference between the uncut version and the censored version is that the censored signs have been removed, and there's slightly more graphic version of the Barbara-Jo ending.
