BECOME A VIRTUAL HEF WITH THIS FUN PLAYBOY SIM!!!

5 Rating: 5, Useful: 38 / 40

This is a fun game for people with an open mind and a sense of humor ( and it's NOT for kids ). It is essentially, THE SIMS with copious amounts of sex and nudity.

You play as a vitual Hugh Hefner. You must publish your magazine, hire writers, photographers. Do photo shoots for the cover and centerfold. Host wild parties. Buy stuff for your mansion like artwork, beds, chairs, video game machines ( you can play a pac-man like game ), pinball machines, stereos, tv's, etc. You also earn points for shooting good centerfolds and covers, etc, which can be used to buy real centerfolds and covers from PLAYBOY in the extra's menu. Need I say some of these photos are HOT? WOWWW!!!!

As I said, there is a great deal of sex ( in the bed, on the couch, in the shower, on the pinball machine )and nudity ( in the photo shoots and at the wild parties), so be warned. The game is rated M for MATURE players, 17 or older.

I have been having a great deal of fun with this game. Perhaps a bit too much fun, but.... it is something different from the usual video games which feature so much violence, which I find more distasteful than some sex and nudity. And some of the animation is quite funny at times, such as when your virtual self has sex with a woman on top of the pinball machine!

You have to go through various missions to un-lock certain items and new areas in the mansion. These missions can get a bit tedious and repetitive at times, but I find myself still playing it, trying to get to the end. Various famous people make guest appearences in the game from time to time: like baseball star and best-selling author, Jose Canseco; Tom Arnold; Carmen Electra, etc.

All in all, a fun game for those with an open mind looking for something different.

You'll either love it or hate it. Kudos to the soundtrack!

Okay, let me start by saying that this is one of the most redundant, repetetive, slow-moving, and pointless games I have ever played in my entire life (and I used to play NES's Wall Street Kid!). Let me now say that this is also the most eerily addictive game I have ever played in my entire life.

Basically this game is a simplified twist on The Sims. You guide Hef around the Mansion in a screen setup that is almost identical to that of The Sims. You interact with people in your choice of "Causual", "Professional", or if it's a female "romantic" conversations, getting them to like you more in each category in order to get good content for your next issue of Playboy. You get staff members: Journalists for articles and interviews; photographers for centerfolds, cover shoots, and pictorials; Playmates to pose for centerfolds and later maybe do cover shoots, essays, and interviews if their interesting enough; and Bunnies, who basically just walk around in Bunny Outfits taking to people.

The further into the game you get, the higher the quality of staff and celebrities you can work with, thus the higher the quality of your subsequent issues.

Yes, there is nudity (T and A). Yes there is sex (but they keep their undies on and it's all kinda goofy). That's not what drives me on this game though. You really have to get good at multi-tasking in order to put out good issues. You throw parties at which you are expected to keep everybody happy while also schoozing with guests long enough to talk them into an interview, essay, or cover shoot.

Sounds kinda boring. It is. But like I said, despite how redundant this game is, I can't stop playing it.

In addition to the game, however, I would also like to ackowledge the soundtrack. You get several "stations" to choose from, each featuring a different genre. There's hip-hop (no thanks) Jazz (not bad) a few other interesting little choices, but the Rock one... whoa! I am a big fan of old-school rock. The amount of absolutely crappy new rock bands has made me give up on new rock radio altogether. Now I know why! There is some really great rock music on this game! All real bands (not just some commercial-playing group that did songs just for the game). Thanks to this game I have been introduced to about seven new rock bands that don't suck. Start Trouble, All-American Rejects, Silvertide, Tony C & The Truth, The Rosenbergs. All really good new Real rock music! Thanks to the designers of this game for finding a neat way to introduce people to these groups. Too bad I never get to hear any of them on the radio (Godsmack, Korn, Linkin Park...EEEeeeeewwwwww!)

an addictiveness i can't quite explain

After playing for about an hour the game already seemed repetitious and i figured it would be a dusk colletor soon. But for some strange reason this game keeps me coming back for more, its not about the nudty in it cause that gets old quick and the graphics on the girls isn't even that great.I think its just addicting for me cause its a simplified sims game.See i was a sims fan but grew tired of having to feed my sim and sleep and then clean all the messes left on the floor. For me the sims was a little too much in detail to the point it got annoying. In this game you can control lives and run a business but you don't have to bother with that picking up litter all over the house and such. The game is monotonous like the sims but at least it left out the more annoying aspects of the sims games. This game does have some issues though,i find many times my player gets stuck and stops being able to respond to commands so i have to save the game often and when that happens i have to reload game from last save point. Also sometimes when you try to execute certain interactions with other people, the other people around yu can get in the way and if it takes to long for you to get into position to execute the action you attempted your sim gives up and forgets what it was setting out to do.I like to own games in every type of genre and since theres not much for home consoles in the adult games genre, this one isn't too bad as an only choice.its not as in depth as the sims but for the more casual gamer that doesn't want to have to deal with all the stuff the Sims games require this one may be more to your liking. Its one of those games that you will either be addicted to or hate it.I have always been into the oddball games like simcity, romance of three kingdoms, etc. The kind of games that the mainstream gamers don't bother with so maybe most people won't agree with me on this game or feel the same addictiveness i felt.I would have to say give it a rent and play the mission based game. For most people i think a rental will be enough for them just to check it out.

