never saw starwars I or II... I just like video games, and I loved this one. I found the storyline fun and the graphics great - the controls were a touch difficult to master, but the training sessions and practice took care of that in no time. fun, fun, fun - you really feel like a character inside a movie

No Jar Jar Binks here.

This game is short and sweet - like Yoda. Not long and annoying - like Jar Jar Binks. I'm not a huge star wars fan, and I've seen Lucas Arts shamelessly spew out terrible games that actually were bought solely on it's connection to Star Wars. Before this game, the only game I thought they made well was Day of the Tentacle, a hilarious PC game from the early 90s.

This game is the perfect rental. I don't mean this in a bad way. If the level is set to the easiest level, the game can be completed in a way that is enjoyable and non-frustrating. You can actually play the game without being bogged down in the game. Many hardcore gamers wouldn't care for that, but it suits me just fine. That's why there are difficulty levels. If you feel the need to repeat levels because your ship gone blown up ninety percent of the way - that's fine by me - you've got the option to do it or not.

This game is not a complicated, long, immense game. It's simple really. You control a starfighter, and you control it in either first person or behind the starship mode. You shoot, use missiles, and sometimes use the force. The graphics are not superb, the strategy is not really complex, it's basically a shoot-em up.

The simplicity is it's major plus. It's fun, that's it. It's not revolutionary, and it doesn't try to be something it's not. The cut scenes aren't spectacular, but then again who cares? You don't need to know special tricks. The last missions are not so much harder than the first missions that it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Since it was Lucas Arts, I expected top-notch graphics. That wasn't the case. The main screen is basically a screen with a little circle in front of it to fire at. The background is decent on the planet, but is just black in space. The ships lack detail, so from a distance, all you see is a circle and some flying specks far away. Not awe inspiring by any means.

Pros:
Simple.
Fun.
Difficulty levels settings.
Didn't stretch itself too far.

Cons:
Not revolutionary
Graphics and cut-scenes aren't that good.
Basically a screen with a with a little circle to fire into

Difficulty - Easy to Hard (depending on settings)

Hours of Play - 5 hours on the easiest level

Annoyance level - Low

This game blows major wookie pud.

With all the hype for episode 2 and then the major let down of that film, Jedi Starfighter follows suit. Harry Knowles was right- ep. 2 made ep. 1 LOOK BETTER. However, the same cannot be said of this game and its predecessor Starfighter. They are basically the same game, and with the same cheats- you can play forever without getting dinged- or play with the... Jar-Jar mode. With the original Starfighter selling for 20 bucks, why bother with this?

Like the next installment of the degrded Star Wars series, I am definately NOT looking for the third sequel of this game. On a lighter side, you can unlock all the craft, which include the x-wing and tie fighters, but they are useless vis-à-vis the ones already at hand.

So- if you're looking to dump fifty bucks- here is your game!

I finished this game and all bonus levels in three nights.
A nice-looking teaser for the movie with no real meat.

Not wanting to alienate any potential fans, this game has been dumbed down.

The hardest part was figuring out what the "Secret" objectives were, not in completing them.

It was cool to have so many bonus vehicles to fly. (And rather annoyed that there have been no X-Wing ot TIE games released for the PS2.) Loved the bonus features, especially the typical day at the office for the game designers. But bonus material doesn't make up for a quick sequel made to sell movie tickets.

not bad, not bad at all.

this game wasn't exactly what i thought it would be. i didn't really like the disadvantage of not being able to change your view because i really dislike a "cockpit" view and in the game you can't switch. some other things were being forced to use the analog sticks to move and not being able to be more well known characters such as anakin or obi-wan. but i really like the new "force" powers they are so COOL!! overall it was a great game with only a few minor flaws. ... ***May the Force Be With You***

This game will be a total hit!!! (OMG!)

All the Star Wars are great, but have you seen this one?
The graphics are amazing, the game looks as it's going to be good, the characters are nice, and it's based on the next Star Wars film, Episode II: Attack Of The Clones! What else could you ask for?!
This game will be the best game ever for PS2! You'll definetely have to buy it 'cause it rocks!!!

Not Worth the Money

Unless you like games where it's hard to steer, and your'e in a ship the whole time, then it's a good game. But if you're like me and you don't, then don't even bother renting it. I bought it and returned it almost immiedetly. My brother and I love almost every video game, but this was one that we both hated. Don't, I repeat, Don't waste your money on this game.

Wow! GREAT

This game is awsome, I just finished it a minute ago. You can fly 2 default starfighters (you can choose them, they are preselected for you) and you cant have a favorite. 2 player moe is great, no more simply flying 2 seperate fighters, the second player is in a turret that he controls to help defend you. There are no seperate multiplayer levels, simply the regular levels. It adds on to Star Wars Episode 2 (which I saw opening night) which is cool, for instince you have to escort the ships that land the CLONE TROOPERS. Plus you can unlock other fighter (it tells you how to do it) such as the X-Wing, Slave 1 (Jango Fetts ship, and a TIE fighter) again, this game is awsome.

X-Wing it is not

What a disappointment. Doesn't even compare to 1992 X-Wing for PC. The graphics and sound are awesome for this game, but the gameplay is downright boring. It doesn't even feel like the space ship is moving, so all you do is hold down the fire button and move the sight around till you find a bad guy. The game isn't awful, it just feels so bring to sit there and shoot, and shott, and shoot and not have to control anything else.
Play the X-wing games on pc. More ships, better plots, better missions.

Boring.

Average graphics, slow gameplay, insanely shallow dialogue, and cheesy music. Need I say more?
