This might be a good game. It was given as a gift for our young son, but then we noticed it is now rated TEEN (for "fantasy violence"). It was not rated when we put it on our wishlist.
Just fyi for other parents out there.
A Must Read

Do you like to books about knights, animal's, creatures and wars then the Chronicle of Narnia: The Loin, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is for you
The story starts with four children, Peter, Edmund, Susie, and Lucy, had to live with the professor, because they where in they were threaten by the air raids. When they got certain rules. Edmund was making fun of Lucy; she got mad and tried to hide from them, so she went to the professor's wardrobe. When she was in there Lucy was lost and came out the other end. Then Lucy found her self in a winter place, where she met a new friend Mr.Tumnus. He brought her home and gave her tea to drink since she was cold. She talk to him and told him stuff bout her family. Mr.Tumnus felt guilty for something. He told her too leave before he betrayed her.
When Lucy got back home she told everyone bout Narnia and how she met Mr.Tumnus but Peter, Susie, and Edmund thought Lucy was crazy. Edmund went into the wardrobe and went into Narnia and met the White Witch. Edmund told the Witch about how her sister, Lucy met Mr.tumnus. The Witch she was the queen of Narnia and said she'll give him anything he wants if he brings Peter, Lucy, and Susie to her in her castle. Edmund convinced Peter and Susie to go in the Wardrobe. When they went in they found Mr.Tumnus house violated. The Witch took him away; there they met the beavers who showed them the true king of Narnia Aslan the lion. They children met Aslan and Edmund left to the witch and betrayed Aslan to save Edmund, Aslan had to be sacrifice. Peter was the leader of the army against the forces of the Witch. Aslan came back to life and ripped the Witches face off.
In the end Aslan knighted them the Kings and Queens of Narnai and Mr.Tumnus was safe after Lucy saved him. Few years later the came back to the street light falling out of the Wardrobe young again telling the professor the journey.
I think that the book was good i would have to give it a four, it kept making me what happen in the next chapter like when Aslan died. The story had good concept, like how they showed both sides like the writer talk about Edmund was capture.. There's nothing about that I will change about the book. I would recommend this book to people 8-15 or people who love fairy tales.

Our kids were very excited to receive this game on Christmas only to be disappointed that it needed a special video card. We had to spend over $100 to make this game work. The extra money is not worth owning the game.
Run! It's THE McReidy!!!

My boys, my husband included, have really enjoyed this. The 5-yr old has to play with help, but the 9 yr old can play independantly. Usually, the minute it comes on, they ALL crowd around the computer. They got to a higher level, last night...it had been particularly problematic to solve and when they managed to do so, it was as if they really were in Narnia! LOL
Looks like the White Witch won this time.

The book was great. The movie was great. But the day the game was made was the day Narnia died...
In Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, And The Wardrobe, you can usually play as any one of the Pevensie children. However, when in combat, if you're being attacked by monsters, do your siblings rush to your aid? No, they just stand there and watch you die.[Not very nice are they?] And another thing, your enemies always attack you. Just you! And they ignore everyone else. They just focus on you like homing missiles, bent on murdering you.
And the combat system is awful. Basically all you do is press the attack button[H] over and over again, hoping to kill your enemies before they kill you. And you can barely block. Only Peter and Edmund can block and all that is, is them raising their arms for a half second. So basically, you have to repeatedly press block for it to work at all.
Long story short, if you're a fan of games where all you do is run around desperately trying to kill monsters, this game is for you. But if you like good games where you kill countless enemies, get Jedi Academy.
Decent, but.

Alright, it's time to silence the whiners and new people to the tech in here. You DO NOT need a new videocard to play the game. Heck, i can probably run it on my laptop's IGP. If you can't run it on many new PCs, then you're doing something wrong. You probably need new drivers, or to install direct-x or something simple like that. As to all this rabble about a "special videocard", what did you guys expect from buying the $99 special at your local store or dell's latest "count your change" machine.
As to the actual gameplay itself, i found it playable for a bit, and missions such as the london house were intended to teach you the basics of attacks, targetting and movement. Things such as the beavers dam were intended to pad out the game. Do you really think it would have been fun if you just walked through narnia for a few hours, talked to the witch, lah-de-dah, whacked her and finished up? I thought not. My only gripe to this title is that the AI seems to be useless. They just stand there, they don't fight. Graphcially, the title isn't too bad, it's better than San Andreas, i'll tell you that now. If it looks horrible to you, try boosting the game above 640x480 before complaining.
Audibly, we can easily find this game's best aspect. The range of music from the movie is superb, the voice acting from the actual actors is great and combat sounds proper and perfect.
In the end, you can do worse with a game - just buy Fantastic 4 and you'll know what i mean. But if you're going to complain that you can't run the game, try and figure out what you're doing wrong first before blaming it, and secondly, smack yourself next time you buy the cheapest possible computer components and expect God (or whichever figure you choose to, or not to worship) to come down and make it run everything like a $25 Million super computer. Or here's a better tip - if you had a PS2 or XBOX or Gamecube, why are you buying it for PC to play on your 14" el-cheapo LCD when you probably have at least 30" to use in the living room? Rent it, and if you like it THEN buy it. Now was that so hard?
This game sucks

I went out and watched the Narnia movie and liked it. So I thought I would like the game too, I was wrong. This game is really lame and dumb.
Here are some of the reasons I don't like this game.
1. Many of the missions stink. For example: The first mission you run around your house in London and break down doors to try to find your family. It also goes so in dept it is dumb. Like it take about 30 minuets to get to the beavers dam. It's just not fun.
2. You don't use the mouse. Normally you use the mouse a lot. In this game you never use the mouse. You have to use keys on the keyboard to attack ect. It is also very hard to move around because your view keeps changing.
3. The Game comes with the discs only. No installing help, no game info, it comes with NOTHING!!!! That is really lame.
4. You can't even get weapons for a long time. You can't even fight you just run around and hide from Ms. Macredy! It is really poorly disined.
5. The view of your character keeps switching and zomeing in and out. One minute you will be right next to your character the next you're be a long way away and can beraly see you character.
Rating it each section:
Graphics: 3/5 The garphics can sometimes be bad. most of the time there fine.
Sound: 5/5 Awsome sound. That's the only good thing about the game.
Controls: 1/5 Just awful Totaly terrible. you never use the mouse so it's close to inpossible to move around, even with a gamepad.
Gameplay: 1/5 wow it's hard to describe how bad it is. Let me put it this way: There are gamers who like FPF (First pereson fighting) FPS (First person Shooting) and C&C (Comand and Conquer)Nomater what you like of the three listed types I bet you will hate this game. just awful.
OVERALL: 1/5 Sound awsom. Graphics okay. Everything else is terrible.
I strongly suggest that you save your money and buy some other game. If you like fanticy sword fighting I suggest that you get Lord of the Rings The Return of the King. That is much better. I Liked the movie I liked the books. but the game? This is the worst game I have EVER played. I You may have noticed not many other people liked it either. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.