I am a chick who can't stand porno

Playboy The Mansion is a very good strategy game. Getting good content for your magazines proves to be a very deep and envolving task. Forget about the sexual content after about 30 minutes the topless women become secondary, and Yes there is sex but its with underwear on and its not sexy at all, its actually funny the first few times but also gets old. The unlockables are forgettable, who wants to see 1964 playmates, Damn where women ugly back then, look and you'll see at least compared to the couple of modern playmates you can unlock. however i found it fun to pump out issues trying to max out the market to get maximum exposure. The graphics are ok but you would have figured a game which focuses on hot women would have made them in a clearer and more pronounced way. The music once you buy a stereo or a dj station is good, you actually chose a type and it sounds really good. I was impresssed overall by this game and would reccommend it to adults only, and strategy game fans. i enjoyed this Sims type game.

Huge replay value...

The Playboy Mansion game is, when you come down to it, a somewhat interesting business game. You run the Playboy Magazine and have to publish a issue each month, full of interviews, photos of sexy women and interesting articles. To do so you have to hire staff, party with the movers and shakers of the fashion, film, sports and music industries, and try to get the best material for your magazine.
Do well and the cash and points will pour in, allowing you to buy new items, open new locations and throw more parties. Get enough fame and you can have up to four girlfriends.
The game is a fun business game, with sex and adult humor tossed in. Networking is very important - make sure to make as many deals as you can, gain lots of friends and flirt till you pass out. I love playing free style and in my current game have only two of the last goals left!
Always check out the trends before creating the issue, make sure to use your girlfriends to butter up future business partners, and always keep an eye on the bottom line - COST!

Who doesnt like playboy? but this game sucks because there are too many glitches and it messes up all the time and crashes your ps2 so you have to turn it off and on. Its like a sim game that looks better but plays worse.

Interesting...

This was interesting but it's mostly disappointing. I really enjoyed the game play and liked that it had more involvement than a regular SIMS type game making you meet requirements and all BUT it is rated mature for sexual content but doesn't show anything. There is sex...but the characters wear underwear the entire time. You only see breasts and I don't see why that makes it a mature rating.

My Heff got to do interesting things like host partys, hire and fire staff, have sex on the pinball machine, etc.

This was a good buy and keeps me entertained.

The Sims + Boobs = Playboy The Mansion

I need to start this review with a disclaimer: I tried this game because I respect Hugh Hefner as an entrepreneur and liked the idea of building a publishing empire. Having played the game, I wonder how I was so naïve as to believe a game with Playboy in the title could be more than a softcore boobfest.

The Mansion has two possible target audiences, yet it manages to miss both completely. The first group consists of voyeurs looking for some tasteful nudity and a somewhat more "interactive" experience than the magazine. Unfortunately for them "tasteful" is not the first word I'd use to describe The Mansion, nor will they find the "interactivity" they seek. In order to steer clear of an AO rating, there is no nudity below the waist and "sensual encounters" are essentially heavily watered-down lap dances.

As for the other target audience, I'm thinking of folks who enjoy the Sims-style play serving as the foundation upon which The Mansion is built. Apart from a lot of bugs, the obvious problem here is that any innovations The Mansion might bring to the table are obscured by all the boobies.

The central theme is to play the role of a young Hugh Hefner and set out to build a publishing empire. In order to improve circulation of the magazine, you need to attract celebs for photo shoots and interesting people for interviews. In order to convince these individuals to work with you, you must prove you know how to have a good time by throwing endless parties, paying careful attention to the guest list to avoid potential personality clashes. While this all works well for the first few hours of the game, it quickly becomes a tedious chore to keep everyone in a constant state of elation.

The reality is that, at its maximum depth, The Mansion will barely reach your ankles. In fact, this review is probably somewhat superfluous because upon looking at the game's title and box artwork it's highly likely that any presumptions you might have are already completely accurate.

When dose the fun actually begin

Okay iam not a perverted person but i decided to play this game. When you have s$$ all the clothe's don't come off, you walk around finding women to flirt with then her heart pump's up then that's your time to do it. This game is like the sim's but with half nudity and s$$. The women give's you a lap dance but it's just plain stupid. This game was not really fun to me it gotten boaring.
