Guilty Gear has long been known as a deep, balanced fighter. Accent Core continues this tradition, and whilst some whiners may compare it unfavorably with one or two past games in the series, it's still better than anything else out there!
If you're not into 2D fighters, now is your chance! Buy this game, grab a friend, and go at it!
And if you are into fighters, well you already know Guilty Gear rocks.
Finally, some GOOD NEWS! All the bugs that plagued the Japanese console version are fixed! Here's a list:
-Johnny's jackhound return is now a force break ALWAYS
-Bridget's j.5 yoyo set is now, uh, in the game
-Bridget's Razor Roger force break no longer absorbs infinite hits
-Axl's combos now work when they should
-Sol no longer has double "clean hits" sometimes
-Counterhit Gold Bursts now do the correct amount of damage
THE ULTIMATE 2-D FIGHTER GAME

PROS: two new characters include Order Sol, new animation, new user interface on the character select, more options on game modes, maintains the shock and awe of the first Guilty Gear XX and even more.
CONS: Justice and Kliff Undersn are no longer playable characters.
Price: you can't beat 30 bucks especially for a new game.
Overall: Great game, stays true on the game play with even more flexibility... almost reminds of Mugen.
You can't go wrong getting this game, pick it up now before the price goes up to some ridiculous price. At one time, I saw the game selling for 100 dollars! Someone probably bought it because the listing is gone. Enjoy!

Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core is a great time. If you are a fan of the previous Guilty Gear titles you will really enjoy this one.
The character design is great and has some of the most unique characters out there.
The gameplay is fast paced and fairly deep too. With the instant kills available in this game it can theoretically always be anyones game, which really keeps the competition up in a 2 player match even when it seems that one person has a large lead.
2 player games on this are great, and while you don't need to be an expert to have a good time and play this, once you get some practice time in on this game it is alot more enjoyable, especially trying to pull off the special instant kills.
The Graphics are crisp and clean, as this game will output in 480p or even higher if you have a PS3 to play this game on.
I highly recommend this game for anyone who is a 2-D fighting fan looking for a fun game that isn't another Street Fighter Clone or something.
Best 2-D fighter to come along in a while

The Guilty Gear series has long been known as a franchise that doesn't diappoint in terms of quality fighting action, and Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core is no different. Featuring a large (and colorful) selection of fighters, Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core features some new backgrounds and voice overs that fans of the series will notice, as well as the typical fast paced fighting, freaky and just plain weird characters, and great metal-themed background music. The game's graphics are fluid and the animations are colorful and well designed, and the controls are easy to pick up, and even easier to mash. As a whole, Guilty Gear XX: Accent Core doesn't really offer anything that hasn't been seen before (whether or not you're a fan of the series or are used to other 2-D fighting franchises like Street Fighter or any SNK series), but the game stands out on it's own thanks to the uniqueness of the franchise, some new features, a modest price, and the fact that it's just plain fun. This may very well be the last great 2-D fighter the PS2 will ever see (SNK has a few more of their collection games on the horizon), so enjoy it wile you can if you're a veteran of the series, and for newcomers, Accent Core is a great place to get acquainted with the franchise.
Great Gameplay but needs a Story Mode

The game came in perfect condition and on time so no complaints about the delivery or anything of that sort. The main problem is with the game itself, mainly being that the game seriously needs a story mode. Your pretty much playing an arcade game with no clue who your fighting or why exactly the people on screen are fighting in the first place.
Greatest 2D fighting Game Ever !!!!!!!!

This game has the coolest characters, moves, combo, and storyline.
Beautiful animation and ROCK music make it the best game. Must buy it home and see for yourself.

Guilty Gear XX Accent Core is a great game to pop in for a few minutes before heading out of the door. So far as fighting games go, it is one of the better fighters out there. If you've played they other Guilty Gear games, it is not quite as amazing as some of the predecessors. Definately buy this if you just want a new fighting game, or even if you simply want to complete your Guilty Gear collection.

Alright, this game is a modest update to Guilty Gear XX... this is not a dramatic update to the series, like some had wanted. Think of this game as a more balanced and more technical Guilty Gear XX... They've added Holy Order Sol(from Guilty Gear Slash) and A.B.A (from Guilty Gear Isuka), so technically they haven't added anyone COMPLETELY NEW to this game. This is not a disappointment as the gameplay has gotten more and more fleshed out with the addition of Force Breaks (similar to EX moves in Street Fighter 3), Instant Block, tweaked moves for each character, etc.. This a very deep and technical fighting game that fighting game fans will enjoy and appreciate the most...

This latest entry in the Guilty Gear franchise is super-polished and lots of fun to play. You'd be hard-pressed to find a 2D fighter that can top it. Maybe next year, when Capcom releases Street Fighter IV, Guilty Gear will have real competition. Until then, this is the only game in town.
Perhaps I expected more than what it should be

Guilty Gear already had a solid game mechanics (albeit some balance issues). You can literally see that the developers tried their best to incorporate criticisms and feedbacks accumulated from previous versions. However, removing any type of ending for Story Mode was quite shocking and dissapointing. The addition of two new characters were cool at first, but both A.B.A and Order Sol isn't as fun as I would imagined to be. While fixing what was broken, the Aksys changed something that created a new hybrid, no longer same as the original.
The battles are still fast and fun.
