If your thinking of buying this game think again it is pritty boring and logans shadow is so much better. This game has no online witch really stinks because the version for the psp had online the gameplay is ok but it is pritty repeditive so if you have a ps2 then get god of war2 and if you allso have a psp get logans shadow.Syphon Filter: Logan's Shadow

I picked this game up on Sunday afternoon. I finished it Monday night. It was too short in my opinion. It said it had 30 levels. It sure didn't feel like it. It's like syphon filter is becoming slightly mediocre as the series progresses. The story in this game seemed like it was just thrown together real fast. The first syphon filter was very challenging and kept me on the edge of my seat, And it took me months to finish it. When it took me less than 2 days to finish dark mirror.(On EASY mode.) I did enjoy it, but nothing in the series can top the first one.
Disappointing

Sony's long running action/espionage shooter series Syphon Filter made a stunning debut on the PSP last year with Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, which really showed off what Sony's handheld was capable of. Now, Dark Mirror has been ported to the PS2, but sadly, the fun action game from last year has been stripped down, and much of what made the game so fun the first time around has been lost in translation. What really made the game so fun on the PSP, namely the online multiplayer content, has been completely removed on the PS2. This is just unacceptable to say the least, considering that in itself was what made the game worth picking up the first time around. Besides this noticable, glaring flaw, the rest of Dark Mirror isn't all bad despite the short length of the overall campaign. The game looks great on the PS2, the controls are tighter using the Dual Shock controler than on the PSP's face buttons, and the action is highly enjoyable. Though there's little reason to go back to Dark Mirror once you finish it, there's still enough here to warrant a look at the very least, but considering the best feature of the game has been removed and the game doesn't have a budget price, Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror is better off left on the shelf.
some short-term entertainment

A pretty standard action/espionage game. I got this at one of Gamestop's infamous 3-for-2 sale on used games. I ended-up selling the game pretty quickly on-line, so I spent a few hours over 3 nights whipping thru it on "easy" as well. Overall it was okay but not particularly great. I enjoyed the combat - the AI enemies were actually fairly good at evading my shots and the cut scenes were decent though the plot was contrived. I liked the series back on the PS1 but haven't played it in years. The price point seems excessive - should probably be around $20 for what you're getting - a limited port of a PSP game.
Almost as good as the first

I wasn't expecting much from this game considering how badly the series went down hill like a runaway train after the first syphon filter. The first syphon filter had cutting edge graphics for a playstation game, a great story and excellent mix of action and stealth game play.
The series was pretty much butchered in the second, third and fourth games. But Dark mirror has really impressed me.
The graphics are very good for a PS2 game, really good models and clean crisp textures. The story is interesting and sets the table for some intense action.
Gabe can take cover then peek around corners or over crates to fire at enemy soldiers. There's a huge variety of weapons and gadets for Gabe to use, from sniper rifles, machine guns to shotguns.Gabe can climb up on crates, climb up ladders and glide down zip lines which is really kewl.
Each level has plenty of enemys to kill, numerous switches to activate or objective's such as placing C4 on the tail of a C-130 to keep the action going.
Dark mirror has 30 missions including some bonus missions, the career rating in stealth combat specialist, combat knife specialist, elite weapons expert, survival specialist, tactical combat specialist and combat sharp shooter adds plenty of replayability, letting players unlock new weapons and skills by playing through the missions again while trying to sharpen these skills...
This game is alot of fun and I recommend it to anyone that enjoyed the first Syphon filter.
