I stopped playing this game after about 10 minutes. I have never quit a game no matter how bad it is, I usually stick it out, but this was just ridiculous. It's just question after question. "You have the key to the car, would you like to insert?" yes "would you like to open the door" Yes "would you like to get in the car?" YES! meanwhile, someone is trying to shoot at you during this whole situation.
It was just too obnoxious for me to even go pass the first few minutes. Unless you're into that kind of thing, have fun! For me, not so much.
Good, solid game.

This is a good, solid horror game. The gameplay does however get repetitive, but other than that, I recommend it to anyone who enjoys horror games, and definantly to anyone who likes a challenge. It's a very difficult game but I found that not giving up helps to beat it. All the mission have simple objectives, but there's ALWAYS a challenge. This isn't an action packed game, but it will sure get your heart bumpin'.
Big dissapointment for a true horror survival fan.

I can't write a full review on this game, due to the fact that I barely got anywhere in this game. I will give it this, it had a frightening feeling. The atmosphere was spooky, and graphics were good.
Here's where it went downhill..
The action is thrown at you. If you're into that type of action game, it will be good for you, but for my Silent Hill style of play, I wasn't ready for it. I didn't know how to react or what to do. I don't see how anyone could get past the first stage. I remember that you could do any fighting, but you used some type of psycological power with your brain. It was dumb. I was in a situation (no more than 7 minutes in the game) where I had to use some dumb mind reading ability that some chick just taught me in the game, the place that i was at was filled with zombie people that I barely got past. What makes it worse, was some guy was shooting at me. And i couldn't see crap at all! You could have no knowledge of what to do without the walkthrough! and that I looked at after I sold the game.
All in all, you'll have to try it. I didn't make it past the beginning, i'll say. But yet, i'm not good in the whole "everything is in your control" type of games. So i'll stick to my silent hill and what-not.

Ok how this game works. its like a horror puzzle game. You get a special feature that allows u to have vision of the enemies around you. You must find your way through the forest trying to use the vision specialty you have, and try not to get seen by the enemies. Its in 3rd person with quite good graphics for a ps2 title. All characters have many many different facial expressions and the lighting effect is amazing. Its a cool idea, but its not a free roaming game such as resident evil, or fatal frame. It would be the scariest of all horror games if it was free roaming. Currently i am on the 3rd lvl or mission. It may change to free raoming later, but so far it is not. Its a cool idea, and i may end up liking it better than i do now. Any questions im me on aim at kilik327 or yahoo messenger at ujio_last_samurai

My husband loves video games, but let me tell you this is on the bottom of this list. I got this for him because he likes scary, horror, type games. He said this was stupid. The way the game plays is tedious. You have to select each move you make..."get in vehicle" "start vehicle" HELLO! That is lame!

This game seemed pretty scary in the previews, but it really isn't. It's just frustrating, and funny when it's not supposed to be. The sightjacking is kind of fun, and it works out all right. I don't think it's been done before, and it's cool to see what the enemy is seeing and hear it breathing and all that. But it's not that helpful. Even if you know where the enemy is, it's hard to know what to do to avoid them or knock them out. Some of the enemies have rifles or pistols, and they're really tough. Even if you have a gun, you need to stand to use it, and the enemy is just as good, or even better, with a gun than you are. You can't choose your own route much of the time because their is only one course of action to take if you want to live. If I was armed and the enemy didn't have a gun, I still only won half the time. The unarmed shibito can kill you in two attacks, and a guy with a gun can kill you in one shot if you're close enough. When I managed to kill the enemy, they came back to life within half a minute or so. I didn't have much time to look around, which was bad, since this is a pretty linear game, and if I missed an item, I may not progress. There is some thought involved in this game. You may need to find a key item and use it in a certain way to either move on or get a sidequest done. But often, what you think would make sense is useless and it is a seemingly random action or item that gets you to the next point. I must have died at least 30 times in the first three hours of gameplay. So basically, this is a really hard game. The question is, is it still worth playing? Well, the story is pretty interesting, although you can see some of what's coming and you can guess why everything is happening. This would make a good movie. I like the small Japanese town feel. But it is ruined by the accents. The black haired, black eyed characters apparantly grew up in Great Britain and decided to visit Japan. It's somewhat funny, but people get this game because it's supposed to be scary. The background sounds and music are pretty good, but the enemies also sound a bit ridiculous. Some of them whimper, and some randomly giggle. I laughed quite a few times, but I wasn't scared once. Sure I was worried about dying almost constantly (and with good reason, apparently), but I don't think this would give anyone nightmares. Now onto the graphics. Like I said, I really enjoyed the Japanese-looking surroundings, and it's well-done. The character details are nice, but the graphics are just okay. It's not really realistic, and it looks a lot like an old-fashioned movie. The colors are often subdued. It's not bad; it just depends on your tastes. I like Siren, but it's definitely not a game I want to spend money to own. I suggest renting it or waiting for the price to go down. I couldn't really care much about the characters, because many of them annoy me. And I didn't feel a need to see what happens next.

This Game is different than any other game I have evr played. This is very good because I like the idea of playing different games. This game is really different. It made me think and gave me patients. This game is very fun only if a person wants a different game because I can see how bad it can be for some people. I would give it 10 stars if I could.
Ruined by lack of Japanese language audio track.

How can you have a game where all the characters are Japanese, the setting is Japan, and yet have all the characters speak in U.K. English with U.K. accents? Talk about spoiling a great thing. Siren 2 is supposed to be on the horizon, and hopefully the game's makers will come to their senses and include the Japanese audio track for all releases. It could have been right up there with Silent Hill, but instead the realism, and thus the intensity and scary factor, is lessened because of the lack of a Japanese audio track, which could have been easily included since this game was released in Japan with such an audio track. Those responsible for releasing this in America must have made a major mental lapse -- I hope so, because if they actually sat down and thought of some "reasons" to not include the original language track, then there's simply no excuse, no justification. Ridiculous, just plain ridiculous.
