I returned the software and the dealer sent me another one and that was also defective. I gave up and returned them. Part of the program would work OK ( the Course Designer) and the bonus Motocross worked Ok. The golf program would not work. Microsoft we are really proud of you!!!

Not half as good as 2001. What good are more courses if the game itself is lousy?

This is a game I will have for years. With the ability to add additional courses, play online, and make the play as difficult as your skill level, Links 2003 is about as good as it gets. The courses are beautiful, and well designed. If you are hooked on a game being linked to a big name golfer, this isn't your game. If you are looking for superior play and graphics, this is your game.
Any game that can make me angry and I keep comming back for more abuse because it is so fun is a keeper.

I'm by no means an expert golfer but I love this game after playing the downloadable demo. It seems relatively easy but the real time swing is a pain. If you have the room to work with it then you should like the real-time swing. I have seen a lot of complaints about redraw. I have had no problems here as it seems to redraw faster than you can blink. I run it on Win-XP Pro, Pentium 4 3.06, 1-gig rambus ram, G-Force 4800 TI 128-MB video card @ 1024X768-32. Again I'm no expert being the only golf games I have played are MS Golf 1999 and MS Golf 2001. I will say that this is a vast improvement over those games.

I bought Microsoft Links 2003 and combat flight sim 3 with out reading reviews and the reviews are right, these games are flawed and a waste of money. They are turning out games that are not as good as the past. I am done with Microsoft games unless I read plenty of reviews that give it a thumbs up. It seems that Microsoft would address all these complaints but I see nothing. Are they laughing too hard at the consumer they once again have baffled?

Visually very similar to Links 2001 and the new real time swing type is usless. But powerstroke still rules and playing skins with my friends in Sweden is great fun. I'm playing on the champ level and the game really punishes you for incosistent swings, just like real life.
If you can't do the real thing for whatever reason, this is the second best thing and there are tons of great courses to download of the net.
Highly recommended.

I decided to purchase this game because my Links98 was having erratic results when I purchased a new computer with a 1.4gig processor. I hoped that the new game would respond better to mouse clicks. Well - that's the only thing I can say good about the game. Other than that, the graphics are horrible. Making an internet connection is next to impossible. It takes over a gig of hard-drive space if you install it in its entirety, and it will not load your older LS games, even though the advertising says it will.
I would only recommend this to someone I didn't like.
not so bad afterall

Better graphics? Not on my three year old compaq. The players look like cartoon characters and the courses look artificial.I have had every Links since the 98 version. This is the first disapointment.I am not impressed with the real time swing.Back to the 2001 for me.
Since writing the above, I have installed a 32mb video card. This has made a big difference, and I even installed the 2003 Champion courses.
