With Quake 1 and it's mission packs it spoke of an incidious villen named QUAKE that had to be crushed to save humanity. It was an amazing hellish story. Why did they drop that and pick up with the "Strong Invasion" thing. I mean Quake 2 is an awesome game no doubt, but it shouldn't have been Quake 2. Quake 1 had the coolest story ever second only to DOOM. Which makes me also wonder why the hell did they change the amazing monsters in the DOOM/DOOM II/Final Doom storyline and go with the new retarded monsters in DOOM III? DOOM III and Quake III & IV are good but will never match the terror, funfactor, mystery and down right joy of the origional DOOM & Quake games.
The 5 Stars is for Quake 1
Nothing says 'deathmatch' better than a set with all three Quakes!

The Quake series is well and truly one of the most enjoyable set of games ever created, and this package bundles all of them into one small box.
First, we get Quake, the first truly 3D first person shooter game, that will totally overload your sensory input with intense graphics, nightmare-inducing monsters, and, most of all amazing multiplayer! The game allows up to 16 players over a network and the game has options for both deathmatch and cooperative (a feature that is sorely missed in modern titles). So once you've experienced the single player game, you can bring new life to the campaign by going through it with your buddies. All in all, Quake is an amazing game that will bring you hours of fun.
Next, we've got Quake 2. In terms of graphics it's a huge step up from the original Quake, allowing for 3D acceleration on all major video cards (GLQuake only works on 3dfx cards). The single player campaign is just as good as Quake's, if not better. Quake 2, like its predecessor, allows for both deathmatch and cooperative play, and with regard to multiplayer Quake 2 manages to best even Quake, with even more vivid worlds, better map design, and more satisfying weapons. Quake 2 is a worthy successor to Quake, and the fact that it's included in this set means that once you've spent countless hours (or shall we measure in days?) on the original Quake, you and your LAN party buddies (if you don't already have a weekly Quake LAN party, then you don't know what you're missing) can experience a whole new dimension: Quake 2.
Finally, this package comes with the last Quake created by Id software (Quake 4 is by Raven): Quake 3 Arena. This title is an interesting departure from the original Quake format. Quake 3's single player is simply a deathmatch session against enemy AI (very GOOD AI that's worth practicing with), so its focus is, naturally, multiplayer. In this, it succeeds brilliantly. Very fast network code, stunning visuals, very vivid new environments (Quake 1 and 2 used software renderers with 8/16 bit color depth -- Quake 3 uses 32bit!) with much more color, and a host of amazing maps and a lot of game modes (CTF, anybody?). So when you've had your fun with Quake and Quake 2's co-op and deathmatch, you can experience a Quake game designed exclusively for multiplayer support: And it ROCKS!
So just buy this set, it'll bring you countless hours of single player, and countless ^ 2 hours of multiplayer!
