I personally enjoyed a lot this game. I especially liked fighting the V-Rexes as Kong. I liked the many creatures and environments that were portrayed. My only complaint its that it is either to easy or to short. I was able to finish the whole game in a week although I need to unlock a few extras with an online code that I do not know. Enjoyed this game and hope somebody who knows those codes to reply back.

King Kong is one of the best games I have ever played. There are several reviews that say it is hard to follow and it is easy to get lost. There is only one possible path that you can take in every level. I find that when you are separated from your party, go to the start of the level!
The gameplay is great and the graphics are pretty good. Ubisoft gives you the feeling that you are stranded on a dinosaur infested island. Several times when you are on your own, you hear a raptor snarl from the bushes on your left. Or the right? The sound in this game really adds to the game overall.
Later in the game, you are able to play as Kong. This is where I have a few problems. The graphics begin to fall apart if the camera happens to get close to a native's face. And you do not get to play as Kong as much as I would have liked. Overall this game is fun the first time and has great replay value. Once replayed correctly, you can save Kong!
not even worth a rental.

wow, this game is bad, and i mean BAD. the graphics are "decent" - the PC king kong graphics are far better. at first it seems like the game may be going somewhere, because the script seems pretty cool, but you quickly find out the shooting is very boring (if you want a good ps2 shooting game, try timesplitters: future perfect). nonetheless i was determined to give this game a fair shot...
too bad it wouldn't let me. i kept going forward and got literally stuck by an invisible wall glitch. the woman said "follow me!" and so i did.. and i couldn't go any further through the invisible wall. oh no! my terribly subpar gaming experience was ruined by a BUG! oh well. king kong for the ps2 is a terrible game, with or without game-ruining bugs.
the PC version is another story. it's a lot more involving and has far superior graphics.

Everyone makes a big deal about graphics in video games these days. Why do the ones in King Kong stink so much? Granted, I've seen worse, but this game could totally pass for a PS1 game. The action parts offer a nice amount of excitement, though.
THIS GAME IS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (but the graphics suck)

When I saw the movie I wanted to get a game of the movie.(I absoluteley loved the movie) Though after I got stuck on an early level it got boring until I got a walkthrough of the level (Megapedes) but then I got my friend to come over who is the absolute King Kong Game Master!!!!!!!!!!!! He beat the game three times during spring break!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Together we got past all of the levels after that and then I beat the game!!!!!!!!!!! Though it was strange that you have to die at the end to beat all of the levels and that in the movie (and real life) there is only a small antenna on top of the empire state building while in the game, the small antenna was replaced with a big spire that you hold on to. The other bad thing is the graphics! they completely suck!!!! I thought that Ann was supposed to be beautiful and Jimmy was supposed to be a young looking boy while in the game Ann and Jimmy look like zombies!! King Kong also has something cause he looks kinda constipated!! The biplanes also seemed like they had 100 guns on them(the bullets also came out of the proppeller) But in real life, biplanes only had one or two guns fired from the man in the backseat of the plane but overall it was a great game!!!!
VERY, VERY PLEASED !

Let me start by saying the one bad thing about this game , and that is it is fairly short. However the game looks so great it looks like the xbox 360. The games easy to figure out but hard to master. Also you also have to think to survive. This is because you dont have many guns so if you charge at a group of dinosaurs you will probably get killed when you run out of ammo. Dont think it immposible to survive when you have no gun. You can find spears in many diffrent places. you really have to get help from your team if you want to win. Also when you play as kong you get to have fun. plus you get a ton of unlockable for doing various things. If you dont mind short games buy this.
OMG! THIS GAME ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

I first got this game on pc, and I was totally ASTOUNDED. My computer's graphics weren't very good - and the graphics still ROCKED! But then I got a PS2... and everything changed. But not in a bad way! In a good way. The graphics were so much better (figures seeing how the PS2 has a video card that will sustain any PS2 game that's thrown at it), and also this console version has CHEATS. Now, that may seem a bit weird to all you non-cheaters out there, but the cheats helped a lot - for example, they helped me practise the levels I was never good at, you know, so I can get better at them. It also helped so I could play the whole game without having to save the game, as I didn't have a memory card when I first got the PS2. Oh, yeah, about the game:
Pros:
- Graphics were EXCELLENT in the PS2 version, and they really made me feel more involved in the game than on the pc.
- This is a really random one, but I thought it was cool how the voices echoed in the caves and tunnels - they didn't do that on the computer.
- Controls were way easier to get used to, on the pc I was used to using the arrow keys instead of W,A,S,D and al the other controls...
- Another really random one, I can lie in bed with the controller in my hand and play KK from across the room :-P
- I loved playing as Kong in the Kong levels. Bashing up V-Rexes is so fun when you just know how to do it correctly...
Cons
- too short. I thought that it could have been a bit longer, you know, more levels - I mean, it's got like, 42 levels - but they're quite short the 2nd time round.
- ummm... please wait while I think about another con
- ok. I can't think about anything else to moan about.
This game can actually be pretty creepy at times. Like, for instance, you have to distract a V-Rex (A really, really, really, really, really, really, really big T-Rex) from eating Hayes and Denham while they open this door thing. You can achieve that by throwing spears at its head, or by shooting it in the nose, or summit... anyway, then when the door is open, you turn to run, with the V-Rex right on your heels, and WHAM - the V-Rex bites you head off. Then there's the Brontosaur level, where you have to run through a Brontosaurus stampede and get some fire while you get attacked by about 10,000 Venatosaurs (really big velociraptors).
Um, I probably shouldn't say too much more, because this is a reall long review, but anyway... you should definitely buy this game if you liked the movie. It really rocks. Two - no - EIGHT THUMBS UP TO THE UBISOFT TEAM!!!!!

this is an incedible game it is intense and exiting plenty of dinosours, there is a limit on weps but I dont mind.
There is no two player for this game but me and two of my freinds had a sleepover and we switched of, it has plenty of detail, and the voice acting is great, me and my friends screamed a few times when a Giant centapede (excuse my spelling I mean the creepy bug with lots of legs) jumped out of a hole in the wall. this game is creepy sometimes Mostly when playing at night.it realy puts you into the game I was sad when at one point when I thout I was finaly going to make it out of the island, I realy developed feelings for the caracters in the game.
I hope you found this review helpfull
