I'm not a big fan of adventure/action/tps game but I must say that this one really great. Once you start playing you can't stop. If you are searching for a great game, this one is a must!!!

Have fun

This game has so much potential and thankfully uses much of it. I'm just writing a short review because alot of people forgot to give scores so they screwed up the average. All in all a great game that plays similar to Ratchet and Clank but a bit more funky and original.

My 13yr old loves it!

My son received this for his birthday from his aunt and loves it! My husband does as well, and all he likes to do is shoot and blow up things. Yeah the beginning movie sequence and some game play has some profanity but most of it is censored, but it's 'bleep'ing hilarious. The soundtrack is great, the graphics are just as good as other games we've bought with the same price tag. I see the only people not really liking this game are the ones who are use to having to press 'X', 'O', 'L2', and 'R1' all at the same time to walk. It truly is a great game, it's just as fun to watch your kid play it as playing it yourself. Highly recommended.

BUY IT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was predisposed to like this game. After all, "robots blowing up other robots" is a tried and true videogame premise. Some of the best videogames ever spring from the same well (Paradroid for the C64, for instance.)

In the case of Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, however, promise falls short of reality.

The first and foremost strike against this game is the control system. Some PS2 games use a "point and go" control system. The player pushes the left analog stick to move in that direction, and uses the right analog stick to rotate the camera. If strafing (stepping to the side while facing the same direction) is desired, generally the left stick plus a flipper do the job.

Metal Arms ditches this for a more "first person shooter" style, where the left stick moves forward and backward, and strafes, while the right stick is used to rotate in place.

This makes something as seemingly simple as turning and running at the same time into an exercise in frustration akin to patting your head and rubbing your stomach simultaneously. Sure it's possible but it feels weird doing it.

Had the developers used a point-and-go system, the game would have been much more approachable.

The second strike against this game is the graphics. This game was released in November 2003, around the same time as Jak II and Ratchet & Clank 2, and falls far short of those titles. The motion in the game feels jerky, and the refresh rate seems to be below what's considered acceptable for other PS2 titles. (Perhaps the fact that this game is cross-platform means less time was spent optimizing the engine for any particular system?)

Overall, you'd be better off spending your gaming time playing the Ratchet & Clank series. Ratchet may not be a robot, but he does know how to blow up robots, and isn't that what's really important here?

Robo war!!!!!!!!

Let me say I love this game! It is a fantastic way to let off steam or to plainy just have fun.I won't go into the story because that is the game's job. There are a few slight flaws that hurt tis otherwise perfect game:
-Mission breifing doesn't really help you
-A.I. isn't always smart(I beat the game on easy so they might be smarter)
There are so many good things though too:
-Weapons
-Graphics
-Story
-Responsive controls
-Tight gameplay
-Length of missions
-Comes with strategy guide
-Humor
Thats all I can give because the list goes on and on. Not recommended for people who want to win the game in a day or people who are easily frusterated.Otherwise spend $15 and get an awesome game.

Tons of variety

Yes, this game does have some "F" bombs. Not for kids!!! It is slightly censored but you can still hear the jist of the word.
This game is my favorite. I saw a commercial for it and bought it on impulse thinking it looked way cool. I hardly buy stuff on a impulse. I am glad I did though. After beating the game (which I felt very accomplished, It is not at all easy even on easy mode) I later played it on medium and it was tuff. There are like 3 levels that might cause some frustration but you'll be determined to pass them because the game is so dang fun. Yes the controls take some getting used to, which makes this game fun once you master them. You don't have to be perfect at them though (except for possibly one or two levels towards the end, you have to be close to perfect,[the arena fight- Your inventory of weapons get taken away and you must battle a "star wars" esque arena battle by dodging bullets and finding gernades and other hand explosives to throw at your enemies]). And the last level you have to run around with out stopping or you'll be blown away.

Pros.
-Tons of variety: This game seems to have a little bit of every other game in it from sniping, driving cool tank type vehicles, sneeking around. There's always more then one way to beat your enemy and pass the level. Highjacking robots and other vehicles, icluding taking control and becoming some of your foes and using their weapons against their own kind.
- Lots of levels and new things to discover.
-upgradable weapons- like the ripper, you can severe robot limbs before they get a chance to launch a missle at you.

- good replay value

cons-
- has 3 very difficult levels, for me at least. Not a game for novice players. Must be skilled at the controller.

-some rough language. If it didn't have any bad language it could be rated lower than "T"

WOW

I liked this game, but I only played the demo. The weapons were awesome but the guys following you were lame and stupid. In all a good game if you like 3D platform games
